RoboHelp

I am developing Help for a large project with output in responsive HTML5. It has been recommended by Adobe that I develop everything on my local laptop hard drive, which I am doing. I have all the links to images and topics that point to my c:\....\....RoboHelp project. How do I integrate with the software that I am supporting and maintain all my links?

There's an excessive amount of blank space/white space in my HTML 5 output (I'm using a slightly customized version of the Indigo output.) I'm sure there's an adjustment in a .css somewhere but I've been unable to track down where that adjustment can be made:I'd prefer the center-content window to be wider, taking up most of the primary screen. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have not found a way to adapt the text of the topics to the sidebar (not vice versa), so that when this is open in the default position, the text of the various topics is wrapped in order to read correctly ... I checked in the layout options but there is nothing about it...thx for help...

Help!I have been editing my project and compiling every so often today. Then for no apparent reason, RH has started crashing at a certain point when I attempt to generate HTML output. The files it stops at is one I've been editing so clearly something has happened. How can I investigate? What should I be looking for? All I've done is add some text, links and table rows to the topic.Webhelp compiles fine.Using RH 2019 Classic v14.0.5.

I'm new to RH 2017 (haven't used RoboHelp since the days of BlueSky software.)I'm trying to create a new Web Help project, and follow the tutorial provided. However, when I start to create WebHelp, there are only two windows in my display, but the tutorial shows Project Manager, WebAppHelp, Single Source Layout, Topic List and a Topic window. I know that all of these are "pods," but I'm having trouble opening and docking them. Is there an easy way to do this?Thanks!Charlie

I thought I had all the issue on generating output solved.  But this morning when I click the Generate icon, I have no choices, previously had (Responsive, PDF, etc).Now there are none and the Generate Button is disabled.Did a setting get changed?Thanks,

Right now I'm trying out the RoboHelp demo to replace using Flare for work. The one thing that doesn't seem to have a replacement is Flare's version control where you basically A/B two drafts to see what changed. I've been researching a similar replacement for RoboHelp but I'm coming up empty so far.Does anyone know of a good replacement for this Flare feature? We use Git for source control, if that matters at all.

I am working in RoboHelp 2017. I took over for another person in owning our RoboHelp site in November, and ran into no issues until Mid-January. After I generated the output for the project, saved and closed the project, then reopened it the majority of my page links became broken (only 190/2,300 still work). I tried clearing cache, had saved a back-up of the project to our server, so I tried redownloading and deleting the one that I was working from (as I had made a minor update, easy to edit), and nothing worked. I had the person who used to own the project attempt to open the project on their computer, by also redownloading my backup from the server and everything looks fine on their RoboHelp.  The only differences between our RoboHelps that I can think of is that I had the 2019 version installed on my computer before I uninstalled the 2019 version and installed the 2017 version, and the fact that I am the one that made this update. I am working in RoboHelp 2019 and I want to know how to connect a caption to an image (Figure). The problem is when my output is responsive HTML5, as I move the browser window, the text moves and the captions move away from the image.

My team are having a problem that some RH2015 projects that behaved perfectly in IE11 are now causing a problem if rebuilt in RH2017. The search panel in the WebHelp no longer displays results or any evidence of performing a search. The search works when viewed in Chrome and will also work in IE11 if you press F12 and select compatibility mode 10. Building out to HTML5 format, as a test, also results in a working help in IE11. So, the issue seems to be specifically with the WebHelp format.The problem seemed similar to a search problem affecting RH11 that was covered on this forum and required a patch to the whutils.js and whver.js files. Indeed, we quickly found that we can resolve the problem by taking the whutils.js produced by RH2015 and dropping it into the RH2017 WebHelp output folder to overwrite the generated file. We are having issues displaying RoboHelp 2019 non-classic sites via Internet Explorer (11) over the intranet.We have several RoboHelp 2017 sites hosted via IIS 7.5 on a Windows web server (over intranet).We are beginning to use RoboHelp 2019 (classic & non-classic), using WebHelp and Responsive HTML5. The 2019 classic sites have no issues displaying.The 2019 non-classic sites are NOT viewable in Internet Explorer 11 over the intranet.  A blank page with 4 grey squares appears.The 2019 non-classic sites ARE viewable in Chrome over the intranet.The 2019 non-classic sites do display successfully locally on the web server.However, when these sites are 1st accessed locally on the web server in IE, a HTTP 500.19 error appears. The URL is http://localhost:97 When the IE browser is refreshed, a login screen prompt appears.  After entering login information, the page displays.The URL changes to http://localhost:97/#t=MainProject%2FSplash.htmBut the site is still not viewable over

I am using RoboHelp 2019 Update 5.I am trying to select the Azure Blue skin for my Web Help output. When I try to select the Azure Blue skin for the Layout of my new preset, I get the error message: "The skin already exists. Edit the existing skin or create a new one." I don't want to edit it, I want to use it. Since Azure Blue has the Responsive HTML 5 icon next to it, I assume that I can only use it with the Responsive HTML 5 Output Preset and not the WebHelp out preset.Can I use the Azure_Blue skin for a WebHelp output preset in RoboHelp 2019?

Hi All,I need an urgent help for the below issue I am facing when compiling the Robo Help source code with RHCL.When the source is complied using command line Utility RHCL we found following issues:a) Some of the .gif images are not properly copied to the output folder. due to which some images are missing from the Help outputb) We found when ever there is a pop-up in the source content the complied output is not working. Sorry if this is an obvious question... I can't seem to find anywhere to add review comments in topics in robohelp 2019.

I have a pretty customized version of the charcoal gray responsive layout. Everything is (now) working fairly well, but for one odd corner case. It may not be a huge issue, but we have a couple of users with very large screens, and when you open the help on those screens, the index does not take up all of the available space or produce a scroll bar.  Here's a normal view, after loading and scrolling a bit to show that yes, there's plenty of stuff in the index: Now, when the user with the huge monitor (think 40") loads the index in the same browser (chrome v. 62.0.3202.94), it looks like this: See all of that empty space on the bottom? Now, I can replicate this on my machine by making the magnification level very small: So, I looked for a max-height in the css, there is none, and adding one, no matter what I set it to (I tried 50,000 em!), it actually makes the problem worse. This is an FYI post because upgrading your version of IE to 11.0.110 will fix the issue. Adding it here so the answer is available for anyone receiving complaints! I did not report it as a bug because it's not Adobe's bug and is fixed in a newer version of IE. Stats: Using RH 2019 (not classic). This does not happen in outputs from similar projects in RH 2017. I did not try classic 2019.Responsive output. Have tried in both the Azure_Blue and Charcoal_Gray outputs and the same thing happens, it's not layout-specific as far as I can tell. HiI've been using the Indigo HTML 5 layout for a year now and have just noticed some of the new topics I am creating are not being listed in the sidebar toc. Also, as I am creating new "top level" sections"  I might need to add some more topics  "Tiles" to the Home (top level) page of my generated help. I worked out how to set all of this up 1 year ago and quite frankly I've forgotten how it's done.Could somebody remind me how / where to do this? I am currently using RoboHelp HTML 9 on Windows 7 Pro. I have administrative rights on the computer. My current project contains over 30 different webhelp layouts with 30 different TOCs that are all based on the different functions in a web-based application for a client. The project also includes over 30 different print layouts based on the same TOCs. I use build conditions to specify what I want to appear in the webhelp and print layouts. My project is organized into basically three main folders that represent Tasks, References and Concepts (as close to DITA as I can get this client). Each of these main folders has a subfolder named after a function and it contains the topics and screen captures that relate to that specific function task, function reference or function concept. I created each webhelp layout in the SSL pod based on the specific TOC that was created for the function. I have multiple projects in Robohelp 2011 that I upgraded to 2019 and they are working OK except for one thing.  I have thousands of Hyperlinks that start with See also: where the Highlight color is green with the font color being white.  Using RoboHelp 2011, both the Webhelp output and the PDF output when you pick View Item - in Google Chrome and then print to PDF are the same.But in Robohelp 2019 Classic, the PDF output does not display the Highlight color at all, so it shows characters with a white color against a white background - not good.  The printer driver is the same Microsoft Print to PDF for both Robohelp applications, but they don't work the same way.

Hello,i am currently using Robohelp 2019, and for generating output i usually use tags to display what is necessary but what i realise is that all the files in the project are also generated which creates a huge size for the output file with unnecessary topics .What can i do to reduce the size of output file ? is it possible to delete not needed topics ? I am new to RoboHelp 2019 and been trying to work out a few problems. I have spoken with Adobe tech support and they were not able to answer a few of my questions. I am hoping someone out there can. Here are the questions:1. Classic 2019 contains framesets but new 2019 does not (at least I cannot find it in the product). Will it be supported or is it a dropped feature?2. New 2019 seems a bit buggy right now but Classic 2019 works smoothly. When Adobe moves forward, will Classic version also be updated, or is Adobe's plan only to update the New 2019?3. In New 2019 update 4 I could upgrade a project file from version 2015, but I was having a few css issues (hence the call to tech support). Tech support's first move was to have me go to update 5. So I deleted my test upgrade project and made the update. Now New 2019 doesn't allow me to upgrade ANY projects so I am dead in the water except to start with a new project -- which puts me back with a few css issues. Is any one else have a probl

I can't find out how to format a list of instructions with numbers or bullets in Robohelp 2019 Classic.  There is no format choice.

HelloI have recently upgraded RoboHelp Classic (RH 2017) projects to RoboHelp 2019, and am outputting basic WebHelp.I have RH version 2019.5 on Windows 10.When I generate output, the target output folder includes all of my RH project files, including the .RHPJ file and other files and folders that have always been "internal" to the project and not part of the file package that I deliver to Development for inclusion in the web application product.In past versions of RoboHelp (2015, 2017), this was never an issue.  How can I exclude the "internal" project files from the output folder?  I would like a nice clean folder that contains only the required files and directories. I'm generating a PDF via Printed Documentation in 2019 Classic. How does RoboHelp determine what to include on the ToC? I used the ToC from my regular project but I only want to include a subset of topics so I removed all the folders I don't want in the generated document in the Chapter Layout. Hello,I am using Conditional Text throughout my project to generate 2 versions of the document. I have conditions set on text within topics as well as conditions set on the topic level.When I generate my 2 Responsive HTML5 versions, at first, everything looks fine - the text within the topics is correctly generated and TOC is displaying the correct topics. However, when I do a search in one version, I'm seeing hits from topics from the OTHER version, which is not exactly the desired experience. Plus, the breadcrumbs that appear below it makes the search look messy (see attached image - as you can see, I am suppressing the Context line because I felt it was just too wordy for the search panel).I have tried the "Exclude this topic from search" option in "Topic Properties," but this is just not practical to maintain w/ the number of files (and me forgetting that I need to turn OFF that setting, etc.). I just don't understand why the Conditional Text is NOT being respected here for searchi
