Resources did not know why and accepted the PDF output. However, the issue was brought up by a new QA employee, hence, I figure I will investigate if anyone else had the same/similar issue, and what they did to resolve the problem.PROBLEMConverting (e.g., File>SaveAs.pdf, Save as PDF, or Print>SaveAs PDF) a Word document to a PDF, there are BLANK pages between Chapters. Using Robohelp 10/FM11We recently noticed that some mappings in the All Map IDs dialog appear unmapped, but actually work properly.  Specifically, the map ID is valid, but the topic name it's mapped to is not displayed in the dialog.  That column is blank.  The .h and .ali files appear to be fine.  What's more, I noticed when I created a single sourced project from FM to RH, the markers I created manually work, but the matching topics are similarly "blank" in the dialog even though they are present in the .ali and .h, and the links work fine.  The markers that RH creates for the individual chapter names actually do appear with topic titles, the markers i create to do not. Also, the topic properties only show the RH generated Map ID, not the one I created, but again the ones I created are in the adjunct files and seem to work.The reason I am posting is that editing .h and .ali to verify mappings are correct is not trivial. We should be able to verify the mapping

Am I missing something or is there a configuration option that will allow me to determine how many topics a bread crumb trail will display? for some reason when I click on a link to a topic from my start page, and then click on another link to a topic and then another one and so on...it only shows the start or landing page and the first topic I clicked on that's it. I have been using the options in the compile settings to determine this but if there's another option to set this, please let me know.

Can anyone tell me how I use this function? I have a large number of smaller topics that I want to link into a single topic, similar to a TOC in a Word dcument that user's can click on to go to but don't want to have to create these links manually. Then if the names or the links get updated I can just run some kind of TOC to automatically update.  Is there an automated way of doing this? I see this function above in the Insert menu and I see it puts in a Contents object but where and how does it pull headers in from?Any suggestions would be appreciated.Geoff Thomson

Is it possible to add a PDF file to the Help button of an Application. Do we need RH to do so?

For some reason, when I click "close project" in RH10, the rhtemplate.apj always gets checked out and remains checked out. Everything else will get checked in except for this template file, for all projects I work with. This only happens if I make a change to the project. I can go to the Robosource 3 explorer and check in this file there, but it causes extra work for me and it shouldn't be doing this. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?

My IT department is having a difficult time pushing the Adobe Acrobat Pro XI to install on my computer. They suspect it's because of the PDF add-on in RoboHelp 11. They say the add-on is at a newer version, and therefore, the Acrobat installation keeps failing. Is there anyone experiencing this as well and is this a known issue? Is my IT department correct in thinking that the issue is due to the add-on in RH11? They're thinking we need to turn off the add-on some how.

Is anyone using RoboSource Control with Windows 8.1? I've heard rumours that it isn't compatible.ThanksJonathan

Hello,I have one robohelp project with 6 different TOCs. From each TOC, I am generating one web help and one chm output. So, in all 6 webhelp outputs and 6 CHM outputs. Now, while generating any output, I found that almost all the images from the project are included in the output even when the images are not used in the particular TOC or the respective topic is not linked from the TOC. Due to this, the size of the output is unnecessarily increasing.Has anybody come across such situation? Am I doing something wrong? Is there any option to stop getting un-referenced images added in the output?-Charudatta M.

I am comfortable creating links to topics, but is there a way to link to a heading within a topic? For example, I want to create a link in Topic A, to a Heading 2 in Topic B.

Can I save RoboHelp 11 as RoboHelp 10? is there a compatibility issue? My colleagues have 10 and I have 11. We share files. Will this be a problem?

Hi all,We have recently purchased ATCS5 and to my shock, i dont find the Multiscreen HTML5 option listed in FM12 > Publish.Is there any way where i can get this to list in FM12 along with the rest, i.e responsive html5, epub etc.In ATCS4, we had created a central multiscreen template, which the entire people in my team used and we could easily generate the help from Framemaker 11.There are numerous single ditamaps in our product, and linking them each to robohelp is not worth it. Can anyone help me, or let me know if there is a workaround to get FM12 list Multiscreen as an option under Publishing.ThanksSharada

Hello,I am using RoboHelp 11 (110.04.291) with RoboHelp Server 9.  My layout is WebHelp Pro.  Windows 7 OS.In all of my help projects, I have a Release Notes topic with hyper links out to PDF versions of our past release notes that I have added as baggage files. However, in only one of those projects, the same 7 of the 12 baggage files are dropped every other time I publish.  I have to recreate those same 7 baggage files every other time.  So strange.  The PDFs are stored inside the same structure as my robohelp project.  I've attached an image.  I have compared the PDF's and cannot find out what the difference is but the system only wants to retain the first 5 baggage files and so those hyper links remain working regardless of how many times I publish.Does anyone have any suggestions at what I should be looking at?  Am I storing them in the wrong directory of the project?  Thanks in advance.  Kind Regards, Julie

Hi everybody,I began using the Resource Manager, and I created two folders, one with HTML files (topics), and another one with pictures present in those topics.As I transferred the topics to the HTML shared folder the pictures references remained the old ones, i.e. the ones inside the project folder, right?Therefore I began reassigning the pictures to the ones copied in the pictures shared folder, and here begins to be a little bit illogical and difficult.I deleted the pictures from the original project folder as I want to save the space and have, of course, the pictures only in the shared folder, however after I reassign the pictures to one of the topics, and I sync it, the pictures I deleted appear in the root folder of the project.I wanted to have the "common" pictures (they appear in 2 different projects) only in the shared folder (declared as pictures folder in Resource Manager) because if I do a modification of one picture, I would like to have this modification propagated in the

Hi guys,i'm relatively new to RH and i have a help system to create in 3 languages (English, French, German) and in many flavors. This is for an online application with multiple user roles. The trick is that the help system is supposed to follow the hirearchy of privileges, that is, a low-level user should not see the pages covering the system settings or the admin dashboard. When a user signs in, the app will load a help file based on the respective user roles and locale settings.My dev guy is going to provide me with an xml file that contains the existing user roles and privileges, and the outputs should be generated accordingly. The SSL of our choice is responsive HTML5. I'm guessing this is possible to do in RH11, tho frankly i have no idea where to start. What would be the proper approach to set up this project? I've created less convoluted user guides earlier and i was happy with the results but am stuck with this one.Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Folks,I work for the Navy and recently upgraded my .xpj project files from RoboHelp 10 to RoboHelp 11 (version 11.0.3.268). After a few design edits I tried generating a CHM file and received the following 2 error messages and one warning message.1. (Warning) Warning: The size of stop file has to be limited in 512 bytes.2.(Error) The HTML tag " ?rh-anchor-id id="IX_Filter_83"?" is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character).3.(Error) HHC3004: Warning (The .Jpg File Name) XXXXXX-XXXX-XX .jpg: The Html tag " ]!@#$$%%^&_(*&^(_#$% ^%$& is not a valid HTML tag (It does not begin with an alphanumeric character).After generating the .CHM file  I cannot view it and when I tried to do anything else with it, RoboHelp 11 will not run because it says the file is already open. I checked the SSL/Microsoft HTML Help folder and there is no copy of the file to be found nor can I find any process or CHM file open in MS Task Manager.Please note: RoboHelp 10

Around 30 days ago the printer stopped printing PDF files. We are using Adobe Reader XI, with a Brother model HL-2240 printer.The printer will print documents made using Word, or Excel, but not when in PDF format, it doesn't matter if the PDF file was done hereor taken from the internet.When trying to print a PDF file a box pops up saying "The document could not be printed", when you click "Ok". another box pops up saying"There were no pages selected to print". It makes no difference if the PDF file is a single page, or several pages.We have removed, & reinstalled Adobe Reader, making no difference.Windows 7 is installed on the computer.Any help in solving this problem, would be greatly appreciated.

After a 15 minute wait on my computer trying to get Photoshop support, I was asked to leave myphone number and a representative would get back to me.  When they called later in the day, the representativewanted to access my computer.  He had me type into a logmein123 address (I had never heard of this before).The minute I pressed enter, a major warning from my cable company came on my screen warning methat there were major security threats to my computer.  The representative told me to hold on, I closed the screendown, and then he had me go to join in to access my laptop and was able to fix my problem.Is it normal protocol to use logmein123?

Twice already today I was using RH 10 and a tool tip appeared and remained frozen on the screen. I have tried some fixes I found on Windows forums, but nothing is working.Does RH 11 have this problem?

Hello All,I am putting custom skins on my .chm files by generating a WebHelp file and then using the WebHelp to CHM Converter in RoboHelp 10. The problem I'm running into is that when I open the .chm file, the Navigation Bar buttons are missing. I've seen some articles online that suggest that this is expected behavior and that the conversion back to .chm removes those Navigation Bar buttons. I've also read about Browse Sequences in regards to this issue, but don't know if I should delve into that topic if the conversion is going to remove the navigation bar buttons anyways. Does the WebHelp to CHM Converter in RoboHelp 10 remove those buttons? Also, is there a way within this process to add those buttons in at some point to ensure their inclusion in the final .chm file?Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.Pat

HII am using RH11 as part of TCS 5.I have embedded an MP4 video in one of the topics. When I test it on my mobile (Nexus 5 running latest version of Android) from our LMS, the video is not scaled. How do I solve this? Is there a way to fix it within RoboHelp? Should I scale it outside RH and then import it here? If yes, how do I manage it for different devices, for example a larger one for tablet and smaller one for mobile?Sreekanth

I have a multi-chapter project in FrameMaker 12 that I've linked in RH11. I use RH to auto-generate the TOC. The first page of each topic has the first two headings from each FM chapter, with the remaining headings starting each remaining topic. I've done this by creating and mapping two paragraph styles in FM. H0, H1, and H1A. I use FM to auto number them like this:100 H0 Chapter title101 H1A Topic 1102 H1 Topic 2103 H1 Topic 3In RH Project Settings / FM conversion settings, I set H1 to start a new topic, which creates a corresponding TOC entry. I've set H1A to not start a new topic because my client wants it on the same page as the first topic. However this of course doesn't create a TOC entry. This makes it look like the H1A entry is missing from the document.Is there a way to have RH include a FM paragraph in the TOC, but exclude it from creating a new topic?

This may get a bit lengthy but I want to lay it all on the table in the hope of getting to the root thus helping to arrive at an answer.For the past several months I've been developing a help system for a food processing plant. This is a brand new plant with state of the art technology. They wanted a system that would house all the SOPs for the facility and also all the manuals for all the equipment. I arrived on the scene late in the game so things were a bit disorganized to say the least. The SOP documents are all Word docs - some 2010 and some 2007 or earlier. Some are in an old style format and some developed in a new template that I created to try and standardized things. The manuals are all PDF documents.I've worked with RoboHelp before but not on a project like this. My previous project was built from the ground up with style sheets, fixed layouts etc. This project is not like that. HiI have mapped some text coming from Word document to Source. However, when I publish the WebHelp output, this text is taking up the default font of the browser, changing the Source font Arial to Times New Roman. Is there way to control that and force them to display in Arial font?Sreekanth

Good morning.I am using RoboHelp 9 and I have been facing problems when I try to copy master pages to new blank projects.Here's the thing: I have already created master pages including everything I consider as standard in my projects (that means, font style, font size, remarks and so on).The only way I've got to apply those master pages was importing them from an existing Project.However, when I copy those master page files in separate (.css and .htt) I am not able anymore to apply those styles in a new Project.I would like to ask your help, because I do not want to have to open an existing file every time I need to copy and apply master pages.Instead of it, I would like to save my standard master pages in a diferente folder, so that I could use them in any Project I want to.I will be looking forward your reply.Thanks in advance!Camila Silva
