Scheduled for 6pm, Pacific time. Forums should be in maintenance mode for 15-20 minutes to kill off a couple of hung query processes that are eating up memory.Sorry for the inconvenience. Hoping this clears up the two major crashes in the past two days. Thanks!Adobe Forums Team
This issue is so simple that I cannot find related info in any forums. I mean, all you have to do is open a PDF, and select save as, image, the type of image file, and browse your machine for a location. I get all that, except it just doesn't work. Nothing happens. I've reinstalled Acrobat X Standard, reinstalled Microsoft Office, and have been searching online for an answer for several hours. It has to be something fundamental, but I just can't get there and this issue is a show-stopper for me as I use this functionality constantly for presentations and proposals. Please, if anyone has specific information about how too fix this I would sincerely appreciate any relevant advice. Thanks,Dan
As many of you probably noticed, we had two major outages the last two days. I noticed because I got phone calls from our monitors and from Jive at 2:30 am and 6:30 am.Background on the issue is that it was a memory/disk space issue. It was caused because we requested more frequent database dumps for analytics. The issue should be resolved, as Jive has added an additional node just for the analytics this morning.Sorry about the inconvenience. Thanks for being part of the Forums!
I tried to post a question here about a missing post, and the forum software returned "Unexpected error" and ate my carefully typed post,so I had to reconstruct it from memory, which was painful and annoying. Why did it do that? If it going to reject a post because of soem content restriction that is going to misfire, can it be set up to do so in a way that does not make forum users lose work? The post I was trying to make was: Disappearing posts -- forum bug? http://forums.adobe.com/message/4137966#4137966My diagnostics to determine the cause of the filter were this in the testing forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/948854Thanks!
The company I work for has dozens of licenses of adobe CS3 software. We are getting ready to upgrade to CS5.5 before CS6 is released so that we don't lose the upgradeability. I know as of now, you can upgrade if the license is up to 3 back. One of my colleagues just told me he got off the phone with one of our CDW account managers who handles the purchases for us. He said the CDW rep told him that after CS6 is released, Adobe is changing their upgrade eligibility policies that will only allow upgrade pricing for the last version. Is this true?
Lately I've noticed my browser(s) hanging forever with a message in the status bar proclaiming something like "transferring data from l.addthiscdn.com". Does any one know of a trick to stop this? Perhaps in GreaseMonkey, Stylish, Adblock or whatever? Thanks in advance.____________Wo Tai Lao Le我太老了
Does anyone know what the philosophy is for the above forum at http://feedback.photoshop.com/This is nothing like any of the other forums as it is non-product specific.Who answers these questions? Is Adobe employees involved in the answers? This is not the Feedback forum of last year for certain.
What's the maximum size image that the forum software will show without scaling it down?I thought, in the old software, it was 450px (or 449px?). So I make a habit of trying to make sure any screenshots I post are less than that, so readers can see the full image without having to click on it, and so there arent any artifacts in most of the images. But I've noticed recently that this doesn't seem to work. For instance, today I posted a 440x223px image. But the forum software scales it down to 310x157px to display it.What are the real thresholds?
I agree that, in the not extremely frequent occasions in which I can still answer specific product questions, I seem to be the champion in choosing poor lost souls who never find their way back to the forums. Having just reached the 1000 point mark in spite of this therefore looks to me as some sort of feat, and expected to be congratulated for it. I am disappointed.
With the photoshop forum going cross platform others will surly follow. In many cases the platform will not make any difference in the answer. However, problems with third party sofware and misc. hardware can make a difference. So, is is possible to have a couple of generic boxes added to each reply window the has a check mark for Mac or Windows? May be less confusing.
Good day to all.Just new here so please be gentle. Do any of you still retain the older version of adobe when you upgrade to the latest software? Like for example CS4 and having CS5.5 on your PC? Since you have license, are we allowed to use both or directly use the newer version and discard the old one? Just want to know what to do on these kind of situation. Thanks!
Or is it just broken?http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/adobedotcom_feedback?view=discussions
Over on the Acrobat Windows forum there have been a lot of old post poppin up lately. I usually don't respond, but today failed to notice the date on this one: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4099957#4099957Is this a bug or are they cropping up due to someone's intentional action?
Hi,I know the first comment I'll receive here is that this isn't the correct forum, I simply haven't found any forum that fits my discussion, feel free to move/re-route.Has such a massive company as Adobe lost the connection with it's users? I've spent over 3 hours looking for a simple place to contact customer service on a topic that isn't listed in a dropbox and/or doesn't appear on the FAQ. Can't a user simply choose "other/my topic isn't on the list", file his complaint and have it handled without international calls or cumbersome endless looping menus? If anyone has a contact email or any other fashion that would allow a simple "contact customer service", it'd be greatly apperciaited and IMHO I belive that Adobe.com should allow users in some distint and crazy scenerios to actuall contact someone.R.
Long URLs appear to format with spaces in the output, which makes them look wrong. The link goes to the right place, but if you cut and paste you may be on your own. Here's an example post in the testing forum: Long link test. Here's a snapshot from Firefox of the link with the space in it and the source to the page showing that there is indeed a space in the link text, it's not some kind of weird browser formatting issue:But here's what it looks like from the forum editing interface. No space:What gives? This has been going on since the upgrade, I think.
As the title says, I found today that I cannot sent PMs to some participants. One of them is Jacob Bugge, another is dave milbut; their names are not recognized even when copying and pasting from their profiles. I have tried a couple of other participants who have been recognized without problems.Anyoner knows how to do it?
The three words "Let it know" has special meaning as far as Google is concerned. I suggest type them in the search box and you will literally see snow on the screen.Allow the snow for 5 minutes and your screen will be frosted! The good news is that a button is provided to defrost the screen.Merry Christmas.
Using the new Photoshop forum I am wondering if the Modify Date column actually works. I am assuming that the Modify columns reflects the last time the post was updated.I took a post 20 minutes old and edited it. Modify and Last Post date stayed the same.I then edited and checked the edit box. Again no change in the columns.I then took a post 2 days old and did the same thing with edits. Again the Modify and Last Post still stayed at 2 days. What gives?
No matter what I check, or don't check, in forum email notification preferences, I can't stop getting an e-mail notification whenever anyone posts in this forum. How do I stop it???Thanks,David
When I want to report spam, I use a bookmark that takes me to the first message in the Spam forum. If I click on the "Reply" button of this first message, I get the box for writing my report, but the "last" message above it is #49. not the #282 which is the last at the time of wrinting this:When posted, my report appears where it should, but this is annoying. I have observed this for some time now -at least for some weeks- but I had not noticed how annoying it is until Sunday, when I had to post many times there. This happens in Firefox/Mac, but I have just checked and it also happens in Safari/Win 7. And it also happens in other long threads: trying to reply to their first message takes me below message #49, not below the last. Also, if I click on the Latest Reply button instead, I am at least taken to the last page of the thread, but not to the last message.Anyone else?
Hello!I'm in process of opening a small video production studio. Wanting to make everything legal, I went to check prices of Adobe software. Here in Croatia, where I'm located, Adobe Production Premium 5.5 is priced at 15.000 Kuna, which is cca. $3.000. Then I checked Adobe online store and found same package at price of $1.700. But when I wanted to buy it, it was available only to US.So, can anyone explain me why I have to pay almost double the price for same piece of software? And why isn't it available online for me to buy at $1.700?As I found out by little research, average salary in US in 2010/2011. is around $70.000 which comes out around $5.800 a month. Do you know what is average monthly salary in Croatia? Aprox. 5.500 Kn which is $1.000. So, while someone in US can buy three Adobe packages in one month, I have to work three months to buy one. Also, when I contacted our BSA and asked if I could buy software in US, import it and pay taxes for it, they said "No!". And that "No!" is
I don't recall having read anything about this in these forums...http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/adobe-creative-cloud-and-adobe-creative-suite-new-choices-for-customers.html?PID=2159997
I like to have my email address visible to registered users. With the old forum, that worked. With the new software, I go to my Profile, click on Edit forums profile & privacy, choose Privacy Settings, and set profile field Email as visible to Registered Users.Click Save. Logout. Log back in, check the field, and it has reverted to Yourself. What gives? Why can't I make my email address visible?I'm not worried about spam, I get so much that there's no danger of it becoming measurably greater.Does this work for anyone else? Thanks!
First time we've noticed in the new software, I'm afraid? Uhoh.Over in InDesign Scripting, in post #24 of Re: [JS] Menu Added via Scripting Moves, Harbs noted that my prior post (#23) didn't show up in the web interface. Presumably because he got in email. I got the emails for Harbs' two posts, but when I looked in the web interface, they didn't appear either.I was using adobe-vm-wa06.sgvm2hosted.jiveland.com according to my jive.server.info cookie. Dropping cookies and reloading the page fixed it. Has anyone else seen this, and what do we do other than "tell Jive it's still an issue"?
