Greetings,First time post, based on need…My organization currently utilizes Robohelp for building their help documentation, and we are trying to assess the feasibility of upgrading to RH11. Our last help document was built using RH10, we can publish just fine, and all appears well. I’ve recently installed the RH11 trail just to see if I can get it working . I open the project from our shared location, and it downloads the current project files to my local machine. From there I point RH to my project file and choose ‘open’. From there it recognizes that the project was built in an older version, and it asks if I would like to upgrade. I choose the upgrade option, and all appears well until it gets to the reloading files step (viewing the status bar at bottom). No progress is made, and I give it about 5 minute until I get the message from robohelp… “Robohelp has stopped working.”Windows 8 8.1RH 11 Trial 64 bitAny help regarding this would be greatly appreciated!Thank You!

The CSS displays correctly in the Design view of the topic in RH10, but does not display correctly if I view the topic using the CTRL+W command from within RoboHelp, and does not display correctly in the compi
Hi,I need to customize the colors and icons in Screen Layout for iPads and iPhones. The Home slp has links to TOC and Index slps. In the Home page's HTML view, I can't find code that links to the default orange header_background.png or the icons for Content, Index, or Glossary.(I see them in Windows Explorer view when I open C:\HELP\iPad Help\HelpProject\!ScreenLayout!\iPad_Layout_TEST.) How can I change header_backround.png in slp for iPad or iPhone?Do I need to create a new SLP and can I insert our company logo into it? I really just want to generate output that uses colors other than the iPad default gray and brown or iPhone default light blue and gray Screen Layouts. I'd prefer to use the default SLPs I see in the Project Set-up pod and just edit them to change colors and icons.I have opened each slp under iPad Layout and don't see where I can change the defaults used on the Home page slp. What am I missing? I would like to make copies of the header and Contents and Index icons and
Does the BugHunter tool work on a 64-bit machine in RoboHelp 10?
I was previously using RoboHelp 8 on Windows 7 64-bit. Yesterday, I uninstalled RoboHelp 8, and installed Technical Communication Suite 5, selecting RoboHelp 11, Acrobat, and Captivate. Now, When I try to launch RoboHelp 11 from the Start menu, the app crashes immediately. I am still using RH8 and I'm creating documentation for a new version of a product. We created the documentation for the old version and 80% of the changes we need to make are just changing the version #. So I figured it would just be easiest to copy the old documentation and then do a find and replace. Is there an easy way to copy a Robohelp project?
I'm currently using RH8 and want to upgrade due to compatiblity with Chrome browsers, I'm not that technical and get no assistance from our dev. group and took on the project from another employee that was let go. I just need an easy upgrade. Therefore, I think 10 would be more appropriate than 11 for my purposes. I have a rather large help file but quite simple. I don't use all the bells and whistles RoboHelp has to offer. I also read that I need to have RoboHelp Server to upgrade to 11. What is that? I use RoboHelp XML and publish to our internet server - is that the same thing? Is 10 still available? Your suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks,MP
I see there is not yet a Responsive forum so I'll try the question here...We would like to do the conditional build thing to tailor the users' views according to content specific to them. This will work, but will produce multiple sets of compiled filesI am hoping there is a dynamic approach out there similar to what is described on Peter Grainge's site at http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/rh_tour/index.htm but this is for WebHelp onlyIf it is not possible in Responsive, then it woud be a very usefult new feature to suggest to Adobe
Hi,I am having trouble with a .chm project that was created for Windows XP use that now needs to work with Windows7. I have tested the functionality of the project and everything but the PDFs works properly. It gives me a blank screen with an x in the corner. When the URL is copied into a new window, it works fine. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?
I am hoping to get advice on the recommended way to migrate a RH8 project to another PC – the project has been upgraded from earlier version of RH and other users and appears to be carrying a lot of baggage (strange and exotic files). I looked for an “export” function but failed to see any guidance on this in the forums. Hope you can help.
Hello,I am using Robohelp 10. I have a project with several books and topics. When I generate a web help, everything is fine. But now, I have to generate a printed version of it. My problem is that on the table of contents of the generated document, the books are now shown. I need those books to be shown. Please advise.I can not post the project I am using so I just used a very simple project which I created. This is the original TOC.and this is the resulting TOC in the printed document. The books should still be part of the contents same with the original TOC. I do not know what is wring with my set-up since I only used the default one. It will be great if you can reply to me ASAP since we need to publish our help document. Thanks a lot!
If I delete a topic in the Project Manager in RH10 then I get the option to not delete links to the deleted topic (useful as I then want to search on broken links). The downside is I can only delete one topic at a time. However, I can delete multiple topics using the Topic List but it deletes the link to the topic as well.Does anyone know how I can delete multiple topics in RH10 and keep the broken links to the deleted topic?
I am using RoboHelp 10, Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16540, Windows 8. I applied the Mark of the Web fix (template updates), even though they were for IE 11, and I still can't display help locally. http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/webhelp-issues-robohelp-versions-10.htmlIf I turn off Mark of the Web, I can display the Help locally. If I keep the box checked, IE hangs when I try to open the .htm file. Is anyone else experiencing this problem on IE10?
I'm using RoboHelp 9 (yes, we're behind the times here). I have a question about something that's never worked, but it's been a low priority, so I just kept ignoring it.When I generate a Word version of my project, it has an index, but none of the index entries are hyperlinked. The TOC entries are hyperlinked, so why aren't the index entries?Environment:RoboHelp 9Word 2013, but it never worked with Word 2010Windows 7 Professional, 64-bitProject Settings:Add New Keywords to Index File (HHK)Binary IndexWhat do I need to do to make the index entries hyperlinks when I generate the Word doc?
Hi all, I have one client project for whom we still use TCS1, for updates about twice a year. This is the only client we use it for, so we have never upgraded. We do have a copy of RH10 standalone, but otherwise we have been increasingly using Flare (I am the lone hold-out, I like RH).So the client has just observed that the webhelp cannot be viewed in Chrome, and I confirmed that that was a known issue. I suggested that HTML5 might be a better output for newer browsers/versions, so the options would be to upgrade to the current TCS ($1200 the boss is not anxious to absorb for one client), or convert the project to Flare (which might be a better solution to use Lingo for translation). The client is reluctant to switch to HTML5 because some clients still use older browsers, e.g. IE8, that don't fully support HTML5.I also just discovered that the current help files don't work in IE10 (topic pane is blank). I know RH10 and 11 have a fix for this. So I had the brainwave to upgrade the RH p
Hello everyone! I am hoping that someone will be able to assist me. I am working in RH 9 and i have received the following error when i select to resolve my broken links. "You cannot resore a topic that would be outside the project folder. Please make sure feferences are to the project folder then try restoring the topics." Can anyone assist with this error? I have checked my folders and the source and line files are in the correct folders. Thank you in advance.
Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for any help you can offer. One of our projects has four WebHelp output folders. Each one contains subfolders for images, videos, and pdfs -- resources referenced within the topics. Our client has asked us to centralize these resources into a single folder so that these files -- especially large ones like videos -- don't need to have multiple redundant copies hosted on their servers. So the top level folder structure that we deliver to the client should be:output1output2output3output4resources||---images|---pdfs|---videosIn the source, I now reference these types of files using "../../resources/videos/<filename>". This relative path points to a folder outside the main RH project folder ("resources" is a sibling of the project folder). In the case of videos and pdfs, everything works as expected. The videos and pdfs aren't copied into the output folder. But RoboHelp continues to copy all images into the output folder...into the *parent* o
The same also applies for Framemaker 11 and 12 - after installing the new versions, the old versions crash when opened. Older versions are not affected, Framemaker 7.2 still works fine.Does anybody encounter the same.. bug? Feature? Anyway I prefer to keep older versions until I am sure that my tool chain still works.Robert
Is there a way to copy index keywords or an entire index from one Robohelp 10 project to another? I have a project that I made extensive edits to. I had to tweak the mobile.css file and screen layouts, etc. It doesn't have all the index keywords I need and I want to avoid re-creating/linking index entries. Is there a way I can copy them from another project I have?
RoboHelp for Word inserts double quotes at the end of a topic that has conditional text, I do not see the quotes in the Word document, but the quotes are present in the CHM file.Using Windows 7, RoboHelp v9.0.023 and Microsoft Office Word 2007.From MS Word document:From the CHM file:
I'm using Robohelp 9 with Windows 7, office 2007 and trying to generate printed documentation. I've adjusted security in MS Word and go through the setup in single source options in robohelp but when it gets to the point of trying to generate printed output it seems to get stuck on Processing documents. I try to cancel out but nothing happens and am forced to control quit.Am I missing some kind of configuration options?
What file formats can RoboHelp 10 generate?
I noticed that some headings in my Printed Document were duplicated. I investigated and found that topics used as Books in the TOC had that problem: The first heading was duplicated in the Printed Document. I also happened to use the first heading as the topic heading. What is the solution to the problem? I know I can delete such headings in the Word document after the Printed document is generated.
Hello all,RoboHelp HTML 8: version 8.0.2.208Single Source Layouts: WebHelpOS: Win 7 EnterpriseWhy does RH 8 WebHelp generate my entire help file project rather what I specified in WebHelp General (property settings). I have a specified a TOC and Index, I do not want the 'other' content. Note: No Merged Projects was performed. Please follow below to get a better/visual perspective. In reference to figure 1 below, Is there a way to set RoboHelp 8 properties to ONLY generate a sub-folder (outlined in red) instead of the complete master project folder (outlined in green)?Figure 1.After file generation output reference figure 2 below, noticed the ‘SRC” folder (outlined in green) is generated as well.Figure 2If I drill-down (double-click) on the folder (see figure 3) you will notice there are 3 sub-folders (outlined in green)... I am working with Robohelp 10 and producing Webhelp files. I would like the appearance of the Help output to be similar to what I see in MS Word when I hit the Help question and go to their Online Help site. It seems some of the overall format can be controlled by a skin but after trying several of them, I see that they are all following the same basic layout with the navigation on top left, the content/books on the left and the topic details on the right. Is there any way to change this up and make it more like what I see in the more current MS Help files? Are there skins available somewhere that have a different general layout to them then the ones I've seen? Thanks for any of your ideas.
