RoboHelp

Our map file is large and scrolling through the file to find a specific topic and its map number is inefficient and time consuming. Is there a way to search for a specific topic in the map file?  I tried using the search field to the left of the map file list, but that doesn't locate the topic in the map file list.   

I am running Robohelp version 2020.8.34. I ran Help > Check for Updates and it says "New Update Available" "Adobe RoboHelp Version 2020.8.0". That sounds like an older version than the one I am running. Can anyone explain this? Should I press "Update Now"? Jim

RH version 2020.8.34 I had created a glossary. It appeared as the last item in the table of contents. IThe glossary displayed as an item on the Contents panel. I was able to generate CHM and Frameless output with the glossary's inclusion in each one. Ultimately, the glossary properly displayed in each output. PROBLEM: Subsequently, I added two items to the glossary itself, and saved it. However, the changes were never reflected in the HTM version that appeared in the Contents panel. I tried several times to undo, and then redo, the changes. I even saved, closed, and reopened the project. To no avail, the changes simply were never reflected when viewing the entire Glossary via the Contents panel. ATTEMPTED SOLUTION: So, I decided to 'recreate' the glossary. Accordingly, I did the following: I exported the glossary as a GLO file.I deleted any references thereto in the output presets.I deleted the glossary from the table of contents.I then deleted the glossary the

I have established the necessary connections between RoboHelp and Bitbucket. I can commit and push files changed in RoboHelp - but only from the command line. When I try to commit and push from RoboHelp the program tells me that it has succeeded, but actually nothing has changed. What do I need to do in order to be able to commit and push from inside RoboHelp? It works as described below. "RH" refers to what I do in RoboHelp. "CMD" refers to what I do on the command line". Saved favorites are removed everytime I add new topics, generated and publish

Hello, everybody.We are using RoboHelp 2020 and generate Microsoft HTML help.The user start the chm help from a dialogue in our software.If he enter some search word and click List Topics the help hangs. If he kill the process (clicking the x in the window) the program crashes to.Any idea what might be wrong? RegardsTord 

Hallo,ich habe in meinem RH Projekt eine Word Dokument verknüpft.Ändere ich im Word Dokument etwas, wird in RH mit dem roten Pfeil korrekt angezeigt das es Abweichungen gibt.Klicke ich auf Sync, von Quelle zu Projektverschwindet kurz das verknüpfte Dokument und erscheint dann wieder mit einem grünen Pfeil.Der Inhalt hat sich nicht geändert.Die Hilfe sagt das Sync für die Aktualisierung ist.Was ist der Unterschied zu Themen erstellen / aktualisieren?Dabei wird manchmal ein neues Thema angelegt wenn ich in der Überschrift etwas geändert habe.Sicher liegt das Problem 30 cm vor dem Bildschirm 🙂

We are having an odd issue. I have converted a classic RH2019 (14.0.5.001) project to RH2020 (2020.8.34), and Mostly it looks okay, and we are hammering out style differences and such. But the big issue I am dealing with now is number list resets.Our number list style is Procedure. This is the HTML generated on a list reset:p class="Procedure" style="counter-set: p\\.procedure1 0;"The problem is that while the numbers are correct in RoboHelp and HTML output, when we output to PDF, the number lists never reset, making the entire document one long number list. Example:In RoboHelp and HTML:First topic1. Something2. Something elseSecond topic1. Something completely different2. Ni! When we publish to PDF:First topic:1. Something2. Something elseSecond Topic3. Hi everyone, I hope you can help me with this big problem. I want to make a Robohelp project linking a word file, which has different sections. Each of them is being identified with Heading 1 style. The question is: Is it possible to generate 1 topic for each section? instead 1 topic with the big word file?

We have a RoboHelp 2020 help project posted on our website. We have links to topics in the help project from other places on our website. For the URL in the link, we use the URL displayed in the address bar when the desired help topic is displayed, such as:http://hsv.ternion.com/Documentation/flames21.0/WebHelp/flames/index.htm#t=SAS%2FCreating_a_User.htm(Note that Creating_a_User.htm is in a folder named SAS.)This works. The correct topic is opened in our help project when the link is selected. However, the TOC of our help project is not expanding to the proper place (to the entry associated with SAS/Creating_a_User.htm). Instead, the TOC is opening to some random place not associated with the topic.Has anyone else experienced this issue, and do you know how to fix it?

RoboHelp 2020.7 WindowFrameless output with Orange skin/template. Received a request to add pagination to the top of search results. Orange skin/template only provides pagination at the bottom of search results. Looking to have pagination for both top and bottom of search results so end users don't have to scroll all the way back up or down, regardless of their current position on the page. Here are the pagination elements for the home page and topic page:   Is this possible?

Running RoboHelp 2020.7 Windows. Generating Frameless Output, with Orange template/skin. Our UX team would like the home page search results display format to mirror the topic page search results. By default, when running a search from the HOME page, search results are displayed in a FIXED BLOCK (for as long as you're on the home page) that is inserted above the home page content. For example:  Meanwhile, when running a search from a TOPIC page, search results are displayed in a DROP-DOWN from the search field/box. (Evaluating/QA'ing the RoboHelp 2022 update)Generarating Frameless output.I'd like to create a section in a topic very similar to this example from Nike.com, whereby each link in each of the six sections is a drop-down that contains an answer to the question:   Initially, I thought I might be able to create each of the 6 sections by creating 6 different microcontents (sort of like mini-FAQs). So using the image example above, I'd create a DISPATCH & DELIVERY microcontent with the corresponding intents and responses, and then a RETURNS microcontent with its intents/responses, etc., and then insert each of them in the topic (don't worry about the grid formatting - I can handle that aspect). I poked around and tried a few different things, but couldn't get this to work. I realize there are other ways to design/deliver this content, but microcontent (if it worked) seemed like it'd be the slickest/most efficient way because we expec

 We recently updated our RoboHelp software to the latest patch 2020.8.34. Since applying the patch when I generate the project, it is creating an additional file (csh-redirect.htm) that wasn't present prior to the patch update. We believe this file is causing us to not be able to view the contents in the publish. How do we prevent this file from generating? We may be wrong about what is causing it, so is anyone else having any issues?    These are the current setting in my project. The correct file (index.htm) is still there and the Start Page for the output is still set to that.    

In the Orange skin, can you resize and then center the TOC Tiles > toctiles section on the Home Page tab  of the Frameless output? I resized it to 75% but that left aligns the tiles. I want them to remain centered. Is there a way to do that? 

Hello! I am using Robohelp Classic 2019, into which I imported a Framemaker 2020 book. By default, most styles came out clean, but I did have to update some styles in RH. I was able to generate Resp HTML5 output from RH, and it looks clean in Chrome.  However, I would like to just generate the output in FM directly without having to use RH. So...question being, how can I output a CSS from RH that contains all the styling I require to generate clean output in FM? I notice that in RH there are 3 style sheets in use for each file(topic) in the project: RHsytlemapping.css, default.css, and [Filename].css (a unique css for each file of the book). I have selected the unique file to for each topic.  I created a ".sts" file in FM using the unique CSS...and some of the styles don't convert cleanly. Especially those with bullets and hanging tabs (like when text wraps to next line in numbered list...and doesn't line up). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,I am using 2 condition tag in my project to be able to filter the content once the documentation is generated. I did not find the option to have one of the condition tags selected by default, is it possible?Thanks in advance.

I have a couple of  RoboHelp projects and am currently using RoboHelp 11. My company is upgrading me to the current subscription version. Can I make this jump? Do I need to update the projects to another "classic" version first? It looks like the recommendation is to open the projects in 2015, 2017 or 2019 first. So do I need to purchase v2019 also?

Hello,Random question, does anyone know why we cannot add txt files to a project?  They appear greyed out in the file upload dialog box.  I can add them manually using the mac finder window so that is my workaround but i found it odd that I can't from the UI.

I have GIT for Windows installed and working on my machine. I usually use the GIT command prompt for all dat-to-day GIT operations.If I integrate RH 2020 with GIT, does RH work as an interface to GIT?Does GIT-RH2020 integration work well, if anyone has tried?
