RoboHelp

I have installed RH 11 and all 4 patches. When I open a RH8 project in the new RH 11, I'm receiving root.fpj and rhbag.fpj errors.  Any ideas as to how to fix or what is causing the issues? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Opening a RoboHelp 8 project in new RoboHelp 11 and receive the following error:An error occurred while trying to save data to rhbag.apj...I can see this file in the project but many of my baggage files (.pdfs) are missing and I am not able to add them back into the project. I select New Baggage file and select the file to add, however the file is not added and no other error is received.Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

When generating a Responsive Design HTML 5 output, I'm getting this error:  "MasterThemeSchema.xml file has invalid data." I am unable to  access the manage layout features now to continue my customizations.  I had imported a customized font before seeing this message. I'm moved the project to my harddrive, where the software is installed, and and still getting it (I know RH doesn't always do well on a network drive).  Any ideas?

Can i subscribe on monthly basis? If so, how?  My monthly subscription has ended.

When I following the instructions for inserting a Multimedia file using the Insert > Multimedia Demo option.I can insert an audio clip (.wav) no problem. I can click the View Selected Items icon and see an audio player (Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/jBowwVKtQ), but when I actually generate the help I no longer get an audio player and the sound clip automatically plays.Is there a way that I can have the audio clip and player appear when I generate the help like when I use the View Selected Items icon and not auto play with no player option?Thanks for your help!

First - recently purchased RH v11, after using 8 for many years. But that has nothing to do with this issue.Due to a series of catastrophic events, I lost my VMware drive (where I create my content) and my backup drive as well. I do have a backup on an external drive from about 8 months ago. I create content locally, then publish to a webserver for our users to view over our intranet.I pulled the content down from my webserver, but there is no .xpj file. Old backup has a lot of extra folders (under !SSL!, WebHelp, WebHelp_Pro), which I'm thinking are unnecessary. So - thinking of the following, and wondering what people might advise is best:Use the old files from the backup and recreate data. I think I'd shoot myself.Copy everything under each project from the backup into the projects I downloaded from the webserver into my old local folders, but don't overwrite any existing filesAny other suggestions? Trying to install Robohelp 11 (not server version) and getting stopped when Robohelp wants me to create a database. There is no database software on this machine and SOE does not permit a database product.Can I still use Robohelp?

When we are running a search on a merged project, pressing Cancel to cancel the operation, followed by running a new search results in a Javascript error on both Firefox and IE (11).  In Firefox the response is to send the user an error message saying that the script is taking too long to run continue/cancel.  Continuing results in a loop-back to the error, eventually.  Cancel and reload filxes the issue.  On IE, it shows show as a hung browser.Thoughts?-m

Our team is currently using a old version of Robohelp and are looking to update it.  We've looked at the pros and cons of Helpsmith, Doc-To-Help, Madcap Flare and, of course, Robohelp 11.  If our version 7 files could easily be converted then Robohelp 11 would immediately jump to the top our of interest list.Thanks,Greg

I just got the new TC suite 5. I used to have TC suite 3.5.I have many documents created in FrameMaker 9 from TC 3.5. Now, when I convert them to the new FM 11, randomly graphics that were Imported by Copy into the document are suddenly showing up missing. FM 11 is trying to find them in the original folders I inserted them from, which are unfortunately long gone.The first few times it happened I thought it was my mistake. But a document that I'd opened in FM 11 and worked fine suddenly came up searching for some graphics, and they're graphics I'd inserted several versions ago, so now I know that it's not my error. For some reason, Frame 11 is deciding that some graphics imported by copying into the document many versions ago were imported by reference.Any thoughts? How can I report this to Adobe?

I've selected the Exclude this topic from Search checkbox for a specific topic and generated a new CHM file. But when searching for a specific word, the topic appears in the search results. Is there a bug with this issue?

I cannot open projects or import files or images in RoboHelp. I can open existing projects in Windows Explorer, but I cannot open them via File > Open, or by clicking Open...on the splash screen. I am trying to create a new project, but cannot import my company's css, skin, or any other templates I need to create the project I want. This is a Robo problem only. I do not have this problem with FM or Captivate. This is a fairly recent problem that seemed product related, not project related, so i uninstalled and reinstalled robo help, but it did not help anything. When I click File > Open or File > Import, Robo freezes, and I cannot click anything. When I hit Esc on the keyboard the mouse is released and I can again navigate and click stuff in RoboHas anyone else had this problem?

I've been working with my developer to implement CSH responsive HTML by calling topic URLs. He said this was working just fine when he initially consumed my files. Now that I've done an update, he says they are behaving differently. He's calling the topic within an iFrame and, when he does this for any topic other than the default topic, the topic displays, but he doesn't get the help framework (TOC, glossary, etc.). For example, his call is to this directory: !SSL!/Project/topic.htm He says that he can call it like this !SSL!/Project/index.htm#t=topic.htm then the topic displays just fine, but the window resizes when he click the TOC or any of the buttons within the help framework. Perhaps Willam van Weelden can assist?

Is there an easy way to replace the Show link with a button? This is a nice-to-have, just want to know if it's more trouble than it's worth. Or can you tell me how/where the link is styled? Client would like it a little more obvious/intuitive (I've already changed the text to Show All Help Topics).Thanks,Laurie

Is there a preferred resolution when creating demos for RoboHelp topics?

I changed the label on "Related Topics" now the Display button does not appear when viewing the topics after generating. I tried changing the label back to Related Topic, but that didn't work. How do I get the Display button back?

I'm using Rh 10.0.1.292 and Rh 11.0.4.291 for different projects.Recently, I've noticed that the Search feature returns no results, in any of my projects that are generated in either Rh10 or 11. I just get the "No topics found" message. This used to work.The only thing that has been done recently (that I can think of) involved working with .slp files to fix an issue with the Glossary tab and the Search functionality in a Rh 11 Responsive HTML5 layout. (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1690579) I can't, however, see how that would break the Search functionality in my HTML projects.Any ideas?

Using RH11.03 - Multiscreen HTML5 Layouts (not sure if it applies to Responsive Layout).Each time I generate help, the following "placeholder" text appears at the bottom of topic files:Going into the Desktop "Topic (Default)" file displays this placeholder text, which I can delete to leave empty paragraph tags. However, each time I save/generate the file, the text re-appears (and increments so there are multiple placeholder paragraphs).How do I delete this text. I've opened the Layout.CSS file and see the following for the "contenttopic" div class and the wTopic widget, but I have no idea how this generates the placeholder text: Any light you could shed would be appreciated.Thanks,George

I just got RoboHelp 11 installed. I specifically upgraded to allow me to link my many Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Word 2010 since RoboHelp 8 will not allow you to .docx files.  When I try to link there Word docs, it only shows me options for .doc and .rtf files (as shown below). I have the Microsoft Office 2010 suite installed and usable on my computer.  As the tutorials state:You can create a RoboHelp project by importing a Word document. To import Word files, you must have MicrosoftWord installed on your computer.Note: DOCX and DOCM formats are not supported by versions earlier than Microsoft Word 2007. See Microsoft WordI was able to create a new project using a .docx file, but even that project once created shows this same window without the .docx and .docm options when linking or importing new Word Documents.Is there a setting or an update that is needed to allow me to select .docx file types for Linking and Importing?

I am generating a CHM using RoboHelp 10. I have certain pop-ups in some topics. These pop-ups contain screen shots. After generating the CHM, when I click the pop-ups to view the screen shots, they are not displayed correctly. That is, half of the image does not appear and there are no horizontal scroll bars either to scroll. This happens for pop-ups that are appear on the left side of a topic.The images inside pop-ups that appear to the right side of a topic appear fine when clicked.

In order to minimise manual work, is it possible to integrate Robohelp into a Buildsystem (like Jenkins) and let it generate artifacts overnight?Artifacts are some Webhelp projects and PDFs.So, I want my build machine (running on Windows) to retrieve my help projects from source control, start Robohelp and let it create the artifacts from my help projects.After creation my build machine puts all generated artifacts into the artifact repository and stops.Basically, I need either to click automatically through all needed Robohelp projects (e.g. through AutoIt) or create a script which does everything for me. I'd prefer a script.Is this possible?

I am using RoboHelp 11 with SharePoint 2010 for version control. How can I work off-line and then re-synch my files with SharePoint when reconnected?If I allow the connection to SharePoint to remain while working remotely through VPN, I am constantly annoyed by notices that "the underlying connection is lost." Does anyone know how to fix/what is wrong with multi level lists inside drop-downs, inside drop-downs? (hope that makes sense!) Basically, if you create a drop-down hotspot, then create another drop-down hotspot inside that and put a multi-level list inside it, the numbering for the list does not show up. I've checked the output HTML and it seems identical to a normal multi-level list (strangely RoboHelp uses P tags instead of LI/UL tags).I'm using RoboHelp 8 by the way.Thanks...

Hello All!I am working with a large FM book (100+ FM files) that we have linked to a RoboHelp 10 project. Everytime I update my RH project I am getting this error:I have tried copying the folder, deleting the .apj file, and reopening. RHopens just fine. The other major issue I am having is when I save and generate the project RoboHelp freezes up and won't save & generate the layout. I have all of the FM files open and updated. Everything that can be updated in RH before save and genereate is updated. Any ideas??Thanks!!
