I've been asked if our help files are WebDav Compliant. We are using Robohelp Classic 2019 and generating Responsive HTML output. Our IT department and Service Desk want to integrate their service desk software with our help files, but they've said the platform needs to be WebDav compliant. I did a search on the forums and found this question asked a couple of times many years ago, but there were no answers. Can anyone help?
Hi,I have a question regarding how to transfer an old project created in RB 2017 into a new RB 2019 tool.I worked in RB 2017 and now got installed RB 2019 because I have to create a Git connection profile and 2019 version has this possibility. What interests me is the following: my RB 2019 does not see the old project that I had in RB 2017, or if I specifically open RB 2017 file with RB 2019 then it simply opens the old version)How should I transfer all existing data?...including CSS and content.Should I create all styles from scratch and then copy the content one by one into new RB? Do you maybe have some instructions on this case? Or know any other ways? Thanks!
We are using RoboHelp 2019 Classic and using The Helper function for Browser based Help: function RH_Show_BrowserBasedHelp(hParent, strHelpPath, strCategory, strWnd, uCommand, nMapId) to open context sensitive help in a popup. When help popup is open, if we go to a different parent page the popup closes immediately. This happens only in Chrome(75) only not in IE(IE11).After investigating the issue we found this is happening because of some code present in whcsh_home.htm. Below is the code snippet which is causing the issue:function window_OnBeforeUnload(){// Close the popup window to solve the focus problem. window.focus() does not work in all browsers.// When we are loaded the next time with a new ID, we will open a new popup window.// This makes sure that the popup window is opened on top.if (goNewWnd && !gbIE) // Skip IE because window.focus() works fine for IE. Besides IE displays ActiveX warning everytime we open a new window.{ goNewWnd.close()
I have a project that was originally built on RoboHelp 11 and that we are now updating with RoboHelp 19 run in classic mode. Since we made that change, when I generate the content, if someone tries to search the results are showing with zero results per page, which just shows a bunch of numbers (so that you can navigate to other pages of results, except all of those pages are blank with no results). If you change your search options to something other than the "blank" that defaults, you can see results. I found where to set this in the output options, and it was already set to 10, so i changed it to 15 just to see if it would make any difference. It didn't. Not only do users need to update this value the first time they search, they have to update it every single time they search, which means that every search looks like it isn't working and then requires several steps to fix. Any suggestions for how to fix this?
I just updated RoboHelp 2019 to the latest version (14.0.8).We have documentation that must be displayed in spanish. The project is configured to use UTF-8 encoding.I generate the Frameless output using the Orange skinWhen the start page is displayed in Chrome or Safari it displays correctly. The "How can we help?" text is correctly translated and sisplayed as ¿Cómo podemos ayudarle? When the start page is displayed in Edge that text is displayed as ¿Cómo podemos ayudarle?Other pages that contain spanish accents display correctly. The problem seems to only present itself on the start page that RoboHelp generates.
Hi everyone,Two questions re upgrading from RoboHelp 2017 to RoboHelp 2019:1. Can I install 2019 and still keep and use Robo 2017? (Can the two programs co-exist on my PC?)2. Re the 2019 CLASSIC version: I understand that Robo 2019 is a completely new build -- not merely an update. Is that true of Robo 2019 CLASSIC, as well? or is the classic version not a new build, but just a patch/update?Thanks very much.Been waiting over a year for IT to come install 2019. But now I have these outstanding issues.
I had no problem with this until version 8. Look at the picture below of the generate help file in version 8. The Sidebar icons are gone:However in RoboHelp 2019 application when I am editing the skin, everything looks okay and things are displaying.Anybody have any idea what maybe going on. I didn't do anything to the skin or obvious the file locations because the skin within Robohelp can find the files to display the skin. All I did was update to version 8.As of now I cannot update any help files until I get this resolved. The help file shown is under development so it is not due out for some time, but I do need to update another help file. Thanks to anyone that responds.
HiI am using RoboHelp 2019 version 8.What is the best way of ensuring that images are displayed as thumbnails in the Online Help (HTML5) and are resized to fit the page in the PDF format? Thanks in advanceMichelle
Peter,Does RoboHelp 2019 accept Wingdings 3 characters? We've noticed that our blue triangles aren't importing when I try to import our large file. Also I've noticed that all our tables have borders when the large file is imported into RoboHelp 2019, even though the borders are not in the Word file. What do I need to do to fix this? I've played around with the import settings and haven't been able to get it import correctly. Thanks,Michelle
Hi,I'm using Robohelp's 2019 Indigo layout, and when I generate Responsive HTML5 output, the index does not load a TOC, though I've generated a default TOC in the Author tab and have not selected to hide any output. Could someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!Christina
HiI am trying to add a footer that expands across the screen rather than limited to the iframe class="topic" area when using the Indigo skin. For example:I want to add a branded footer to the following area and I cannot find a way of customising the area apart from adding the code post Help build.<div class="topicpage-footer footer" role="contentinfo" data-html="@11361180_LNG.Copyright"></div>Can anyone help please?ThanksMichelle
How do I create incrementing Heading numbers? Currently, I have resorted to adding the Heading numbers manually and then conditionally tagging them as print_only.This is a laborious workaround, and when I add a new topic, I have to go in and increment the numbers manually. In Madcap Flare, there are autonumbers for styles that automatically increment when the PDFs are built. Does RoboHelp have something similar?
Hi. I'm using RoboHelp Classic 2019, version 14.0.7. I need some help with using conditional texts with snippets. Here's the scenario:My RoboHelp project is published as a single output to provide screen-level help within an application. I have two topics that use a snippet in which the content is the same except for one word. I'd like to use conditional text to toggle between the two different words in the snippet based on the topic in the project. I've been able to conditionalize the words, but I don't know how to write the conditional expression to have the correct word appear in my published output. For example, I have two topics: Creating Purple Widgets and Creating Turquoise Widgets. In the snippet, the words that are conditionalized are Purple and Turquoise:The word Purple is tagged with the condition 'Purple' while the word Turquoise is tagged with the condition 'Turquoise'. I added the snippet to each of my topics and applied the corresponding conditions to the snippet (content
We upgraded multiple RH10 Webhelp projects to RH2017 WebHelp with little to now problems. However, there is one project that will not cooperate. When the upgrade completes, the topics do not display in the topic list as expected. So I go to the Project folder and DON'T I see them there. When I go to the Broken Links folder they ARE there! I am restoring them one-by-one. Anyone else had this problem or know of a patch/fix?
Hello,I was wondering if it was possible to have the glossary display certain words for different topics. For example, If I have topics 1, 2, and 3 down below:I want to be able to separate the glossary terms based on the topic I am looking at. So right now all of the terms display for each topic, but what I would like to see for example. If a user clicks on topic 1, they only see the term for FTP, if the user clicks on topic 2, they only see the term for Javascript, etc. Now the only way I know how to do this is to create separate TOC's and glossaries for each topic, but let's say I have 100 topics that would mean I would need 100 glossaries and 100 TOC's. So is there any way to achieve this with 1 TOC and 1 Glossary? This is all done in Robohelp 2017.
I have a conditional tag called DialogHelp in my project.I've tried to build a version of the help that includes only the topics with this tag. However, when I compile, the resulting help has all of my topics in it.According to the RoboHelp help, creating a build condition with this tag in it should generate help with only the tagged topics, yet this is not happening. How can you generate a version of the help that includes only tagged topics?Thank you!Cindy
Hello,I am using RH Classic 2019 (14.0.7.004) with RoboHelp Server 10. We moved away from WebHelp Pro and began publishing successfully, however, sometimes intermittently, to Responsive Layout several months ago. Now the intermittent success seems ellusive- can't publish at all to Responsive Layout.I get the dreaded Runtime Error and application crash when trying to publish to the RH Server. Seems to get hung on a.SWF captivate file but I can only see that briefly before the RH Classic 2019 application crashes. Event Viewer points to the followingLog Name: ApplicationSource: Application ErrorDate: 7/19/2019 10:08:20 AMEvent ID: 1000Task Category: (100)Level: ErrorKeywords: ClassicUser: N/ADescript
I have the 2015 Tech suite on my computer and it was working fine. I added Robohelp 2019 stand-alone to the same computer. When I did that it made me re-enter my Tech Suite key. When I did that the RoboHelp 2019 won't work??
Generally, we use PDF review for smaller topics and there were no issues with the process until now. However, I did create a PDF for review recently and when I opened the PDF document, it throws the error message "The font 'FEQTRJ+Roboto,Bold' contain bad / Widths."Also, the Heading styles and other Styles (except the Normal style) all the other content seems to be messed up with unknown content.Has anyone faced a similar issue? If yes, I request you guys to help e out with this issue. We are using Robohelp 2017 (version 13.0.0.257)Thanks and RegardsSanjaiMessage was edited by: Sanjai Kumar
I am planning to upgrade from RoboHelp 2017 to RoboHelp 2019 so that the upgraded version supports GIT. Wanted to know if GIT works with RoboHelp 2019?
I see a lot of questions about technical difficulties but don't see anything about how to manage child projects in general. Two of us share 20 child projects (HTML5), which were originally a single giant project (CHM). We're on RH 2019 classic using TFS. At the moment, we're maintaining the giant project AND the child projects while programming finishes up doing what it needs to do to deploy HTML5 child projects instead of a single CHM project.1. We miss is being able to find ALL the topics that link to a topic (in single project: Project Manager > right click topic > Show > Topic Links). This method only finds links within the current project, so how can we find ALL the linked topics across the child projects? Do we search the topic's html file name in the source files somehow?2. While we tried to split up the single project as logically as possible, we still sometimes struggle to find where a topic is located. So far, we've been searching the source files for the topic's .ht
Hi,I cannot find the option to generate an output of my RH2019 project to odf format. It is only possible to generate an PDF output. When I just rename the file ending of this output to odf, Word is unable to read it. Can anyone help? Thanks and regardsKarin
Hi All,This might be an unusual case, but I came across some strange behavior. My project folder contained a . (dot), cause our product name contains a dot (RH reimagined.2). My project's name is "RH reimagined" (without a dot). In such cases, everything works fine most of the time. However, if you try to rename any topic or image file via the context menu (right mouse click - rename), the file is not provided with the name you enter there, but with the name of the project (i.e. RH reimagined.htm or RH reimagined.png). Also, the file is moved out of its original location into the top most level (e.g., if you are working in C:/documents/MyRHProjects/RH Reimagined/Folder1, the file will be moved to C:/documents/MyRHProjects). After this has happened once, you will not be able to rename any other file, as RH always returns the error, that the file with the name "RH reimagined" already exists. It is possible to rename the files via the edit properties of the topic in any cases.Maybe this he
Environment:Developing a new help system for a B2B software productRunning RoboHelp 2017, with all updates installedGenerating Responsive HTML5 outputOutput will be hosted in the cloud1 help project2 audiences: our customers and my company's tech support department The help project contains three types of topics:Internal: A topic that only our tech support dept. can access.External: A topic that our customers and our tech support dept. can access.Mixed: A topic that our customers can access, but also contains some (build-tagged) proprietary and confidential info only our tech support dept. can access. My plan was to use dedicated topic-level build tags and dedicated content-level build tags to generate/deliver 2 different outputs (and also support the filter tool): one for our customers (without proprietary and confidential info) and one for our tech support dept. (with everything). Our software product is cloud-based, so the customer help will be too. Our dev team is using Auth0 (auth0.
