I am using RoboHelp 9 for one of my projects. I am generating Microsoft HTML Help output, and when done generating, the dialog asks if I want to view PRO.chm (the name of my project). I open it and view the CHM fine. When I go to find the actual PRO.chm in File Explorer, I search and cannot find it. (I've been working with RH for 25 years, so I'm not a complete newbie, but this has me baffled.)
Hi grouphas anyone converted a RoboHelp project to DITA yet? Any best practices, approaches you wish to share?ThanksYves
Hi everyone, I'm using the new version of RoboHelp 2019. When inserting multiple snippets into a topic, some snippets get duplicated outside of the snippet box below. When I delete the excessive text below the snippet and output, the unwanted text remains. When I check HTML view, it's gone. When I save and restart RH, the duplicate text returns in the editor view again too. I try new pages, still happens. It seems to be something inside the snippet causing this bug.
I'm building a new version of our HTML5 help with the reimagined robohelp and try to use our company font. For the body I've managed to make it available everywhere I've tested by importing an online font.css pasting the following line at the beginning of my default.css (ofcourse the [font.css url] is replaced by the actual url).@1552174 url("[font.css url]");Now my problem is, that I can't seem to use the same font across all platforms for the toc and title, as Robohelp won't recognize it. I've found it should be embedded in the layout.css that is created while building the output. On a local build I've added the line of code to layout.css after the build was finished and the effect is perfect. However, we're using an automated Jenkins build, so I can't simply paste my fonts source into this. Now my question is the following: Is there a way for me to either create a font set that can refer to the online fonts that is used throughout the project (and not just in the body tex
One of our help projects, built with RoboHelp 2015, uses the output of web help. When using Internet Explorer 11, the help pages, table of contents, index and search are all displayed properly. But with Chrome or Edge, the pane for TOC, index and search contains no infomation. (See attachment.) We upgraded to Robohelp 2019, but find the new RoboHelp is different enough, that for occasional users like us, it's not clear what I need to do to fix this problem. I have not been successful in finding solutions though web searches at Adobe or in general. Can someone offer step-by-step guidance on how to display the contents for the TOC, Index and Search tabs? Thanks!
What are the RoboHelp requirements for transparent PNG files? RoboHelp is not happy with the transparent PNG files we generate. We increased color depth as has been suggested, but no joy.
I just updated my RH 2019 to latest .14 version from .11 and then simply changed one page on my current project, recompiled and regenerated output and my entire set of pages did not show on right side. The topics show on left but when i click the topic the page on right gets 404 - not found. Using Responsive HTML5 output HELP - is there something that needed to be done to update a 2019.0.11 version to .14. I am using the new version - not classic
Is Adobe releasing RH 2020? If so, when? I created a bug about 2 issues in RH 2019 and the response I got was: "thanks for your inputs. Second point is resolved in 2020 release. We will take up first point also soon in 2020 update." What does THAT mean? Year 2020? Version 2020? A RH 2019 update which was released in 2020 (clue in "resolved" = past tense, so it was fixed?) It's very frustrating that the answer is not clear to me... this isn't the first time, either. I responded to the comment but I still have not gotten an answer, so I'm coming here to ask. Is Adobe releasing a 2020 version of RH?
RoboHelp 2017 - latest versionNotice that the up and down arrows on the right pane of the Print Document Section Layout dialog box are both grayed out. The same thing happens if I select Chapter layout. If I choose Glossary or Index only the up arrow is visible and the down is grayed out. After 16 years of working with RoboHelp, I don't think I've never encountered this before... Thoughts?
I have RoboHelp 10 integrated with TFS 2013/2015. I just switched to a Windows 10 laptop and I mapped my local folders to TFS slightly differently than before: opening the RH project through version control and creating each local folder. When I check out topics, it is properly reflected in Visual Studio Source Control Explorer, but when I check in a topic, I get this pop-up saying "Parameter is not valid," and the topic is still checked out. There is no title bar in the pop-up so I can't be sure what application is throwing it. I have to check the topic in with Source Control Explorer and then check it in with RoboHelp. What is happening?
HiCan we change the "Home" text in Breadcrumbs? In Frameless skin > Topic Page > Breadcrumbs > Container, the default breadcrumb is Home > Default Topic and the "Home" text is clickable that takes the user to the first book/topic.I would like to change it to, You are here > Topic 1 > Topic 2, etc and I do not want the "You are here" text as clickable.
Hi everyone, When choosing the 'circular number' formatting, I get this effect when generating a PDF - where the circle is crushed. It's fine in settings. It's been fine previously. Any suggestions on how to rectify this? Thanks for your time.
Since Chrome is ending support for Flash at the end of the year, will the RoboHelp Server Admin Panel be updated to not use Flash any longer? What is Adobe's plan to deal with this, does anyone know?Any input/help is appreciated.
Hello RoboHelp Friends,In RH2019, Azure_Blue layout, I added a "Feedback" button as shown in screenshot below. It's supposed to say Feedback and it goes to a URL. However, that space is limited, so it squishes the image down and I can't read the word Feedback. Is there a way we can make it just text and link it to a URL? Or make the image bigger? Thank you so much, Friends.
Hello, I am trying to solve an issue with the Frameless output. It seems that HTML anchors like <a id="foo"></a> do not work properly when the anchor is in a table cell. This also affects headings in a table cell that would be part of the mini-TOC in the right panel. I have tested this in the RoboHelp Reimagined project. Here are the steps I used:Open the RoboHelp Reimagined projectOpen any topic sufficiently long that you need to scroll to see contentsInsert a two row table "below the fold" so that it is not visible when you first open the topic in generated output, but not so far down that it's at the very bottom of the pageIn the first row, insert an H2 with arbitrary textIn second row, insert any text and use the Insert Bookmark button on the editing toolbar to insert any book mark below the text; give the bookmark an arbitrary name (e.g., foo)Select arbitrary text at the top of the topic to link to the bookmark you just createdExample: <a href="#foo"
I am using RH2019 classic and after migrating from RH2015 I don't see my Master_Pages folder under Project Files in the Project Manager pod. When I view the online help, the procedures do not match my UI. For example, I don't see a Project Set up option ; or a Help menu option to use to get the latest Update.
Hi everyone, I'm currently working a masterpage layout for a PDF document in RH. Does anyone have any examples of attractive, easy-to-implement masterpages for PDFs? Or does Adobe have a database or examples built in the RH? Thanks for your time.
Hi everyone,I'm currently looking to style the PDF output of RoboHelp - but I'd like this to be different the web-based output. I know I can have multiple stylesheets, and apply stylesheets to topics. What is the best way to manage this? I want one stylesheet for web, one for PDF output. What's the most effective way to implement them?
I made a CSH. But the display result is different between IE and Chrome. In an IE(left), there is no function bar, but in Chrome(right), the function bar appears. The URL is totally the same.I input : ...\My RoboHelp Projects\OnlineManual\!SSL!\Responsive_HTML5\index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhmapno=2redirected : ...\My RoboHelp Projects\OnlineManual\!SSL!\Responsive_HTML5\First_Topic.htm How can I remove the function-bar like IE?
I'm interested in having certain articles have a "Was this article helpful?" or "Did this answer your question" disclaimer at the bottom. I'd also like there to be a writing option to populate after the user selects either Yes/No. I'd then like to gather the results. Does anyone have any advice on implementing this?
Hello, I currenlty use Robohelp 2015 to create/manage an intenral employee knowledge base for the company I work for. Without going into a massive amount of detail, we are currently going over a major system overhaul and replacing the systems used for our employees to help customers. This new platform has a built in knowledge base and we'd like to start transferring some of our data into this system. I've been asked to compile a list of the topics and all the metadata associated with that topic, but after the past week of trying to figure it out on my own, I'm unable to figure out how to do this. I am just trying to export metadata for each topic, ideally something that shows what images are attached to each topic page as well. Is there a way I can do this?
I'm using RH 2019 (reimagined), update 14, and there are extra spaces sometimes appearing before condition tags that seem impossible to remove. For example, in Author view, note the extra space between InformaCast and Mobile in the following sentence: You will be redirected to a page where you will have to enter your password unless you are already logged into your account, in which case you will be immediately logged into InformaCast Mobile Fusion. The Source view looks like the following: You will be redirected to a page where you will have to enter your password unless you are already logged into your account, in which case you will be immediately logged into InformaCast <span data-condition="Others:Mobile"> Mobile</span><span data-condition="Others:Fusion"> Fusion</span>. You can see that there are two spaces (one after InformaCast and one before Mobile). However, when I remove that space either in Au
I'm using RoboHelp 2019 (reimagined), update 14. While in Author view, if I open the Topic tab, display the Index dropdown and place my cursor in the Index Keywords field, RH freezes. I can't click anywhere else within the program and get a response. The only thing I can do is close the program and reopen it.
Hi,I have tested the new Adobe RoboHelp 2019 with the latest version available a month ago, and after installing it, the Robohelp 2019 has a multilingual interface that works fine, but it doesn't if later you open the Robohelp 2019 Classic, the UI stays in English, which is the default language we got.Notice that you can't change the UI language on Classic but just the project language. Is it possible that a hidden option need to be activated somewhere to change the UI language or that the installation is corrupted somehow despite it was installed on several different machines and everything works but the UI language change? Does anyone has any ideas about this behavior? Thanks and kind regards.
