RoboHelp

In RH20127, I kept geeting a note that breadcrumbs did not work in DHTML5 output.  Is that still the case with RH2020?  

So, I created a Skin, but it isn't available on the Layout tab for the WebHelp output.So I have to "save" the skin somewhere? Thanks for the help?

I am trying to publish a newly created project in the latest version of Robohelp and need some guidance.  I have the project saved on my local drive and need to publish it to the same location.  When I set up to publish this project I must have done something wrong because I cannot locate the published project anywhere on my local drive.  In addition, it seems that alot of the Asset documents did not copy.I relaize this is a fairly vague description, but if someone could point me to a tutorial about how to publish a project to a local drive using the latest version of Robohelp, it would really help.  Thank you.

I inherited a big help project that was maintained by someone who retired. I can make updates and such, but I need to migrate it from Classic to modern so we can source control the project.I managed to convert the project, but when I view the output, I'm seeing a project within a project. Also, the inner project seems to be trying to load the home page (index?, I'm not sure what it's called).Any thoughts on what's going on here? Other than adding/editing topics, I don't know much about Robohelp. Thanks!  

I'm currently using RH 2017, Responsive Layout.   I have used RH for 5+ years and I still have a lot of trouble creating the PDF.  We deliver both a PDF and a .html file to customers.  The PDF is only certain sections of the .html document, but it's still significant at about 600 pages.  I first generate the Word document.  This file requires that I spend probably 4-6 hours formatting it, fixing page breaks (so they are logical and clean!) , reducing/enlarging images so they look "normal" on a piece of paper, removing the dumb duplicate section titles,  adjusting table  sizes, heading rows, etc.  AND then, when I generate the PDF from the finally fixed Word doc, the numbered headers do not always display correctly as bookmarks, so I spend even more time re-creating about 60% of them.  For example, the numbering format in 1.0 Overview will display as just "Overview" in the PDF bookmarks, but 2.0 Installation, might display correctly

I'm about to migrate all the RH2017 content into a RH2020 project but I don't plan to mirror the same structure.  Here's the situation: I need build a project that uses different menus for different types of users.  The plan is to build a landing page to present information buckets for carriers, vendors, suppliers, and SaaS users and point them to the page with the menu relevant for them.  I don't want to create separate projects for each because SaaS users will be using 100% of the content; whereas, carriers, vendors, and suppliers will use smaller portions of the same.  The content for all information types is cross-referenced throughout.  So, the entire project content needs to be single-source.  Am I going down the wrong path on a way to create different information buckets that make use of the same content?  Is there a better way?  I'm thinking that there probably is. 🙂 Thank you!

What's happening? Is this some kind of sophisticated mockery of the user?       

The box is not closing after pressing Print button until second try. This is intermittent. After second press it will close but prints two docs. Anyone run into this and have a workaround? BTW, this is in Explorer as it is the browser used only for users...Thanks, Jeff K.

As we lost the original source code of project but we have its generated "WebHelp" directory content,can we generate the its original/new project from its earlier generated output?Please help me out here..

We had a harddrive crash with, yep - I know, no backups of this particular server.  I have an old copy of my project from 2015, but I really don't want to lose 5 years worth of updates. I do have the most current version published to the web and have brought it down to our server to try to decompile.  Unfortunately, the RoboWizard site that was offered as a soulation 10 years ago on this forum is no longer available.  I have purchased the newest version of RoboHelp.  And I do still have a copy of the old 2015 version if necessary.   Has anyone got any ideas on what to do?  Thank you in advance!  

When I click on an SSL to generate a Word doc, RoboHelp starts the geneation process, but doesn't complete. The typical 'Generating Printed Documentation' dialog appears, but then the 'Convert File' dialog pop-up window appears in the background with 'HTML Document' highlighted. Once this 'Convert File' dialog box appears, RH just hangs and doesn't generate a Word doc. Any advance on what's going on and how to fix this issue.

Robohelp 2020.5Windows 10Frameless outputHi all.After we generate a new output and publish it to our website, ToC goes to be broken for almost all users from different IPs, locations, PC's. Topics from Section A can be in Section C, etc. For example: And correct variant: Right now SNNP section contain 4 topics from Databases. (What is interesting, is that Databases section containss 300+ topics and SNMP section only 4, which means that ToC takes the real number of topics in current section and after that puts wrong topics). Locally - everything is fine, so we are thinking this is cookies issue.Our upload algorithm - delete all content of previous output -> upload new in empty folder We tried different browser, incognito mod, cache and cookie clearing - nothing. We also tried to go from empty VM - same result. Only 2% of computers display ToC correctly (we don't know why) 

Hi~I've tried to add a SFTP server type to publish profiles. But Robohelps pops up following message:Invalid Servers.Empty or non validated fields in following servers.But actually I can access this server via FileZilla tools normally. The IP address, user id, password were double checked correctly.Could anyone let me know the reason? Thanks.

Hi all,   Is anyone producing eBook output? What do I need to do to get it to work?   In About Robohelp I created the preset and filled out the minimum stuff like output path. Generated with no errors. However looking at the log includes the line "Warning failed to copy". I don't know what this means as the mobi file is in the directory?   I downloaded freda (ebook reader) from the Windows Store but it doesn't seem to be able to open the ebook. It just sits there spinning the hard drive (I think it's about to achieve orbital velocity...).   All suggestions welcome.

Hi, Robohelp: How to add a Subtopic in the TOC. The Subtopic is a hyperlink and appears on the Main page TOC contain Introduction. But I also need List of API in the TOC. how do i add this?  Requesting someone to help me with this.

Hi Guys,I installed a font (Quicksand) for my RoboHelp project which I have put into my .css file so it can be seen on computers that do not have it installed. I've tested this and it all works fine apart from when using the search feature of my frameless output - here, the Quicksand font is replaced by the default (times new roman), even for the title of the project. I have currently have the .ttf file in my project files, and have used the @11220649-face method to code the font into the .css file, but it just doesn't want to stay in the search results page...Any ideas??Thanks 

My program uses both hh.exe and help.ShowHelp() and only showHelp works now. The hh.exe works for my older .chm builds from RH 11, but not for 2020. Does anyone know why?

Hello everyone, hope you're all ok. I'm having an hard time customizing the links attached to the header logo and title in my Responsive HTML5 Output. When I edit the Output preset, I can see there's a field under the "Layout" section that should do just that... but nothing changes in my output files. I tried entering a web URL in that field and I tried selecting a specific topic from my project. No luck... the URL in the header doesn't seems to change.(Yes, I emptied my browser's cache and tried with different browsers too.) I am using RoboHelp version 2020.5.71.Any suggestion? Thank you guys!

Have I got this right? In RH2020, the following structure is not possible in the printed output table of contents?   What's New - Current Release 2020 - January - June 2019 - January - March - August   Instead, I'll end up with   - Current Release - January - June - January - March - August  

Hello everyone, I am updating an old Robohelp Classic document to RH2020 however I am having issues with my Index. Some of the formatting was changed when converting over (it appears due to using colons in the original Keywords) and during my attempts to edit the Keywords in question the Keyword reverts to their original state. I then tried deleting the old Keywords and upon deleting them they instantly reappear in my Index. I am able to add new Keywords and Topics but appear unable to edit or delete old ones. Could my Index keywords be locked in some way? Or is this a bug? RH2020.5.71 on Windows 10. Thanks,Sean

I have a very large project in which I inherited some files. I have been in the process of designating an image from my Contents > Assets > Images folder instead of an image located in a created folder.Previous to the Rh2020.5.71 update, I was able to click on Insert Images, search a file name, and hover over the file name to read the file path of where it was located.  Now I cannot do that.  I either have to navigate to the file or guess.Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a workaround?I created RH-9770 to report the issue.

I'm doing a thorough index edit on my RoboHelp project and, every 10 or so topics, RoboHelp displays that there has been an error, and I should save my work and restart RoboHelp. Here is the error:  I have upgraded this project to RH 2020 and have installed the latest updates. It works better now then it did in RoboHelp 2019 (or whatever version I had before upgrading). Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thank you,Cindy 

I just got RH 2020, previously using RH 2017. In the old version, we could link to a source file in Word, publish in RH, but make changes to our source file. In RH 2020, I cannot figure out how to do that. When I select Insert > Link > , Cross Reference and Hyperlink are the only two options I see.
