Responsive Layout HTML 5 output has to adjust the screen resolution and setting whereever the output is viewed ie. Desktop, Laptop, Tablet or Mobile. But I can view the output of Desktop only in 95% zoom of the computer, in 100% zoom in desktop shows the output in the below format:Desktop view: in 100% zoom: Its a bug, we need to fix it as like the second screen capture in 95 % zoom on desktop:We need solution for this since we cannot refer the User the browser type & fixed screen resolution,so I need my output should auto adjust to all screens and browsers, kindly fix me as early as possible, since I have been at the final phase of the project
I've never seen this in earlier versions. When I import a Word document, I'm used to having the new Robohelp topic show indentation on the left. In RH2017 there is no left margin at all, so I have to move all the content to the right. I can't find a setting, and don't know what to do in Word to make a margin stick. Thoughts?Message was edited by Peter Grainge to correct version.
Hi all,We have a custom button set up as a div. I can add the div to what would be the button text easily enough, but I can't find a way to link it without just going into the code. That is, it won't let me attach a hyperlink to a DIV.Is there some trick to this I'm not seeing? I could swear I've done this before...Thanks!Christian
Hi,When we generate a word document/output of a help system in RH 2017, there are instances where the formatting is disrupted for example dynamic text, bullets etc.Is there a way/trick where we can ensure that the output is exactly the way we see it in the browser help?Exception dynamic text, which will be shown as flat in the word output.
Hi,I'm using RH 2017, Azure_Blue layout.I have turned "off" the search field in the TOC pane, but kept the search field in the upper-right, header area. I do this so that search results display in the content pane. The right scroll-bar (content pane) does not appear when there are more search results that fit on one page, i.e., more than 7 or 8 results using IE 10. My display is set to 100%.As a test, I searched for a common word and it returned 545 results. Only 7.5 results display on the page - and no scroll bar, no "next page", nothing, at 100% zoom. When I zoom out to 50%, I see that 14 search results display....and at the end of that list it says "End of Search Results". This means that 531 search results are missing and unavailable.I have changed the size of my IE window, thinking a scroll bar will appear as the window changes, but it does not. The scroll bar DOES appear when the search results jump to the left of the screen (TOC pane) as
I'd like to add our logo as a splash page that appears for a few seconds each time online help is accessed by the user. I tried using the design-time controls, and the logo will appear fine when viewing just the page from within Robohelp. However, the splash does not appear when viewing the files outside of robohelp. I've searched Adobe.com and the only thing I can come up with is that splash screens work with Microsoft HTML help only. Is there a way to have a splash page? I saw the option of creating a redirect, but I didn't like the outcome.Thank you! Ellen
When I preview my settings, I see the TOC / Index / Search / Glossary icons in the preview & when I open in a browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE).When I compile and view my HTML5 output, there are no icons.Has anyone encountered this?I've triedopening an older project (A) and compiling with the same layout - the icons display for project A in the browsercopying the !ScreenLayout!\Charcoal_Grey folder from the A project folder to the 'troubled' project folder (Troubled) - the icons don't display after I compile the Troubled project and view in the browser.opening both projects in separate RoboHelp instances and comparing my settings - I don't see a difference.creating a brand-new project (Newbie) and compiling, the icons display for project Newbie in the browser. What else could I try?Message was edited by: Paul Hanson - added screenshot of what I see in the browser, after compiling - the red box is where the TOC / Index / Search / Glossary icons should be.
HiI am planning to publish help online as HTML5 Responsive help rather than locally installed CHM files.I have published my child projects into the MergedProjects folder OK for HTML5 Responsive help. When I open the index.htm file of my parent project the merged projects are displayed correctly in the TOC. The Search also works fine across parent and child projects. However, hyperlinks are not preserved if they include the CHM file in the hyperlink. As a rule, I include the CHM file so that the link between CHMs will always work. For example, links will not be preserved in the HTML5 Responsive help (no underline, no hyperlink).Parent.chm::/GettingStarted/Notes.htmChild1.chm::/MoreNotes.htmChild2.chm::/EverMoreNotes.htmBut this link is preserved (underlined and hyperlinked)./GettingStarted/Notes.htm I need the links between CHMS, and within CHMS, to be preserved in HTML5 Responsive help. Is there an answer to this? Thanks!
Hi,I've had a lot of help over the last few days figuring out how to use the RH2017 Indigo format. Thanks very much to all who contributed.I have a dozen or so child projects that I'd like to publish using the Azure_Blue screen layout, and link those to the Parent Indigo TOC. I've tried this briefly this morning and if I add a merged project to the parent Indigo TOC, after I create the output the TOC isnt shown at all.If I add a book to the Parent Indigo TOC and add the linked project under the book, that book is shown but the project isnt.
Hello,Need help in Indigo Layout. While i am generating Responsive HTML5 output, my output is generating in the following compressed form.I want to have the full screen on my page.I don't why it is happening please help.
Hello there,I am using the Indigo theme in RH 2017 for my HTML5 help. The Favorites button is working as expected in Google Chrome. However, I am facing the following issues in Internet Explorer:1. If I save some topics as favorites in the Help in Google Chrome. And then I open the help in Internet Explorer, the saved topics are not showing up on the Favorites panel.2. If I save any topics as favorites in Internet Explorer and close the help. The favorites topics do not show up in the Favorites panel the next time open the help in Internet Explorer. Is anyone else facing the same issue? If so, have you been able to resolve it? Or is this a bug from Adobe's end?
Hello,The webhelp created using RoboHelp 2017 when opened in Chrome Browser Version 63.0.3239.108 (Official Build) (64-bit) does not opens up hyperlinks when clicked after 4 clicks. Neither it allows to expand or collapse the topics in the left hand side tripane .Is there a fix available?Regards,Suhail
Recently upgraded from RoboHelp 2015 to RoboHelp 2017. Normally, a project created in the older version updates automatically simply by opening the .xpj file in the newer version. However, RoboHelp 2017 hangs in both Windows 7 and Windows 10 when trying to open the .xpj file created in RH2015.I've tried all the old stand-bys: rebooting the computer, giving the project hours to open in case it's trying to update, attempting to open projects with a smaller number of files, re-installing RoboHelp on the computer, and installing RoboHelp on a different computer. The end result has been the same. After about 3 seconds, the Starter screen freezes and dims slightly, and RoboHelp continues to churn until I kill it in Windows. I've noticed two messages in the status section at the bottom of the screen: either "loading xxx.xpj" or "Loading DB info." I also tried deleting the .cpd file and opening from the .hhp file. Same outcome. One other observation: Typically when updating a project to a new v
I think I've found another serious flaw with the FM to RH conversion. Shocking, I know. SHOCKING!I've got single source FM document that is designed to support four different products. The products are pretty similar, which is why there is a ton of overlap. I use different book files, add remove chapters as needed, and use Conditional Text.So here's the setup: I have a paragraph that applies to two products, but not the third. So I use Conditional Text to tag the paragraph as Prod1, Prod2, and Prod3. I add a second paragraph and tag it for Prod4. When I generated the PDFs for each product, the Conditional Text filtered out only what applies per product, hiding the rest, and it worked great. When I generated the HTML5 Help for Prod1, I selected the CT filter for Prod1 in the Project Manager and selected the CT filter for Prod1 in Outputs(SSL) for HTML5. It worked great: the text for Prod1 appeared and the text for Prod2, Prod3, and Prod4 were hidden and it was all peaches and cream. But
Hello,With Chrome version 63, the Web Help books fail to expand. It worked well with Chrome version 62.Any suggestion/browser setting to how to handle this?Using Search or Index is the only option because ToC has stopped working.
Hello All,In HTML5 output, below the Search box (both the one in the top far right of the screen, and the one in the left navigation pane (pictured below), there is the following text: "Display search words with all search words." Can anyone tell me how to change the color of that text? Also, can I change the wording of that text? Thanks,MarkHere, the text is black, so it's barely visible:Here, I've simply highlighted the text with my cursor. This is the text whose color I want to change.
Hello,I'm using the Indigo layout in RH17 (without the Index), and I'd like to align the Glossary, Filter, and Favorites buttons in the center of the homepage underneath the search bar. Is there a way to do this? The buttons are left-aligned by default, but I'd much rather position them in the middle of the page. Thanks,Drew
I have a question. Currently we have an application/software hosted on a server. Users access it via a browser. The help is integrated with the application/software as part of the build. This has been very crazy because the product build is dependent on the documentation output and vice versa. With resource crunch, emergencies, and typical late-breaking updates this becomes a nightmare to handle. We want to continue to use RH source as we do but we want to be able to push/publish the output to a cloud-based server. So that help can be accessed via Internet. The help integration with product build can be then discontinued except for the mapids for the context-sensitive pages. Help updates can be pushed silently without disturbing product builds.Context-sensitive help calls will invoke the cloud/Internet-based help.Any pointers/suggestions on any pocket-friendly solutions would help.
Dears,Would you please help me find a solution for navigating through the table of contents?I am using RoboHelp 2015/ Version: 12.0.2.384, when I generate a project, I could not navigate the project's pages using the TOCs.Any solutions please?Regards.
My accessibility testing of RoboHTML files is failing with this error: WCAG 2.0: Success Criterion 3.1.1: The value of the LANG attribute must be set to one of the ISO 639 language codes. [LanguageISO639_2]. I tried adding the following lines of code (one at a time) to one of my pages: <html lang="eng" xml:lang="eng"> <html lang="en-us" xml:lang="en-us"> <html lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <html xmlns=" http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <hhtml xmlns=" http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="eng" lang="eng"> Then I regenerated the files, but I still get the error. Does anyone know how I can fix this? It would be nice if I could add the correct code to the template ... Thanks.
I have a lot of variables in my project and when I use the search feature it usually finds results based on old variable values. How can I update the project so that the search finds results with the current variable values?
Hello,I have heavily customized the Indigo template to suit my company's design standards. All was looking good until I uploaded the new help to our server and tried out context-sensitive help from our application.I am getting some other kind of page template that I didn't expect. It shows the topic contents only, and doesn't have the TOC/Search etc. At the top left is a link: "Click here to see this page in full context." This link doesn't even work properly - our correct help template flashes and then this odd "context topic" page returns. If you would like to see what I am talking about, please click: Selecting Similar Objects I have searched and searched, and cannot figure out where this context-sensitive page is coming from. It's not in Topic.slp that I can find. (Topic.slp is my Default page since I didn't care for the Homepage with its TOC links.) I do not see another page layout or slp page, or special css for this layout. I searched my .css files for the "Indigo" light blue col
Hello. My issue is similar to a problem posted earlier. However, there are a few differences. We recently upgraded from RH9 to RH 2017 release (build 13.0.2.334). When generating WebHelp, FlashHelp, or Responsive HTML5 output the search feature did not work at all when previewed or when uploaded to our web server (not SharePoint). Adobe Tech Support sent the following instructions for a fix:Download the file from the fowling link: Link deleted by Moderator. See Post numbered 4 in thread. Once downloaded extract the zip file. Copy the file “loadprojdata.js”.Go to the location <RoboHelp_install_location>\RoboHTML\ResponsiveHelpExt\widgets\common\scripts> and replace with the existing one. This fixed the search issue for Responsive HTML5 output when previewed and when uploaded to web server and viewed with IE11. It did not fix the issue for FlashHelp or WebHelp when uploaded to web server and viewed with IE11. Search works when previewed, but not when it's been uploaded to t
Any points to be considered when we migrate from traditional Web Help to responsive Layout? We also have existing context-sensitive topic calls. Map IDs have been assigned to the topics in RH 2017.Any pointers on how the developers can update their code to make way for Responsive layout?
I used robohelp 9 word.I upgraded to RoboHelp 2017 3 months ago and it worked. This week applied update2 and now my TOC are not working.I don't have a hpj files mine is xpj.
