I'm just back from a week on the road during which I stayed connected via an iPad 2...I could (and did) post on these forums, but I:Could not access any formatting features during message entry. The editor box was plain, with none of the controls you see above it when accessing the forum from a computer.Could not edit a post once submitted. I was presented with a message to the effect, "your device can only add content, it cannot edit it".I'm surprised to see that the Jive forum software, which is brand new as of a few months ago, BARELY supports iPad access, even though the Safari implementation on the iPad is quite complete. I can edit posts on Safari on PC, so it's not a Safari issue. What's up with this? I'd really like to have better / more complete access to the forums while on the road. The iPad itself is certainly more than capable of operating all the fancy features. Does the forum software think the iPad has too small a display or is underpowered?
I just went to the forum on my iPhone while at lunch. I was surprised to see the mobile version. I have a few observations. First, there's no way to log-in or to reply to the threads.Second, it is so slow loading that I thought the phone had crashed.Third, there's no option for smart devices to use the full web based view.Fourth, it is so slow, did I mention that?Fifth, as far as I know the forum worked just fine on the iPad, iPhone, even iPpod touch, and even on the Android (no direct experience here) so why the change?Sixth, many placed images and placed videos don't show up.You just get an error code for the images. Makes it real hard to answer questions. While I was writing this post somehow I stumbled on a page that showed all recent posts from all forums. The tab at the top says Everyone. You get there by using the back button. There was a log-in button at the top but the log-in isn't working. The funny thing about this home page is that it is very fast, but there's also no way to
I can't download Adobe Flash player on my Mac. I have tried several times in the last 6 months. I have read the directions. I have called, read until my eyeballs feel like they are going to fall our and spent countless hours days weeks months trying to fix this. Sorry I am computer illiterate. I called Mac. Sorry lady we can't help you install 3rd party software. hahahhahahaha. Adobe says pay us 39.00 for technical support. In the meantime I can't even open a friends email website. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I will cancel online Netflix and go back to the dark ages of viewing videos. This totally sucks!!!!!!!! Apple sucks for not helping [Steve Crawford you were a jerk to me, sorry I was not born in a time of technology but I am from an era where people were polite to each other. Guess you missed that boat.} hahahahahhahahahahahahahaha yes I am finally venting after months of frustration!
I have been using Adobe software for over 20 years…Like many users of Adobe products I have upgraded to 5.5 from 4 to avoid the expense of buying 6 at the full clout. At the time it was announced, I took it on the chin and in my bank balance and purchased an upgrade that I would probably have not and got 6 instead. I have now had 5.5 for a little over two weeks and I wish I'd ignored the hype and stayed with 4 (top that with the 'ahem' purchase extension now on offer). It has truly been an education in the old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it'. Since using illustrator and photoshop 5.5 in that time I have found the 'new' software clunky, full of bugs and with an interface that looks like 1980's word software (particulary acrobat!). All that seems to have improved is making it lock, fail, break and crash more often.A little over £500.00 to 'upgrade'. The only upgrade that has occurred is in Adobe's wallet. Thanks a bunch Adobe, not only did you stitch me up financially, but you got m
Dear Adobe, i'm a small business owner who tries to do things the right way ( I don't illegally download your software like others I've known ) and because of that I'm kinda feeling screwed right now. Very recently I upgraded my creative suite for the sole purpose of staying on your upgrade path (that you changed at the 11th hour very unfairly). At the time I was disgruntled that you were basically forcing me to buy a product at the end of it's lifecylce. Trust me, if I had wanted to purchase CS5/5.5 I would have done it shortly after it's release and got good use out of it. As we all know at the end of 2011 you declared that the upgrade policies have changed and therefor my CS4 was very soon going to be defunct for future upgrades. Of course having my arm twisted even though cash is tight, I upgraded anyway as your product is something I rely on. Today while browseing Cnet I see you're now offering upgrades from CS3/CS4 through 2012.... Yeah, now after dropping a thousand dollars I di
I did not identify this problem the first few times it happened, but today I have more evidence. It seems that sometimes the forum accepts a post, sends out email about it to thread subscribers, and somehow deletes the post without the intevention of the poster.I've seen this happen a few times, but just thought the post was deleted by the poster [for some reason].But today I have a clear example: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4137792#4137792(You will have to merge the URL by hand, because the forum software refuses to let me post it. Wow!)The poster complains in the next post about how his previous post disappeared: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4137889#4137889I've seen this happen on a few occasions in more than one forum, but I assumed the deletion was deliberate. Can someone (John?) tell us why the system thinks that post was removed? Thanks!
When typing responses I keep getting a warning message "a is a null". It happens multiple times while I am typing message.Has happended on this forum and on Bridge forum today. Have not typed response on any other forums today.
Scheduled for 6pm, Pacific time. Forums should be in maintenance mode for 15-20 minutes to kill off a couple of hung query processes that are eating up memory.Sorry for the inconvenience. Hoping this clears up the two major crashes in the past two days. Thanks!Adobe Forums Team
This issue is so simple that I cannot find related info in any forums. I mean, all you have to do is open a PDF, and select save as, image, the type of image file, and browse your machine for a location. I get all that, except it just doesn't work. Nothing happens. I've reinstalled Acrobat X Standard, reinstalled Microsoft Office, and have been searching online for an answer for several hours. It has to be something fundamental, but I just can't get there and this issue is a show-stopper for me as I use this functionality constantly for presentations and proposals. Please, if anyone has specific information about how too fix this I would sincerely appreciate any relevant advice. Thanks,Dan
As many of you probably noticed, we had two major outages the last two days. I noticed because I got phone calls from our monitors and from Jive at 2:30 am and 6:30 am.Background on the issue is that it was a memory/disk space issue. It was caused because we requested more frequent database dumps for analytics. The issue should be resolved, as Jive has added an additional node just for the analytics this morning.Sorry about the inconvenience. Thanks for being part of the Forums!
I tried to post a question here about a missing post, and the forum software returned "Unexpected error" and ate my carefully typed post,so I had to reconstruct it from memory, which was painful and annoying. Why did it do that? If it going to reject a post because of soem content restriction that is going to misfire, can it be set up to do so in a way that does not make forum users lose work? The post I was trying to make was: Disappearing posts -- forum bug? http://forums.adobe.com/message/4137966#4137966My diagnostics to determine the cause of the filter were this in the testing forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/948854Thanks!
The company I work for has dozens of licenses of adobe CS3 software. We are getting ready to upgrade to CS5.5 before CS6 is released so that we don't lose the upgradeability. I know as of now, you can upgrade if the license is up to 3 back. One of my colleagues just told me he got off the phone with one of our CDW account managers who handles the purchases for us. He said the CDW rep told him that after CS6 is released, Adobe is changing their upgrade eligibility policies that will only allow upgrade pricing for the last version. Is this true?
Lately I've noticed my browser(s) hanging forever with a message in the status bar proclaiming something like "transferring data from l.addthiscdn.com". Does any one know of a trick to stop this? Perhaps in GreaseMonkey, Stylish, Adblock or whatever? Thanks in advance.____________Wo Tai Lao Le我太老了
Does anyone know what the philosophy is for the above forum at http://feedback.photoshop.com/This is nothing like any of the other forums as it is non-product specific.Who answers these questions? Is Adobe employees involved in the answers? This is not the Feedback forum of last year for certain.
What's the maximum size image that the forum software will show without scaling it down?I thought, in the old software, it was 450px (or 449px?). So I make a habit of trying to make sure any screenshots I post are less than that, so readers can see the full image without having to click on it, and so there arent any artifacts in most of the images. But I've noticed recently that this doesn't seem to work. For instance, today I posted a 440x223px image. But the forum software scales it down to 310x157px to display it.What are the real thresholds?
I agree that, in the not extremely frequent occasions in which I can still answer specific product questions, I seem to be the champion in choosing poor lost souls who never find their way back to the forums. Having just reached the 1000 point mark in spite of this therefore looks to me as some sort of feat, and expected to be congratulated for it. I am disappointed.
With the photoshop forum going cross platform others will surly follow. In many cases the platform will not make any difference in the answer. However, problems with third party sofware and misc. hardware can make a difference. So, is is possible to have a couple of generic boxes added to each reply window the has a check mark for Mac or Windows? May be less confusing.
Good day to all.Just new here so please be gentle. Do any of you still retain the older version of adobe when you upgrade to the latest software? Like for example CS4 and having CS5.5 on your PC? Since you have license, are we allowed to use both or directly use the newer version and discard the old one? Just want to know what to do on these kind of situation. Thanks!
Or is it just broken?http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/adobedotcom_feedback?view=discussions
Over on the Acrobat Windows forum there have been a lot of old post poppin up lately. I usually don't respond, but today failed to notice the date on this one: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4099957#4099957Is this a bug or are they cropping up due to someone's intentional action?
Hi,I know the first comment I'll receive here is that this isn't the correct forum, I simply haven't found any forum that fits my discussion, feel free to move/re-route.Has such a massive company as Adobe lost the connection with it's users? I've spent over 3 hours looking for a simple place to contact customer service on a topic that isn't listed in a dropbox and/or doesn't appear on the FAQ. Can't a user simply choose "other/my topic isn't on the list", file his complaint and have it handled without international calls or cumbersome endless looping menus? If anyone has a contact email or any other fashion that would allow a simple "contact customer service", it'd be greatly apperciaited and IMHO I belive that Adobe.com should allow users in some distint and crazy scenerios to actuall contact someone.R.
Long URLs appear to format with spaces in the output, which makes them look wrong. The link goes to the right place, but if you cut and paste you may be on your own. Here's an example post in the testing forum: Long link test. Here's a snapshot from Firefox of the link with the space in it and the source to the page showing that there is indeed a space in the link text, it's not some kind of weird browser formatting issue:But here's what it looks like from the forum editing interface. No space:What gives? This has been going on since the upgrade, I think.
As the title says, I found today that I cannot sent PMs to some participants. One of them is Jacob Bugge, another is dave milbut; their names are not recognized even when copying and pasting from their profiles. I have tried a couple of other participants who have been recognized without problems.Anyoner knows how to do it?
The three words "Let it know" has special meaning as far as Google is concerned. I suggest type them in the search box and you will literally see snow on the screen.Allow the snow for 5 minutes and your screen will be frosted! The good news is that a button is provided to defrost the screen.Merry Christmas.
Using the new Photoshop forum I am wondering if the Modify Date column actually works. I am assuming that the Modify columns reflects the last time the post was updated.I took a post 20 minutes old and edited it. Modify and Last Post date stayed the same.I then edited and checked the edit box. Again no change in the columns.I then took a post 2 days old and did the same thing with edits. Again the Modify and Last Post still stayed at 2 days. What gives?
