After deploying a new PC and installing RoboHelp 2017 I keep getting a multitude of script errors upon opening an existing project. This project opens on an older PC without the error but I have now tested on two different new PC's and keep getting same errors. IE 11 is the default browser.the first script error is
I'm updating our help system to show additional Themes we have added to the software. (to change the look of the software) We now have a total of 16 Themes. I'd like to show an example of each, so I'm taking a screen shot of the software with each theme applied to have all shown in the appropriate topic. As you can image, this would take up a LOT of space. I could make each theme name a drop down hotspot, but even that would take up a lot of space, since the user could have multiple drop down hotspots open at the same time. I was thinking, it would be AMAZING if I could have one image shown, and have it update when they click on another theme name. (The image would stay in the same spot, but update when another theme was clicked on)I don't think this is possible in Robohelp 09, but I thought I'd ask you guys to see if anyone knew something I didn't. The other thing that would work is if hovering over a theme name would bring the image in, but it would go away once your mouse was remove
I have two different layouts, one for Android, one for iOS. I am using our proprietary font and this displays properly everywhere in Android. However, on iOS devices, for the Home (default) page, the Table of Contents page and for the first title displayed in the first topic page, the font is a serif font, looks like Times New Roman. Note that on the second and subsequent topic pages, the title uses the correct font. I have searched the entire project for mention of a serif font, there is nothing there, our font is in every font-family reference along with Arial. Does anyone have any idea where this is coming from? I've successfully changed background and text colours in the layouts so I'm a bit pharmished as to where I'm going wrong.BTW, the pages and fonts display correctly when viewed on a desktop in either Chrome or IE and in addition, when I use the iOS URL on an Android device, everything displays correctly. Another aside: in my iPad_Layout Screen Layout, no mobile.css appears in
If we have a scenario where the Responsive help output is hosted on a Web server and accessed like this via a URL:https://<helpserverIP/domain>/product/online_help/index.htmwhen we have new content added to the help files, can we compile the Responsive output on a local laptop and then just replace the online_help folder on the helpserver? Is there any chance that the output will break when we access https://<helpserverIP/domain>/product/online_help/index.htm?And for what reason? Any specific files to be careful of?or does the output need to be compiled by installing RH 2017 on the helpserver by opening the source code from SVN?
Hello,We have a scenario where we have 2 versions of a ProductX that are being used by 2 different customers.ProductX v1.0 - Customer A with a license for v1.0 only.ProductX v1.5 - Customer B with a license for v1.5 only.Condition: Customer A should not be able to view the content of ProductX v1.5 and Customer B should not be able to view the content of ProductX v1.0.The help output is hosted on a help server and accessible via web URL for example http://help.domain.com/productX/help/index.htm. This help URL is integrated into ProductX.Can we have a single help output, as mentioned above, serving ProductX but also satisfying the condition mentioned? Is it achievable by using tags or any other way?
I am having trouble navigating with a project that I regenerated from an old project for the benefit of the Chrome TOC showing on the left. Now I have the problem of the lack of navigation via the URL. When I change the URL it does not change the content of the window as shown below:Navigating to "Affected By MU" in the URL does not yield the expected result of having the page showing with that title. Navigating via the browser address field does not affect the page as it did in the old project before I regenerated it. How do I recreate this functionality?Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Preston
I know I can position my window in pixels, but I would like the CHM to always align to the right side of the screen and I do not know my end-users' resolution.
Re: The "Previous" and "Next" buttons in HTML5 output. The Previous and Next icons do not appear when using MS Internet Explorer 11 and RoboHelp 2017.They appear fine in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.Does anyone know a fix to this? Thanks.Mark
Hello everyone, I am using the Azure Blue HTML5 responsive layout. it looks great, but I wanted to replace the light blue circle in the left of the header with my company's logo. I was able to do that by editing the layout, but when I publish the webhelp, the company logo is squished into a square. Is there a way to tell RH not to constrain the image into a square? Thanks. -Robert Shairulla
HiI am currently working on a HTML5 Responsive system with a master and two child projects in Robohelp 2017. There is no problem with creating links from the master to either child projects however linking between the two child projects is throwing up problems. One of the child projects has a complex folder structure as historically it was Word based and printed out, in Robohelp there are eight or sometimes nine levels in the folder structure. Using the ../../../../ method of creating links between child pages, Robohelp appears to truncate the number of ../ used - is there a limit to how many folders Robohelp can navigate up and down in merged projects? Many thanksRichard
Webhelp pro project content is merged with old content when it is replaced with newer version of contentwebhelp pro project is copied in to licensed version of Robohelp server 10 and below are the steps followed1) Using Robohelp studio 2015 output is generated as webhelp pro .2) New context called testRoboContext is created and following directory structure of server/general/projects is created3) Generated webhelp pro output content is copied in to above directory structure.Url we used to access Project1 :http://ipaddress:8080//testRoboContext/server?project=project1ipaddress is ip address of robohelp servertestRoboContext is context name project1 is projectname4) Since content got changed , we regenerated output and copied again to the same context to replace same project with new contentBut new content is concatenated with old content instead of replacing the old content with new content. When robohelp server is accessed using web administrator tool it does not show copied proje

I'm in trouble with a Microsoft HTML Help project which used to work but by someaction I did - and I don't know which it was - the MAP-Ids resp. the linkage bewteen the information in the .ali-file and the map-ids got lost. What is the mechanism to make the map IDs known to a project? (a merged project in this case).I have two mapfiles in my project :all_mapids_sorted.hBSSCDefault.hall_mapids_sorted.h contains all map ids in the form:#define Item 18269(it's an ANSI encoded file containing Umlauts - I'm not sure whether I had to change this to UTF-8 but it used to work and I didn't change anything in that area). My .ali file has the nameMerged_project.aliand is a catenation of all .ali files in the subprojectsIt contains for this Map ID:<alias name="Item" link="Redirect.1.htm#its:SUBPROJECT.chm::/path\to\Item_explained.htm" >When I compare the working merged CHM with the non working then I can see that all its:links are missing in the non-working.By which mechanism do I make known t
I have lost the RoboHelp project source files, and currently have only the WebHelp output. Please assist me on how to retrieve the source files using the WebHelp output?
Hi,I'm continuing my evaluation of Robohelp 2017 (Update 2) Responsive HTML5 Indigo screen layout. With your help I've made a lot of progress with this and intend on upgrading from RH2015.I've noticed this error in my Indigo project when loading the page in IE11.Is this a known issue? Works fine in Chrome, Edge, Firefox.(As an aside, what is the js file used for? I removed all the contents of the file and the page loaded, rendered properly and the TOC items worked too).
I just updated RH 2017 with Update 3 and when I try to compile Responsive HTML 5, it won't load. There's a JS error with our customized Azure Blue screen layout.I have 2 questions for Adobe:When will you fix this? When will you go back to beta testing before releasing updates? Releasing buggy software is unacceptable. Thanks!!
Hello Rh Community (Hi Peter and Rick )Any of you come across this "acute" issue (unable to determine the exact timing on what was done prior to having this issue) when attempting to generate Printed Documentation from RoboHelp?Thank You,~PMOS: Win 7Adobe Rh Version: Rh11History: Rh11 on a separate machine (Win 7). I did have Rh 2017 installed (not anymore) on the same Rh11 PC just to upgrade one project for testing. Local Build (No source control involve in this case.Issue: When running the documentation build script from the Command Line (CMD) and Rh attempts to build the two certain documents. The first time Rh compiler hits the “PayablesAdministratorGuide”, a message pad (popup) indicating that the “rhcl.exe has stopped working” (see Pic 1 below). This error reoccurs when it comes to PayablesImportExportGuide document. Note: The remaining printed documentation (e.g. User/Admin guides) for all projects generate with no issue. If I use Rh11 GUI (Opening Rh project and generating print
Our RoboHelp project contains a makeshift index which our developer created. It lists all the topic titles. I'd like to add additional keywords. I just added the keyword "inquiry". How do I know which topics to associate with this keyword at the bottom of the index pod? Do I need to run a search to generate all instances of this keyword or ask our SMEs, or can I simply add the keyword as I have done below without adding any topics? Are there any instructional videos you could recommend that show how to add a keyword to the index?
In RH 2015, when I set a Conditional Build Expression for the screen profiles (in my case, phone, tablet, and desktop) on the Multiscreen HTML5 Settings window, I can generate the projects with those settings one time if I click "Save and Generate". If I return to the Multiscreen HTML5 Settings window, all the Conditional Build Expressions are reset to "(None)". If I click "Save" and then re-access the screen, the Conditional Build Expressions are reset to "(None)". Is anyone else seeing an issue where these settings are not being saved? Thanks.
I generated output for my RoboHelp project and need to make some changes to the structure. How can I delete a topic folder? When I right-click, the delete option is sometimes grayed out, and so is the delete option in the Project menu.Other times, it isn't grayed out, but when I click delete, I get the following message:Maybe moving (dragging) all the content out of the folder FIRST is an important step? So I tried doing this. I'm trying to delete the Annual_Reassessment_Event_Overview_files folder (see below). So I started moving some of the content out and into a "parent" folder. I successfully moved all the content, except for the image gif. But now the image gif is broken, and I can't move the unbroken version of it that's still in the folder. When I do, I get the following message. Should I overwrite the file? If I do that, will that fix the link? Will I then be able to delete the Annual_Reassessment_Event_Overview_files topic folder?
Hello, I am trying to upgrade my Robohelp 10 project from the old version to the current one for the Chrome index not showing. I opened the project in Robohelp HTML and regenerating the project hoping that the JS files would change to the updated ones. Unfortunately these are not changing. How do I update these files via the UI? This is in accordance with the following instructions:WebHelp issues in RoboHelp versions 10 and 11Thank you,PrestonThread branched as it seems to relate to Index not working rather than the later TOC books not opening issue
I have RoboHelp 8. While viewing the ouput files of the WebHelp in Firefox and Chrome, the books in the TOC pane are not expanding. I am able to expand and collapse the books in IE 6 and IE 8. But again I am not able to expand them in IE 7.
Please assist me on how to create dynamic context sensitive help using RoboHelp 2015.
