Acrobat crashes immediatiely when reading checkboxes and radio buttons with NVDA.  This has been ocurring for at least two days as of August 20, 2025.For NVDA users, this means they cannot read or fillout accessible PDF forms. For me, this means I cannot test the accessible PDF forms I am creating. This is critical to debug.

The PDFs are generated automatically by our server and contain multiple editable form fields that must remain interactive.We need to reduce the file size because the documents must be transmitted through an API gateway with a strict size limit.Standard compression tools often flatten or remove the form fields, which is not acceptable.We are looking for a way in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2015 to optimize/compress the PDF while fully preserving form fields, layout, and visual quality.

Cannot even edit a 3 page resume with a modern supercomputer without getting screen jitter and lag. Clicking on a text box to edit text requires waiting 8 to 10 seconds from the time that I type until the text is rendered on a screen ....  I am trying to simply copy and paste a color of crimson from one text box to another and there is no mechanism for me to apply the same text color .. I have to open up Microsoft Paint to get the correct RGB Code.   Resizing a text box causes flashing and lagging ...  Over 10 years ago this is why I chose to use Microsoft Word and Power Point rather than Adobe.    Same problems persist today.    AWFUL ... I ask Chat GPT how to overcome the lag.  It tells me Adobe is known as LAG CITY and advises me to use Microsoft Word. FIX YOUR PRODUCT!!!!    

In the web version of Acrobat I’m unable to find or enable the bookmarks tab in the sidebar on the right side of the screen. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere? This tab is present on the desktop version of Acrobat.

I have a subscription to Adobe Acrobat on a Mac.  I'm trying to submit an IRS form via the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of their form.  When I click on the button nothing happens. Do I need to change anything in preferences to make this work?

I'm on a work computer that's been used by other people. I often work short duration jobs on work computers. I'm signed into Creative Cloud using my personal account. When I opened a .PDF in Acrobat and attempted to use the "Sign yourself" option, I saw that digital signatures of previous users also showed up.When the job is over, how do I delete my signatures from Acrobat so that future users of this work computer don't have access to it?

I know this has been asked before here: But no explanation was given about why it works in a browser or what the solution is in Acrobat (without using destinations).

So, I have had about 100 chats with tech support. None of them seems to know what to do. I have gone through all the posts in the community. NONE of the steps suggested work. Every time I open a document, a pop-up window appears, displaying "Preparing document for reading" with a progress bar. The progress bar freezes about 1/3 of the way, and I then have to close the window manually. This occurs 50-60 times a day and is VERY disruptive to my workflow. Sometimes, I'm able to close it with no further interruptions; other times, it repeatedly pops up in the same document. Someone please help, I have tried every .pdf program out there and all of them absolutely SUCK.   

I REFUSE to accept the answer tht PDFs were never meant to be edited. In Adobe's eyes, maybe. But, there is absolutely no reason that a comprehensive file format such as PDF cannot be edited in a way that is both constructive and not MADDENING! Adobe Acrobat is [cursing removed] for an editor. Just because they think it work perfectly fine does not mean that it works perfectly fine. [Branched to new thread by moderator]

Hi Team,In our environment, we encountered an issue while updating Adobe Acrobat DC to version 25.001.2047x (Optional Update, Apr 28, 2025). The update fails on certain macOS machines.We analyzed a few sample machines and observed the following (note: this may not cover all possible base versions) Successful Updates (Sample):25.001.2043824.004.20272 Failed Updates (Sample):24.005.2040024.005.20320 We primarily used the Terminal for the installation. On machines where the update failed, we also attempted installation via the standalone installer, but that too was unsuccessful.While using the installer, it prompted us to select the Adobe Acrobat application. However, even though the app was visible in Finder, it was not selectable, which resulted in the installation failing.Additionally, we attempted the troubleshooting steps suggested for error code 105 , but the issue still persists. Hallo liebe Adobe Community,leider habe ich ein Problem mit der Erstellung einer PDF Aktion, die unter anderem auch den Befehl “Daten zusammenführen” enthalten soll. Normalerweise bietet Acrobat bei den meisten Funktionen innerhalb des Aktion-Wergzeugs die Möglichkeit Detaileinstellungen vorzunehmen, sowie die Eingabeaufforderung durch den Benutzer zu aktivieren oder zu deaktivieren.Dies ist aber aktuell bei “Daten zusammenführen” sowie bei allen anderen Auswahlmöglichkeiten unter der “Gehe zu” Palette nicht möglich (oder ich sehe den Wald vor Bäumen nicht). Ich bin zu 100% sicher, dass ich in der Vergangenheit bereits hiermit erfolgreich gearbeitet habe, Detaileinstellungen vornehmen konnte und es gibt auch im Internet Videos (ab 0:55), die belegen, dass es mal möglich war.Wie aber in den folgenden Screenshots zu sehen, befindet sich besagte Funktion, anders als im Video, nun unter “Gehe zu” und bietet keine weiteren Einstellungsmöglichkeiten mehr. J’ai posé une question en janvier 2025 (26 janv. 2026 08:33 sur Acrobat Discussions) à laquelle j’ai eu 2 réponses, mais il m’est impossible d’y accéder… Dans le mail que j’ai reçu (pour les deux réponses), le lien pour voir la réponse ne mème à rien… si ce n’est la page d’acceui du (soi-disant) forum. Lorsque je me connecte avec mes identifiants, il n’y a aucune notification, ni moyen de voir ces propres posts.Si quelqu’un pouvait m’expliquer, j’en serais très reconnaissant. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (Version 2018.009.20050) on a Mac Mini running macOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.2) and I used to be able to use the Comment tool to add shapes to drawings and reports...I used to insert the shape, and then I was able to go to properties, and when I would click on the Fill Color, there was an option/check box to make it transparent. That option is no longer there and I don't know why it just disappeared. Now when I try to insert a circle to show an area, it just covers up what I'm trying to circle and there's no way for me to remove the fill color (I can only change it to be a different color). ??? Please help! This is so irritating!!

Using Adobe Acrobat 2025.001.21111 I am working on developing a form that I started from InDesign. When I went to update the font of a form field, to use a font (Fort, Fort Black) from Adobe Fonts, I get a message that “The selected font cannot be embedded in the PDF file….” I am confused about why this is happening, especially when the Adobe Fonts site says “We’ve got you covered: Fonts are licensed for personal and commercial use; review the full Terms of Use. … PDFs: Embed fonts in PDFs for viewing and printing” How can this be resolved?

I have a serial number that is listed in my Adobe Profile, yet when I try to use the serial number the software says: "This serial number is not valid for this product." I on my account page under "My Product" and it says I have Acrobat 10 registered with the serial number I am to use. I used the download button that is right next to the serial number. What gives? Why do they give me a download that rejects my serial number? The attached is the error I am getting, I removed the serial number for obvious reasons.

Can I create fillable number  field and convert to words automatically

In my new experience of Adobe, my All Tools toolbar is on the left side of the screen and the Zoom in/out feature and the Rotate page features are in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.  I want to be able to move these.  I want the All tools back on the Right side of the screen and I want the Zoom & Rotate features back at the top of the page.  Is there anyway to do this?  I see how to customize the toolbar, but I don't want that small toolbar.  let me know if this is possible.  Pics are attached in the word document below. thanks in advance.

The cross-document hyperlinks from our InDesign documents do not work after the exported PDFs are combined into a single PDF. (Some of the hyperlinks are already not working before the file combination, while others are. All are created the same way within InDesign.) The original design documents are InDesign Docs A, B and C. All software is current and up-to-date.The structure is basically: Links 1 and 2 are in Document A, Links 3 and 4 are in Doc B and Links 5 and 6 are in Doc C.In the PDF of Doc A, Links 1, 2, 3 and 4 all work, but 5 and 6 do not. In PDF Doc B, only 3 and 4 work, and in PDF Doc C, only 5 and 6 work. In the combined PDF of A, B and C, only Links 1 and 2 work.

I bought Acrobat XI Standard perpetual license over 10 years, a physical disk. I just finally got a new computer after 12 years and the new computer wants me to to deactivate the license on the old computer so I can use it on the new computer.  I did deactivate it. I am trying to reactivate it on the new computer but I don’t know which email address I must have used to originally register it. I have tried all my active email accounts, but with no luck. I have reached out to Adobe and they no longer offer phone support for this product and my support via email has not been great at all with Adobe. They told me to post to this community for help. Any suggestions? Calling Adobe is useless as it states they new longer offer phone support for this product and then the phone call ends.

Hi all. I'm trying to sign a document on behalf of a colleague. When I upload their signature via "FILL AND SIGN YOURSELF" as a .jpg or .png I get "This image file is corrupt" in a red box. In attempting to do this I've now removed my own signature, and when I re-up that file, I get the same message. So it is clearly not the image files. Tried rebooting the computer (MacBook Pro) and I have also tried moving the files to my desktop... no dice. What is going on here please?!

I have about 8 Acrobat Pro users getting a "Cannot find or create font 'Arial-BoldMT'. Some characters may not display or print correctly." error for multiple different fonts when opening multiple different documents. I have verified that the fonts are installed in Windows Settings, tried deleting font cache in Windows File Explorer, repairing Acrobat, and uninstalling/reinstalling Acrobat. Uninstalling/reinstalling works temporarily, but the issue quickly returns.  

It is a simple problem as I have described it. The files are created with AutoCad, MathCad, spreadsheets, Woodworks, etc. It just cropped up in 01/26.  I can delete the headers/ footer & re-add them. But, it is a pain & the software should work.

I am using the latest Acrobat version (2025.001.21184 | 64bits) on my PC running Windows 11.I added a video to a PDF (mp4 x264) and then, everytime I tried to play it in Acrobat, it crashed…I found this ancient topic from 5 years ago : As suggested in the topic, changing my Windows settings so that Acrobat is forced to use the integrated graphics instead of my Nvidia GPU (force power saving option in System > Display > Advanced graphics options), solved the issue.Now, I am supposed to send this PDF to clients, I can't expect them to lose 2 hours of their time to look for the same solution online.How is it possible that after all these years this bug is still not fixed??How is it possible that having to put a video in a PDF feels like fighting against ancient alien technology?It's 2026 and one would expect such a basic functionality to work flawlessly…Seriously, is anyone at Adobe actually trying to improve and fix the tools or are you guys only focusing on forcing more useless AI
