Hi,I want to create context sensitive WebHelp using Robohelp 9. We do not have numeric Map IDs to map the help topic to the web application. So, we want to map the help topics using string (url) as a Mapping ID. I've found some information on below link but I could not understand much. I’m using RoboHelp 10 and generating webhelp outputs for a merged project with 10 child projects. I’m using IE as my default browser. Early this week windows updates and a Java update (version 7 update 51) were installed on my laptop. I generated my merged project (same as I’ve always done and never had any issues) locally on my laptop. When I went to view the project the following error message displayed: Error reading masterData.xml. At that time I noticed that my IE had updated to IE11. I’m making a presumption that this error is due to the updates because last Friday I published my project viewing on IE 10 and did not get the error. As a side note, the project does go thru the complete generating process its just when I go to view the project is when the error occurs. I can close the error message but when I select another topic the error appears again.I searched the Adobe discussions to see if this is a known issue but I didn’t see anything specific to RoboHelp 10 or IE11. I hope this is in the right forum ...I author documentation in Microsoft Word and then import into RoboHelp HTML (v11 & generating in the Multiscreen HTML5 layout).I have multiple word documents and a lot of hyperlink in those word documents.Some documents have hyperlinks that reference locations in different documents.At the moment, when I import Word documents, the hyperlinks that reference locations in a different document break (dont work) which causes a great deal of work for me to find and fix. Is it possible to have a hyperlink in Document A link to a spot in Document B and have it stil work after the documents have been imported?

I have RoboHelp 10 running on Microsoft Wincdows 7 operating sytem. I have completed my help topics in RoboHelp 10 and was using the Microsoft HTML Help layout/format to create my final .CHM help file. When I compile the help I don't get any error messages and all seems to be good. The .CHM file does get generated but when I open/run it, there are problems. It "freezes" on the first Help topic and none of the buttons or links work. I also can't close it down; I have to force it closed using the Task Manger. As a test, I also tried generating other help file formats using the same help topics/project I used to create the .CHM file. For example, I used the Multiscreen HTML5, WebHelp, and WebHelp Pro source layouts to generate a Help file and all of them function properly to produce a working Help file. It's just the .CHM file that is not working correctly. Is this a problem with Windows 7, RoboHelp 10 on Windows 7, or some other key process/step I forgot to do or include before generatin

How do I view the output of a generated output?  I have several Word procedures I will be importing to publish for iPhone, Android, tablets and computers.  How do I view the generated output on the respective devices?

I'm using RoboHelp 8 -> RoboHelp HTML, and I have MS Word 2007 and "Adobe PDF Creation Add-On 9" installed.To generate a pdf, I navigated to "Single Source Layouts" and double-clicked "Printed Documentation" (File -> Generate -> PDF should be the same), and I kept getting an error: "macros disabled. Please see printed documentation for enabling macros."I finally went to Word 2007, pressed the "button" (upper left), selected Word Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center settings, and selected "Enable all macros." The default setting was "Disable all macros with notification."When I selected "Enable all macros," I could now generate a pdf - but what does enabling macros in Word have to do with generating a pdf? Maybe this has something to do with the order that Office 2007 and the "Adobe PDF Creation Add-On 9" were installed. It appears I do not have a bonafide version of Acrobat 9 installed (just Acrobat Reader 9.3), and maybe that's the problem. Thanks for any help or adv

I'm hoping someone here knows the answer to this.  We have a number (a LOT) of projects in RoboHelp 9.  When a project  is upgraded to RH 11, the topics do not display correctly in the editing pane.  The files begin with a series of buttons with attached scripts, and, looking at the file in HTML view, we can see that the first script executes correctly, but the second one doesn't close, so the entire topic is treated as part of the script.  The two scripts begin and end correctly, but the first one begins with:</script><script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">While the second one begins with:</script><script type="text/javascript">//<![CDATA[//<script type="text/javascript">I don't want to make the entire script public here, but I'm happy to send it to anyone who thinks they can help.Any idease?The files have always worked perfectly until RH 11.

Hey all, I checked forums and have seen similar questions, but not exactly what we are looking for. We are using RoboHelp HTML v9 on XP and Win7 pcs. Is there a way to make new "Was this topic helpful?" buttons at the end of our topics automatically pass the RoboHelp page's Title and/or its URL into an Outlook email (as Subject or in the Email Body)?  Is there any variables that RoboHelp uses that can be passed to Outlook?  Thanks in advance for any information.P.S.- We currently do not use these "Was this topic helpful?" buttons.

I've worked with RH for a while, including creating other WebHelp projects in RH that have been deployed without any problem. On my current RH9 project, however, some of the CSS styles are not being applied after the project output is moved to a network directory. When I open the project output on my Desktop, the styles all render correctly. I have a published WebHelp site being hosted on SharePoint on the company intranet.  The goal is to publish a stand-alone version of the same project as an AirHelp application that can be easily accessed by having it pinned to the Windows 7 taskbar.  However, when the AirHelp App was published all of the topics lost their indentation at the left, such that they appeared as though the text started at the boundary separating the TOC from the actual topics.  In other words, there was no space buffer between the boundary and the text.  I consulted the Help Desk but they informed me that this was the difference in generated output.  The alternative was to create a duplicate project and re-format it so that the left margin was indented and looked appropriate in AirHelp.  I did that and it looks fine, but this raises a dilemma.  The help system is evolving, and so this would add to the amount of work if I had two duplicate projects that had to be updated eac

When I copy/paste text from a Word document into a RH10 file. The attributes from the Word document copy into the RH10 document. How do I just copy the plain text from Word without any attributes or styles?Thanks

Since installing Robohelp 11 all of my office 2007 programs have been crashing.  Outlook has crashed inserting an attachment and when opening a new email. Excel has crashed when opening a document using the open command on the menu and also while saving. Word and Publisher have also crashed at various points. Anyone else experiencing this problem or have a solution. I have Windows 7 Pro installed and Office 2007. I have confirmed that it is Robohelp 11 - all updates have been applied to windows and I backed out newly installed software until the problem stopped - problem stopped as soon as Robohelp 11 was uninstalled. I have also recreated the computer Profile, uninstalled Office 2007 and reinstalled.Any Ideas?Carole

Hi,Using RH10 with latest patches installed to fix IE10/11 issues. Genereated our merged webhelp and tested it using IE11. Noticed that the 'About Webhelp' dialog does not appear when I click it. It works correctly in IE10.Has anyone else seen this?Dominic.

Experts-I thought I found a solution to numbering sets in a topic, where the top-level step is numbering  1 after a heading. The test:Create a paragraph style for top-level steps (as in a procedural step). I called the style level_2 (sic). It's based on Normal, with a little indenting.Create a paragraph style for 2nd-level (sub) step. I called the style level_3 (sic). It's based on Normal, with a little indenting.Created a multilevel list style, called MLL_style_1Associate level 2 of the multilevel list style with paragraph style level_2.Associate level 3 of the multilevel list style with paragraph style level_3.Associate level 1 of the multilevel list style with Heading 1. The sole purpose of #6 above is to force the restart of the numbering of the Level_2 styles. This seems to work:HOWEVER, I've noticed a problem and a curiosity:Problem: I don't want any numbering to appear in front of Header 1 text. I generate a set of files used in my RoboHelp project.  Historically, this has never been a problem.  When I open RoboHelp, it recognizes the new links etc. defined in the project and makes them available to the TOC and other topics, as well as showing them in the topics window.To give an example, I might have something like this:<a name="options">File Options</a>...<a name="arguments">File Arguments</a>I then create links in the TOC to these references.  When I regenerate, nothing about this changes, except that I add (or remove) additional content, also referenced with name tags.In RoboHelp 9, when I reopened the project, the new topics were displayed in the topics list pod and generally available for use.Since I've updated to RoboHelp 10, however, it no longer automatically refreshes the available topic links.  I find the only way I can update them is to remove the topic, preserving the links (now broken) and copy back the generated file a

I'm using Robohelp 9 HTML and creating Webhelp as a final product. Is there any way to make the text wrap in the navigation pane? I've discovered how to size the navigation window and that works fine. This system will ultimatly be viewed on HMI screens in a food production facility. If the text can wrap it'll save lots of grief for the users. Thanks for any help!

Experts-HI. I'd like to see if there's a way to control the indentation of tables in a document by simply adjusting the margin-left value via a (Table?) style?I finding that table indentation is adjusted in a table's properties settings:<table class="AlternateBlueColorGrid" style="padding-left: 6.00pt; padding-top: 6.00pt;          padding-right: 6.00pt; padding-bottom: 6.00pt; margin-left: 40px;"          cellspacing="0" width="577">This is fine for adjusting a single table. But supposing I want to indent all tables in a document or, better, all tables of a certain style. There doesn't seem to be a way to make the indentation setting part of a table style to facilitate this action, at least not through the table settings dialog. I see that I can specify margins in a div style, but I can't seem to apply a div style to a table (or paragraphs for that matter. I need to read up on div styles.)Thanks in a

HiI've a few questions about style management:Is there a way to search for where a style is used in a project or topic?If so, is there a way to search-and-replace, ie, find where a style is used and replace it with another style?When deleting a style, is there a way RH can be set to display a warning if the style to be deleted is being used anywhere?FrameMaker handles the above use cases very well. When I generate & publish webhelp files on my desktop, and view the output, everything displays correctly. However, I sent a zip file of the webhelp files to the developer to publish, and when he generates the files (after linking the help call button in the application to the .htm file in the help project file root directory), each topic displays a "website cannot display the page" error, instead of the topic content. The TOC displays correctly for both of us. Any ideas of how to fix this or why this is happening? Or even a checklist of what I should ask the developer? Thanks!

I'm using RH10. When I generate a PDF I get extra lines preceeding the Heading on each page. How do I prevent this?

I'm wondering if anyone expects the maitenance of FM-sourced docs for the purpose of creating PDFs is becoming unnecessary as RH improves it's printed doc output. Thx.
