RoboHelp

Does anyone have any experience of publishing to Confluence?  Can it be done directly, or would you publish as Web Help, or similar, and then link the pages to the Confluence site?We'd also like to tie our documentation to the relevant software release which is kept in gitHub.  What would be the best way to do this?

I'm able to generate top-level topic keywords by selecting a keyword in a topic, then right-click, then Add to > Index Keyword > Topic Index Keyword. But I can't figure out how to make a topic subkeyword. The RoboHelp help doesn't even seem to mention subkeywords at all.

For example, I have two document versions with mostly common text and some conditional text (for example, Europe vs North America). I would like the reader to toggle between both formats, similar to the option presented with the 'glasses view' within Rohohelp. I am generating Responsive_HTML5 and it is stored (and accessed) on SharePoint.

I am using RoboHelp 11.0.0.179. There are two topics in my project that repeatedly disappear from the project. They do appear in the generated help without graphics. I can find them in Windows Explorer in the RoboHelp folder that holds all of the other topics. When I re-import them, they will remain in the project until I close RoboHelp. When I reopen the project, they are missing again.We use Subversion to store our source files. When I look back at the Subversion log, I can see that these files have been re-added to RoboHelp several times by my predecessors.I was able to find several related threads from 2008 and 2010, but following the advice in them led me nowhere. (Please do not tell me to stop using SVN. I don't control how we store our source files.)Has anyone else had this problem, and more importantly, is there a solution?

Can the TOC font size be changed in the Theme 1 Standard responsive layout.? I can change the actual font but can't see an option to change font size which I think is very odd.?Any way to do this?

Hello RHelpers,We're updating our home/default page on our chm, and we'd like to add a nice fat Search box directly onto the htm page. Is it possible to do this somehow? Or is the only way to search in a chm is to use the tri pane tab?We're using RH 9.

My index is not displaying its subcategories properly when I generate Web Help in RoboHelp 2015. The subcategories appear correctly when I generate the same help file set in HTML help (chm file). Any thoughts on why this is occurring?Thanks in advance for your help.Tom Hrkach

Hi, I am working on a project where there is a pool of shared topics among 2-3 master projects. So for each master project, I include the shared topics from the resource manager and link to them where appropriate. Some shared topics have hyperlinks pointing to other shared topics and sometimes also to the master. The problem I am facing is... when I create my WebHelp, only the first link works i.e. The hyperlink from a topic in master to shared#1 works ... but the link in shared#1 to shared#2 or shared#1 to master doesn't work. It seems the WebHelp can't find the page. How do I get this to work?Thanks.

A few tream members in my department had RoboSource removed a few weeks ago because for some reason, it was causing Windows Explorer to crash, consistently. Is there a chance that there are residual files which remain in their computers that could affect current projects? I looked in the registry, and it does not appear that the remaining RoboSource data should have any impact at all. However, my team is asking that I assure that any residual RoboSource related files on old projects will not “reinfect” the current projects they are working on. My question is this: If the registry does not show any residual files, wouldn’t that mean that the program itself is gone? Wouldn't any residual files (if they remain) be dependent on the program being installed to have any impact?

We are currently using MS Word and planning to have context sensitive Online Help, I proposed for Robohelp but my developer is saying, if we can generate HTML free of cost, what is the point to invest in Robohelp?

I have a question regarding topics, books and tocs. I have a project that somebody else created, and my task is to create a new topic and add it to the TOC. I have created the topic, but when I generate the CHM to see the project it does not appear in the TOC. I have already tried updating the TOC. What I guess (my guess) could be the problem is the "topic links", when I see the topic links of the other (old) topics they seem to have a link to the principal book, but mine the new one does not. Could you help me!??' thank you!!!

We are using RH 10.  Much of our text contains curvy quotes (ascii character set is & # 8 2 1 7 ; without the spaces).  If a user performs a string search that contains a straight single quote (ascii character set is & # 3 9 ; without the spaces) in place of the curvy single quote (e.g., "customer's assigned branch" with single quote in the search box to find "customer’s assigned branch" with curvy quote in the topic), the WebHelp search does not find the topic.Questions: Is there a way to make the search treat the single quote and curvy quote the same (or ignore the single quote altogether)?  If not, what is the best way to go about performing a search-and-replace, keeping in mind this is likely to require multiple updates to just about every topic in the RH project?Thanks!

In robohelp 11, is there a way to assign a window specifically to a topic page like there is in Robohelp 7? When in robohelp7, if you go to Topic properties for a Topic, and in the general tab you will see a "Window" field with a drop down... We are wondering if robohelp 11 also has this?

My system is authored in English and translated into 12 languages. Language number 13 is Hindi. How do I go about this for a system using MultiScreen HTML5?

RoboHelp HTML 2015I dropped my mouse. Project was open and I was editing a topic. I dropped my mouse . . . and here's what happened. I exited without saving and came back in . . now all topics display as this. Any idea on how to restore to Normal view?

I’m using RoboHelp 10 HTML to publish WebHelp onto a network server. I have 11 merged projects consisting of about 3100 topics. After several years of using this method, all of a sudden, I am unable to link to topics within other projects merged under the same parent. I can create external links outside the merged help as usual. This occurs regardless of the project I’m working on. When I use the Hyperlink dialog, I select Link to: ‘File’ and browse to the desired topic. I click the ‘Open’ button to return to the Hyperlink dialog. When I click the ‘OK’ button, nothing happens, except a change of color indicating I am making contact with the button. I have searched the forums and none of the scenarios/solutions seem to match my dilemma. I reinstalled RoboHelp on my PC.  I tried deleting the old CPD file. None have resulted in a solution.

Just wondering if Adobe is offering any comparable alternative to the CHM output file (as Microsoft Security Update 896358 will not allow CHM's to work when placed on the network)?I'd install it locally, but as I understand the security issue, the CHM remains a security risk if installed on the client.WebHelp is not currently an option in my situation (can't host the files). I know there are workarounds, but I'm not to enthused about the registry edits outlined in the link below, either, and as this post points out, the CHM remains a security risk even if you are willing to engage in registry edits:CHM Files Not WorkingAnyone know if Adobe has, or is planning to, provide another option?Thanks,Josh
