I am trying to capture the strings of text that my users are searching for, as well as the results that are returned to them (or at least the number of results). Is there a way to access robohelp's search's code so that I can modify it? this would just require me to use a few lines of javascript, but I cannot find where RoboHelp's search logic occurs. In similar threads people have recommended inserting Google Analytics code to master pages, or replacing RoboHelp's search with an external product called Zoom Search. But I'd prefer not to do either of those. Does anyone have experience with this?
I have a new Windows10 computer, and I'm using RoboHelp 10.The icons on the workspace are tiny. I can change the display settings in Windows 10 - "display" - "scale and layout" to adjust the icons slightly. Even when I used the "advanced scaling settings" and went up to 250%, the icons in RoboHelp remain relatively small compared to other programs. The text within the editing and "User Defined Variables" panes continue to increase as I increase scale, but text and icons in the rest of the workspace do not.Is there a maximum resolution for RoboHelp icons, or is there another way to make them more visible?
We are experimenting with upgrading our current RH projects to 2019. They have scripts in the body of the topic, and it seems that, unless you move them to the footer (one by one, for hundreds), they are wiped out when you do the upgrade. Is there any way we can avoid this? We use FAR HTML, so if anyone knows a way to use that to move them, that would help too. Thanks for any help....Marion
TCS 5 User (Frame 12/RoboHelp 11)I have a FrameMaker source book linked to a RoboHelp project with a named paragraph style, "Note." In FM Paragraph Designer, "Note" specifies a line (or border) above and below the paragraph (via field names "Frame Above Pgf"/"Below Pgf"). These frames/borders are defined as graphics in the FM reference page for the book.In the past, when I've synched the files from FM to RH, the above/below paragraph border for this Note style did not get converted at all in RH, meaning in RH, Note text is not bordered with a line above or below, which is fine. TCS manual specifically states that graphics that are not inside anchored frames do not get imported, and these borders are inside graphic frames, not anchored frames. However, I recently edited the FM files and synched them to RH, and suddenly the above/below borders now appear in the RH file. I don't know why, as I have not updated my software. The problem is, they are not aligned prope
I am using RoboHelp 2019 version 2019.0.5. I am outputting to Responsive HTML5.Is it possible to create tool tips in RoboHelp and then have a link in the tool tip that the user can click to proceed to a regular topic?
Robohelp version : 2017 13.0.2.334Windows 7Webhelp outputGood morning, everyone,I am working on a project that allows me to automatically generate online help using the command line. The Master Project contains children's projects that are compiled one after the other. The master project, once compiled, does not contain an index.htm file but a project_maitre.htm file.If I compile this same project using the robohelp interface, the master project contains an index.htm file.I would like to understand why the project compiled using the command line does not generate the same files and especially if a project placed on servers can be read without index.htm file.thank you very much .Etien
When will command line capabilities be available in the Rh 2019 'Release'? It is available in 'Classic', but I have been waiting to use Release until command line support for builds is implemented, as that is how my organization builds and deploys Rh content. Update 5 came out a short while ago and still nothing... maybe I am missing something. Thanks in advance,David
Hi Team,I am unable to view the previous and next buttons in the headers of my HTML5 Indigo Layout output generated from Robohelp 2017. Also, i have checked the layout.Peter GraingeRoboHelp HTML5 Layouts Regards,Richa Arora
I am using Robohelp 2019.0.5. RH2017 allows you to easily copy portions of one TOC into another to manage TOC sets. I cannot find how to accomplish this in RH2019. Is this feature just missing or am I just not seeing it? If I have an Admin TOC and a User TOC that share most of their content, I want to be able to either duplicate the larger TOC and then delete the unneeded topics or I want to be able to copy "books" or "pages" from one and paste them in the other. I make topics "books" and subtopics (headings in the topic) "pages" in the topic's book in the TOC.It appears that the only way to get "Books" to self-populate with subtopics is to use Auto-Create TOC to populate the TOC and click "Create TOC pages for bookmarks." When I do this, I get all the topics that are in "Contents" and the subtopics all have the generic bookmark1, bookmark2, bookmark3, etc. names of the bookmarks. I then have to edit each “page” title so that it matches the subtopic or headings title instead of
Hello,I am currently using Robohelp 2019, and i am facing problems with the output as it is very slow to open a topic which can be a problem for the reader.I noticed that when generating the output (responsive HTML5), even with a certain TOC and certain tags the output file keeps generating all the topics in the project which i assume can be the source of how slow the display of the output is .How can i fix it ? Thank you,
When trying to connect to a library in my Sharepoint online site, I am asked to authenticate, but then I get this. Please help. How do I "verify connector installation (and configuration)"?
I'm doing some further testing with taking a Flare project and converting it to RoboHelp. I used John Daigle's converter program, and it seems to work pretty well. At first, the project converted to the classic format, but the converted project had this weird trait where the Flare project's heading styles carried over to RoboHelp, but I couldn't change the font. (The Flare project's font style didn't carry over to RoboHelp, even though it's a supported font - Tahoma.)I upgraded the project to 2019 to see if that would fix the issue. The upgrade did fix the font selection problem, but now none of the heading styles are in it.Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have any solutions or ideas to try out?
I want auto-numbering of toc in Web Help in such a way that even though a page starts with Heading 3, but numbering must follow that of Heading 2 defined in the parent book. For example if a book has Heading 2 as 6.2 Long Island, and a child page must be auto-numbered as 6.2.1.Is there any CSS?
I inherited a few projects, copied all project files over to my machine exactly as they existed on the previous writer's machine, but when I go to generate the output, the main content window is blank, and when clicking a link from the TOC on the left, the content flashes briefly, but then the screen returns to just the frame with no content where it should be. Attaching screenshot. As a note, one of the 3 projects I inherited generates fine, while the other two do not. We've investigated everything that has occurred to us that might impact this, but when the previous writer generates the output with the project files I send her, it generates fine. Help! Projects were created in Robohelp 2015, which I am also running.
Hi all,I've recently upgraded my RoboHelp software from RH9 to RH2015. I successfully upgraded an existing RH project to RH2015. I was able to print a .chm file. But when i tried to print an xml output, i got this report:Has anyone encountered this before? Appreciate your advice. thanks.
Hi,At work, I have to use RoboHelp 2017 for our procedures. I used to have them in Word. Now, they are rewritten in RoboHelp so that our users can access them easily. Font that I use is Arial Narrow 14pt.I will use bulleted lists.I created new character and paragraph styles.I will insert Drop down text boxes. For those who don't care about the presentation and the reading flow of a procedure, this version of RoboHelp is just fine. For those who do care, RoboHelp is the WORST SOFTWARE EVER CREATED.For example, like I said, I created Styles to format the text and paragraphs. All my styles were at the bottom of the style bar. I always had to scroll down to get to them. Because there is a RENAME option when you right click a style, I renamed all my styles - that were already used in all my RoboHelp documents) - by adding 1_ at the beginning of the names. NOW, ALL MY DOCUMENTS HAVE LOST THERE TEXT FORMATS. ALL OF THEM. Even if I reselect the paragraphs or the text and reapply the styles, THE
I'm setting up a new project in RoboHelp 2019. I created a CSS with various styles. One style (h1) has a font color of 700017. Another style (with a p tag) has background shading of 700017. When I preview topics using these styles, the colors are applied appropriately. However, when I generate and view my HTML5 output, the color doesn't display (the text is in black font and there isn't background shading on the other style). Any tips? I would greatly appreciate it!Thanks, Nikki
When you update a "Robohelp Classic" project to Robohelp 2019 the resulting related topics lists are populated by the filenames of the topics including any underscores. While you can set fonts and capitalization you cannot actually edit the Topic Title in the Related Topics Properties. It seems the only way to correct the situation is to delete the topic from the Related Topics list and then add it back. When you add the topic back in the topics Title is used instead of the filename. It would be nice if it used the title during the conversion. Is there some way to get that to occur during the update? In Robohelp Classic and previous versions of Robohelp you could edit the titles of topics included in the "Related Topics." This feature is lacking in Robohelp 2019. It would be nice to be able to do that.
I am in the project and trying to open an existing folder. The plus sign changes to a minus sign and it won't open.
Hi,I was wondering if there's any new information about tracking help effectivenes of RoboHelp Responsive HTML 5 output. Basically, I need to:Allow users to rate topics (somthing like "Was this topic helpful?")Allow users to leave comments to topicsReceive notifications of new comments Have analytics on received commentsThere're a lot of threads on the forum related to AIR output; however, I'm interested in Responsive HTML 5 only. Thanks!Olha Melnychuk
Hi there,I am currently testing the new Adobe RoboHelp (2019 release, modern layout) to see if it will be worth implementing within the business, over Flare. It looks very straightforward and easy to use, however, it's not very responsive compared to the classic version and it's lacking crucial features.Fonts:1. Every time we are trying to change font a circular loading icon will appear, is this normal?2. It never remembers the font and font size that we are currently using within the document; the boxes are always empty. Whilst, within the other style boxes (alignment, et cetera) there is always a default number/style.Track changes/comment 1. I have noticed (or at least I can't find it) there's no option to track changes or add comments, however, I can find this within RoboHelp 2019 classic version. Will this feature be implemented within modern RoboHelp?Adding tables1. Every time we try to add a table, most of the options will freeze/crash or takes a few minutes to
Hello, I have a merged project using RoboHelp 15, MSIE 11, Windows 7 ENT. I’ve received a message (in the parent project): Screen Layout xcxxc already exists. Choose a different name. Is the only solution to swap the MasterThemeSchema and rebuild the layout? Thanks
Is it possible to extract the corpus of words in a RoboHelp project so it can be analysed using concordance software? Any advice would be appreciated.
I want to send my output folder to developers so that they can integrate my topics with the images. I saved my output folder to my desktop and when I clicked on the index.htm file, I got my help system with text only topics.
Help. I wonder if anyone could tell me if you know of any plans for an integration process for RoboHelp to Zendesk? The last post on this forum is 2 years old, so I thought I’d just reach out and see. We’ve just starting moving our user experience content into Zendesk and the authoring tool is, well, less than ideal. I’d love to be able to work in Robohelp and then import it to Zendesk or use an integration tool of some kind that would port it all out/in for me.Any insights or have anyone heard anything?
