RoboHelp

I rely heavily on the ability to create Word documents from RoboHelp. These are eventually converted to PDF. However, the ability to generate to DOC first is important because it allows me to control the formatting by mapping styles, including hyperlinks, and performing additional formatting in Word (using scripts). I would really like to use the new RoboHelp 2019, but the Printed Documentation limitations are preventing me from doing that. The PDF options seem extremely limited. What are the future plans and when are these expected? I was told in a Webinar that this feature is being worked on. I was told this again by an Adobe rep., who at first told me incorrectly that RoboHelp to DOC was available in RoboHelp 2019. But I looked through the list of patch enhancements and it doesn't seem to be there yet.

How is a "baggage" file created?I'm trying to include a font that isn't displaying properly in the CHUM output. "Arial Nova".I pasted the font file in with the project files at the same level as the .css.Are there special steps to creating a baggage file? If so, please advise - Thanks!

Hi everyone,I have a RoboHelp 2015 project. I need to remove the word 'flexlm' for a certain version, say 4.5. (That means, if I search 'flexlm', NO TOPIC containing the word 'flexlm' should show up in the output.) There are total 12 topics which contain this word. I hid the word by applying the conditional build tag "Remove_from_4.5" to this word, in 11 topics and 1 topic I left as it is. Then I applied the relevant conditional build expression, and generated Responsive HTML help output. So far so good. Now when I searched the recently hidden word 'flexlm' in the search box of this generated output, NO TOPIC should be shown-up. Every time on click of other link, popup help window is closes in Chrome. Note: I waffled between putting this in this forum or the chm forum... went here because it only happens when I convert a webhelp to chm. I emailed support and talked to them via IM. Never ever received a response via email, and the IM support person said they would call me by eod and never did. (side question, why is support so unsupportive these days?)RoboHelp Classic 19. Patched all the way up.I built a web help using an existing template modified to our color scheme and icons. Everything worked fine.I then used the Webhelp to CHM Conversion tool. Everything seemed to work fine, but clicking search gives this "Unable to get property 'toUpperCase' of undefined or null reference. It tells me which line the error happens on and which character. This error is a showstopper, as no matter which option I select, the search DOES NOT WORK. I tried the same thing with every single skin available, same error. I tried one of the sample files, same error. This is apparently a known issue, I see

Good afternoon ladies and gents,Latest issue I picked up with RH2019, and I'm thinking it should have a simple fix.  The indentation of paragraphs is incomplete.  I want to indent the entire paragraph, but only the first line is indented.  It's not like this on the Classic layout and I assume it's because of a change in how the CSS is handled.  Before I could just select the whole section and hit tab, but now I have to click the Indent button and it's not working like it should.  Just one question:  How do I fix it?  Google isn't helping...Example of issue:

I am considering updating to RH 2019, currently at RH12.  I am using RH HTML to generate a .chm file.  What is a frameless skin?Can this be used with a .chm file?Thanks!

Last week I installed the latest version of the Tech Comm suite, which includes RoboHelp 2019. My previous version was RH11. I converted a small project (5 topics) and that worked fine. I've been able to figure out how to edit the topics and add images, etc.The skin from my old project cannot be converted. So I created a new skin and I'm trying to modify it to be similar to my old one. The only options for new skins are "Frameless Skin" and "HTML5 Skin." I chose an HTML5 option. I found some other forum topics that referenced a "WebHelp Skin" but that does not exist in my new RH version. (I am outputting to WebHelp if that makes a difference. The application the help is supporting is not responsive, so the help will not be either.)The heading on the skin is gigantic, and I cannot find a way to make the font size smaller. Only the color and font family options are available. Am I missing something? I'd rather not have a heading at all than one that's this large.

There's an issue with search highlight that the team has encountered. The scenario is as follows:1. Do a search with a keyword, press on any of the search results pages name.2. Enter a new search keyword, and press Enter.Current behavior: The new search applies on the side navigation only [search results], and doesn't apply on the page/topic I currently open.Expected result: The search highlight changes dynamically on the the current topic displayed highlighting the new search keyword.Please do you have any suggestions for how to fix that?

I am running Robohelp 2019.0.4.Converting a Robohelp Classic project to Robohelp 2019 breaks links in my TOCs.There are NO broken links in the Classic project, yet the 2019 broken now shows many broken links.Why is this happening and how can I rectify this without touching every single one of these links?

Good afternoon guys,So A LOT has happened in the past few months on RH2019 and one of the biggest changes in the new layout was that custom TOC icons wasn't possible anymore on Indigo due to the new layout.  However, I created a feature request to have it put back and after a few months of waiting, it was included in Update 8.I ran the update and because there was now no more reason to avoid the new layout, I backed up and upgraded my project to the new RH 2019 (from the RH 2019 Classic project).  A LOT to learn, a lot of stuff I have to get used to, but I'll get there.  Most of the little niggles I've sorted out by now, but one seems to bug the crap out of me and I can't figure out why it's not working.The topics are ignoring the background colour on my master page.  I have just one master page, containing only a Footer that I use (a copyright notice) on all the topics.  That's it.  In addition to that, the master page also sets the font and the font size

Why can´t I create a pdf file in Robohelp? There´s no problem creating HTLM and HLTM5. Please help.

I see Batch Generate of outputs is supported in RH 2019 Classic, but how do I do it in the new RH 2019 interface? And what about via the command line options with the new version?Thanks,Alan

Hi,I am importing content from FrameMaker 2019 to Robohelp 2019.   The content is in tables with the first column shaded in dark grey backgaround and the second column in white.  The content is imported almost neatly, similar to my FrameMaker document.  However, in the ouput, the tables do not display, and the text in them is scattered.   Especialy, in webhelp and responsive HTML.  Please help!

I've been asked if our help files are WebDav Compliant.  We are using Robohelp Classic 2019 and generating Responsive HTML output.   Our IT department and Service Desk want to integrate their service desk software with our help files, but they've said the platform needs to be WebDav compliant.  I did a search on the forums and found this question asked a couple of times many years ago, but there were no answers.  Can anyone help?

Hi,I have a question regarding how to transfer an old project created in RB 2017 into a new RB 2019 tool.I worked in RB 2017 and now got installed RB 2019 because I have to create a Git connection profile and 2019 version has this possibility.What interests me is the following: my RB 2019 does not see the old project that I had in RB 2017, or if I specifically open RB 2017 file with RB 2019 then it simply opens the old version)How should I transfer all existing data?...including CSS and content.Should I create all styles from scratch and then copy the content one by one into new RB? Do you maybe have some instructions on this case? Or know any other ways?Thanks!

We are using RoboHelp 2019 Classic and using The Helper function for Browser based Help: function RH_Show_BrowserBasedHelp(hParent, strHelpPath, strCategory,strWnd, uCommand, nMapId) to open context sensitive help in a popup.When help popup is open, if we go to a different parent page the popup closes immediately. This happens only in Chrome(75) only not in IE(IE11).After investigating the issue we found this is happening because of some code present in whcsh_home.htm. I have a project that was originally built on RoboHelp 11 and that we are now updating with RoboHelp 19 run in classic mode.  Since we made that change, when I generate the content, if someone tries to search the results are showing with zero results per page, which just shows a bunch of numbers (so that you can navigate to other pages of results, except all of those pages are blank with no results).  If you change your search options to something other than the "blank" that defaults, you can see results.  I found where to set this in the output options, and it was already set to 10, so i changed it to 15 just to see if it would make any difference.  It didn't.  Not only do users need to update this value the first time they search, they have to update it every single time they search, which means that every search looks like it isn't working and then requires several steps to fix.  Any suggestions for how to fix this?

I just updated RoboHelp 2019 to the latest version (14.0.8).We have documentation that must be displayed in spanish.The project is configured to use UTF-8 encoding.I generate the Frameless output using the Orange skinWhen the start page is displayed in Chrome or Safari it displays correctly.The "How can we help?" text is correctly translated and sisplayed as ¿Cómo podemos ayudarle?When the start page is displayed in Edge that text is displayed as ¿Cómo podemos ayudarle?Other pages that contain spanish accents display correctly.The problem seems to only present itself on the start page that RoboHelp generates.

Hi everyone,Two questions re upgrading from RoboHelp 2017 to RoboHelp 2019:1.     Can I install 2019 and still keep and use Robo 2017?  (Can the two programs co-exist on my PC?)2.     Re the 2019 CLASSIC version:  I understand that Robo 2019 is a completely new build -- not merely an update.  Is that true of Robo 2019 CLASSIC, as well? or is the classic version not a new build, but just a patch/update?Thanks very much.Been waiting over a year for IT to come install 2019.  But now I have these outstanding issues.

I had no problem with this until version 8. Look at the picture below of the generate help file in version 8. The Sidebar icons are gone:However in RoboHelp 2019 application when I am editing the skin, everything looks okay and things are displaying.Anybody have any idea what maybe going on. I didn't do anything to the skin or obvious the file locations because the skin within Robohelp can find the files to display the skin. All I did was update to version 8.As of now I cannot update any help files until I get this resolved. The help file shown is under development so it is not due out for some time, but I do need to update another help file.Thanks to anyone that responds.
