Hello, Our clients have recently informed us of several display issues when using the legacy version of Microsoft Edge (non-Chromium). We have created output using the Orange skin. I have tested and confirmed all these issues by creating a new, blank project, using an unmodified Orange skin, and observing the results. The issues are as follows:The Home page displays a large gap between the drilldown tils at the top and any content you select for the home pageThis appears to be due to an incorrect "calc" in layout.css that Legacy Edge interprets incorrectly. In Chrome and FF, it correctly shows as 100% - 29em. Legacy Edge shows it as -29em + 100%The home page footer displays in the middle of the linked topic content, likely due to #1Content on topic pages does not display. Only the breadcrumb headres for the topic show. This only occurs on a web server environtment; this works as expected locally. I have noticed that the console in Edge Legacy reports errors with the open
RH2020.1 Output is Responsive HTML5 using Azure Blue skin. When I perform a search, the results panel displays the breadcrumbs/URL for some topics, but not all. It's odd. Thoughts?
Where do you specify/configure the number of characters from a topic to display as a preview/context for a topic that's returned in the search results? This is the text that includes a search keyword(s) that is displayed between the topic title and topic search breadcrumb/path (aka wSearchURL). This is for RoboHelp 2020 Responsive HTML5 output that's using the Azure_Blue skin.
I am looking for suggestions for troubleshooting. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything similar. I have a project that I have upgraded from RH 2019 Classic to RH 2020 update 2. The project compiled OK in RH 2019 Classic. When I compile using the same TOC in RH 2020, no topics are visible in the TOC, except the default topic and a topic almost at the bottom of the structure. I can see some books, but not all, and the structure is incorrect. When I search the project, it seems that all topics are in there, just not available from the TOC. I checked the log, and there are a couple of missing images, and there are also some broken links, but that should not cause such issues. I have tried using the same TOC to create a PDF and that worked OK. Would the easiest workaround be to create another TOC? The structure is pretty long, so it would be quite time consuming. Regards,Rannveig
In RH 2020, I have a top navigation menu with about 7 to 8 items. I think after a fixed width it just hides the remaining items. Is it possible to wrap then and show on the next line? Something like this?A | B | C | D | EF | G
How to insert a PDF in the Robohelp File. I am using Robohelp Classic 2019. Please help
Hello, all, We have recently had customer reports of an issue using the latest versions of Firefox with our localized help systems. This includes the latest ESR releases. It seems that Firefox does not display Asian-language text or extended ASCII charachters correctly. Extended characters include things like the HTML em-dash. The files look as expected when viewed locally. It is only when we view them online in a web server environment that the issue occurs. We have tested this by creating a new project from scratch an applying an unmodified Orange frameless skin preset to it. Has anyone else encountered these issues? Screenshots follow to as a demonstration. Firefox on QA server: Firefox viewed locally: Thank you for any help you can provide.
Hi everyone, I'm using the latest version of RH 2020. This isn't a bug per say - but user error. I'm looking to see if there's a relatively easy fix. In short: My heading tags apear to be partly in the wrong order in the Contents page. It appears that the H1 and H2 tags etc in HTML seem be applied to the wrong headers. Is there a way I can modify stylesheet to change this? See what I mean below. Create, open and close jobs should be 'normal - where as the headers below should indented - if that makes sense?
RH 2017 latest versionHTML5 merged help We are working on redesigning our introductory page, and we want to load it by itself, not in full-context view. Is there a way to do this? Our introductory page is intro.htm. It resides in one of a child help named "helpcentertopics". The redirect javascript from the parent help points to that page already. It's also the default page of child help where it resides, but RoboHelp by default opens in full-context mode. For example, selecting the Help menu from our application it's using map number 60001 which defaults to intro.htm and it opens in full-context view.https://docs-dev.hexagonmi.com/pcdmis/2021.1/en/helpcenter/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&rhmapno=60001 We want to tell RoboHelp to open just this topic by itself, like this in the URL:https://docs-dev.hexagonmi.com/pcdmis/2021.1/en/helpcenter/mergedProjects/helpcentertopics/intro.htm It's currently opening this, showing the TOC etc:https://docs-dev.hexagonmi.com/
I am trying out RH 2020 trial version. I chose the layout with the top navigation. It works very well for topics that need immediate attention. However, is it possible to still show the existing elaborate ToC on the left, on demand, or on click or something. For example, I have 4 things in the top navigation:Help | FAQs | KBs | Videos | Release NotesWhen I click Help, can I show the left navigation? The rest of the 3 work great in the top navigation.
I want to change the spacing of one line of text. I want to put more space before and after. This was accomplished in pervious version by right-clicking the mouse and selecting 'Paragraph'. You could then amend the spacing. I have not found how to do this in verison 2019.
My name is Sean Gallagher, and I have been a (Macromedia) Adobe RoboHelp Certified Instructor since 2006. Typically, teaching RoboHelp has been one of many Adobe courses that I’ve taught, and the product had been built on the same code base up until version 2019 (non-classic). Now I’m seeing more demand for RoboHelp, but lately new issues are, well, TOTALLY new. I’ve wrangled with Node.js before. Often a command line directive would be used for such issues for other applications of Node.js. In the past, I would have advised that students convert a PDF to an HTML topic for integration into RH. Is RH2019 somehow reading and indexing the PDFs that are added to the RH2019 project? This would actually be fantastic...but I need to know where to go to try to resolve such issues. I want to tell Sue that once RoboHelp sends such JavaScript errors….you will HAVE to kill the program using the Task M
We are getting server errors when attempting to access webhelp produced by RH17 on a server with a name that starts with the letters "hbc". On the server that starts with "aah" that has a copy of the same webhelp, we are not getting the errors. (In fact, we are not getting errors accessing webhelp on any other client server.) All files for the webhelp frame are loading except the htm file in the frame on the right. And I get the same error entering a url for just a single htm file. And the application is having no problems running on both servers. The browser errors are "We can't connect to the server at h" or "h's server ip address could not be found." As you can see, the server name is getting concatenated to "h" in the error messages. Has anyone run into a similar problem with webhelp? Thanks.

Hi, Using the new feature on sentences containing links doesn't give same output than the ones without links. Ce texte correspond à la valeur du paramètre TEXT_FILIGRANE.Give those different sentences as english result :Text of the watermark inserted when the document is exported from the documentary portal. This text corresponds to the value of the TEXT_FILIGRANE setting.Text of the watermark inserted during the export of the document since the documentary portal. This text corresponds to the value of the setting TEXT_FILIGRANE. As we can see, the translation without the links is using whole sentence as a bunch and is more accurate. The one with links translating the "
RoboHelp 2020.1 Quick question - the TopNavigation frameless skin doesn't offer/include the mini TOC feature, does it? It wasn't obvious in the skin's settings and I'm not sure where/how it'd be surfaced in the output anyway. I do love the mini TOC feature in the other frameless skins.
I am trying to onboard a new joiner on RH HTML 2017 (as part of TCS). The entire department of ~20 people has been using this version successfully since release and previous versions since 2010, but the new joiner gets a "Parameter is incorrect" error when she tries to open the printed documentation dialog. After the error, the window does open, but all the fields (conditional build expression, TOC, glossary etc) are blank. The Generate Word DOC field either displays .doc or is blank as well. (All the other team members also have the docx option.)Environment:TCS 2017 on Windows 7OS deployed by ITTCS installed manually by usAdmin rights on our own machines. All the files are local, nothing networked. We use SVN, but the crash happens for projects outside source control too.The crash replicates for the RH samples as well. The crash replicates in RH 2015 as well.I consider myself fairly experienced with RH but this has been stumping me for 3 days! I am fairly sure the problem is with h
Is it possible to modify the font size of TOC items for Responsive HTML5 output? I have accessed the edit function for the skin (I have been using 'Azure_Blue' for quite a few years), but cannot see any option for the font size - only colour. I have changed the font size for my content to be 16px and the TOC entries look tiny in comparison. I am using RoboHelp v 2020. Thanks.
Hi, Everyone. I'm creating a new RH project (2019, new UI) and am looking for a way to "create a template" -- i.e., a page layout based on an existing RH project. Here's what I have: An MS Word document that I will import. A CSS file I will pull into the new project.A recently completed RH project, whose pages all share the same layout.I want to recreate that page layout in a new RH project. I want my new RH project to have the same page layout as my existing RH project. It seems there must be a way to achieve this without manually configuring each page. I've tried using a Master Page for this. But unless I'm doing it wrong, the Master Page is of only limited help. Any advice for me? Thank you!
We have published Update 2 for the latest release of RoboHelp. You can apply the update from Help > Check for Updates or you can download the update from https://www.adobe.com/support/robohelp/downloads.html. Here are more details about this update: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/fixed-issues.html. WARNING - If your project contains links in the TOC to asset files (baggage files) such as PDFs, please hold off updating as such links will not work pending a fix that is being worked on. Links to such files from topics are not affected.
I used to generate native apps from RoboHelp 2019.RoboHelp 2020 doesn't have this option.Anyone has a suggestion on how to come to native apps without programming knowledge?
I upgraded a project from RoboHelp 2017 to version 2020 and I am having all sorts of issues with styles. The styles attached to my css are available to use however, they do not appear to be applying correctly. For example, I have a 'caption' style that is 8pt size font and italics. Yet when I apply it to text, it is defaulting to 10pt. It has 10 pt listed in the html code. I have edited and saved the style multiple times, check the css file etc and I can't seem to get it to recognise the actual style characteristics. It is happening with other styles as well. Is this an upgrade project issue (from 2017 to 2020)? I am finding v 2020 very frustrating as things that used to be so simple are suddenly so slow and complex and/or not working correctly. I am yet to see any benefit to the new version :(. [Moved from Using the Community (which is about the forums) to a better forum... I have a problem with the default.css stylesheet not being applied to .chm output.Everything works OK in Author/Contents (also in Preview). All styles are recognized and applied.I also have a Master Page with its own stylesheet (book.css). This also works fine. When I look into the Source, the reference to default.css is there. The problem is with the generated .chm file. Styles are not applied anywhere, at least not those from default.css. Master Page is still working and displaying its own styles (book.css).When I check the individual .htm files from the unzipped .chm the references to default.css are gone and the only stylesheet references are to _rhdefault.css and book.css.I don't see any errors in Output Generation Log. I checked default.css for errors, but couldn't find any.
Has anyone else encountered this with the new RH upgrade to v14? I installed RoboHelp 2019 on a new machine and without really thinking it through I just ran the updater in the interface to update it (unknowingly to the latest patch v14). Yes, I know, that was dumb. The RH 2019 Classic version I had installed on the old machine was v10. When I opened the 2019 project on the RH 2019 Classic v14 machine, I noticed that snippet properties weren't accurately showing all of the topics in which a snippet was used. I downgraded to v10 and that seemed to fix the problem with snippets. However, today I notice that the variable properties are not showing all of the topics in which a variable is used. This is a pretty big deal for me because this project has thousands of variables used across hundreds of topics and hundreds of snippets. I tried a complete uninstall/reinstall/upgrade to v10 on the machine, but the problem remains. The only way to fix
Hi Folks, I have RH 2019. A new hire has RH 2020.When collaborating, we’re getting an error message telling us that this file was created in a new version, i.e. 2020, and we need to upgrade?I’m concerned that his projects will not be compatible with mine.Is it possible to upgrade 2019 to 2020 or do I have to get a new license?
