RoboHelp

I have managed to successfully translate a RoboHelp project by exporting the files and importing them again.  I'm now attempting to link to the translated project from the next version of the English. It allows me to select the check box to link it and then select the rhpj file. However, when I click Done, RoboHelp goes blank and hangs.  I have tried several times and even left it for several hours but I can't get it to work.  I'm am linking to the rhpj of the translated project and not the English version which I assume is correct?  I'm using RoboHelp 2020.7.46  

Are you able to co-author 1 RoboHelp project among 3 people using Dropbox?  If not, what is the best program to use?

Hi! I have three RoboHelp 2020.8.34 projects. Each project contains hundreds of links to different libraries in SharePoint. The problem: the %3a symbol (:) is transformed into a %25a symbol when HTML and .aspx Output is created. For example, For some reason, RoboHelp is changing the %3a symbol reference in the URL to a %25a, which of course breaks the links. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hello, Is there a way to remove the header from an HTML5 output (RH2020)? The charchoal_grey skin works for what I need, except for the header, as the content will be embedded into another website. I tried to follow instructions on an older post (linked below) but the scss file appears to have been updated and the line numbers provided in the answer for that post are no longer applicable. https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/is-there-a-way-to-remove-the-header-desktop-completely/m-p/8091667

When I generate a Help file and choose any of the skin selections (I want to use Charcoal Gray), the resulting output always is the same. I get a bright cyan blue header with white text. I tried choosing New Frameless Skin > Dark to see if the output generated was different. It was not. Why do I get the same result? Please help.

Hi, Is there a way to get a complete html file out of robohelp, which includes even the styles?Because we need the output to implement it into another system (Atlassian Confluence), but the css styles and the pictures are not included there.References are not possible unfortunately.

RH 2019 was workng fine this morning.When I click C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 2019\RoboHelp.exe, it DOES launch but does not display on the monitor. If I check in Task Manager it says it's running. Also, if I toggle (alt+tab) I can see the launch page is there but cannot get it to display.NB - I downloaded 2020 earlier this year but don't use or have a license for. This is now trying to be the default app for RH. Have rebooted the PC with no success. Any ideas how to fix this?   

Hello,we would like to use the functionality in RoboHelp to include oder exclude content from the output depending on filter criteria. These criteria habe to be included in the URL when calling the help 'website'.So, first I create a tag (Is this really a contidional tag? Isn't it just a mark, as long as it isn't connected to a condition like 'if set, show/hide something?). Let's name it 'test-tag'. I put it into a group called 'mytags'.I the apply this tag to a block of content.And now?Do I have to set up a Dynamic Content Filter? I don't want the user to have to choose the filter.Do I have to set up a Condition Expression now? How would the output get to know what to do with the marked content (include/exclude)? If I do that (e.g. set 'exclude' for my tag), the content is always excluded - but I want to have it excluded only when the tag ist called via the URL. We wondered why an internal link (from one sub-page to the other) ended in not showing the 'frame' (navigation, header) but just the page content ('Frameless' output profile). We realized that RoboHelp adds a '?rh_skin=false' to the link which has this effect. Why that, how can we avoid that? Accessing the same page via the menu shows the normal page in it's 'frame'.

Hi,I already found some community articles regarding that issue, about two different paths and thumb.db.Nevertheless, I always get this error when I want to publish a word document. Are there some more ideas?Additionally, when I open the generated word file, it says that it is corrupted, and word need to repair the file. Whis is finished soon. But is it normal or do how can I find the problem in Robohelp which corrupts my file?Many thanks for your appreciated ideas.

Hi, i am looking for a solution how to color new/changed content in a topic during output in Robohelp.The idea would be to automatically find and color all new added content based on the creation date. For example in the output of next month, I would like to color all new/changed content that has been changed during this month. Process should be managable automatically.

I would like the formatting to be synonymous to the picture that you included above where the subtopic page I am on is in black text and the parent page of that subtopic is in blue text. This way the user knows that the parent page is a link that they can visit.I tried following @symmetricalMan's steps but was not having much luck... I was wondering if you have any advice 🙂Thanks!

Hi all, I updated to version 8 yesterday and published one of my sites to Sharepoint and since then the search is not working. It says no results were found.  However, when I open the same page locally (ot in sharepoint) then the search works. Can someone please help resolve this issue? This is the local version (when I open "index.htm")  

I recently converted a Robohelp 2019 project with an index, to Robohelp 2020. The index shows in the "Author" tab, however it does not show in the Responsive HTML5 output when I generate it. I followed the instructions to check "Include Index," however the index tab is empty in the compiled output. 

Just when I got everything to work with 2 condition tags (thanks for a previous post), I've added a third and thus confused the heck out of myself. I'm using RH 2020.7.46. Content is tagged for US or Canada, and Online or Print - this part works fine. Now I'm trying to exclude content for specific guides so I added another tag that indicates content that should NOT appear in that guide. I created a new condition expression to exclude the newly tagged content. But it doesn't work.If I exclude/and  all conditions, the guide-tagged content does not appear (correct) but the online stuff does appear (not desired).If I include/and the new condition, the unwanted content appears but the online stuff does not (correct).  If I include/or the new condition, everything appears (really not correct).Ditto with exclude/or. I used to be so good at logic puzzles but this stuff has me baffled. RoboHelp 2020.7.46, Frameless output, Studio skinHere's the short description: In my recent frameless output, I noticed that there is a \downloads subfolder that seems to contain a copy of my project's contents. Where did that come from and why is it there? More details: I have one project and generate two sets of output files from it; one is a small subset of the other. In the smaller project, my output contains an \assets folder with two subfolders, \css and \images. In the larger project, the \assets folder contains these subfolders, but it also contains another subfolder called \downloads. Under \downloads, there's a \contents subfolder and then more subfolders that seem to be copies of my topics plus an \assets subfolder with all the images, css, masterpages, etc. I hope the attached images illustrate this well enough. I looked at some earlier backups and I don't see a \downloads subfolder in the output. Why am I now getting all these files that would seem to be ext

I use a content-level condition tag in every topic that certain info is for online only. Works perfectionly except in 2 topics where the topic itself is tagged (as US-only). In those 2 topics, the online content is appearing even though I am using a condition expression for Print/US-only.  Must I choose between topic-level and content-level conditions, or is there a way to use both? 

I am using Frameless studio skin. I need a dropdown list in topic page header to show various versions of documents instead of a simple link in header(header link). Is there any way to add dropdown list in topic page header?

I have a question about the settings for loading FrameMaker documents into RoboHelp.The HTML file name when set to Split into topics using marker is different between the past version and the current version.In previous RoboHelp, the HTML filename was the name you entered in FrameMaker's marker.In RoboHelp 2020, it will be replaced with the contents set in Topic Name Pattern.I am in trouble because I cannot specify the file name set here. How can I give it an arbitrary file name that is different from the title and number?

I and my team are new to RoboHelp Server, as in we just got it loaded. I'm set up as an admin and I'm trying to add my writers as users but am having difficulty finding instructions on setting permissions. Yes, I can add them to a new group, but where do I add the permissions for that group? In addition, I'm wondering on best practices. We have about 5 separate help files for 5 different applications. Do I create 5 areas or 5 contexts? Or do I just put them all in "general"? One of them most certainly will be in its own context as it is large and will require merging. The others are small and self-contained in one project each. My IT guy wants to keep them all in the one context (except for that one large one that needs merging). I just have so many questions. The help files and pdfs from Adobe only barely touch on these things. Any help or pointing to other sources, would be appreciated! Thanks! Hi,Maybe someone can help me out please.I'm trying to create a hyperlink and link a bookmark to it inside the same page. I created the bookmarks, however they are not showing up in the list and neighter when I search for the ID.There is 2 other bookmark which was already on the page and they showing up just fine. I cannot see any difference between the bookmarks I created and which where already there. 

Hello! I've recently upgraded to RoboHelp 2020 from the 2019 version, and have run into a bit of an issue with importing Word documents. In RH 2019, I could easily either select an existing style corresponding to each Word style, or select "Discard Style" for when there wasn't any that fit but I didn't want to import as a style of its own. This way, I could import hundreds of word documents without ever having more than the initial "default.css" stylesheet. In RH 2020, however, it looks like they've removed the "Discard Style" option in the Word doc import menu. Even when I make sure my imported Word doc has only a single style applied to everything and select a corresponding style during import, it still creates a separate stylesheet. (e.g. Word document "Imported Document" has the "Normal" paragraph style applied to all text. During import, I select style "p" for the single paragraph and character word styles. The imported topic is created, along with "Imported_Document.css

Hello lovely people! I upgraded a large, snippet-rich project created in RH 2017 to RH 2020, all updated and patched.My snippets now have dozens of added tags, as shown in the capture below. What are these weird entities? Will my project disintegrate if I delete them? They are incredibly annoying and deserve deletion.Thank you for any light you can shine on this mysterious issue 🙂 

I've made some custom templates by both writing my directly into CSS, and copying and editing styles that already exist, and I can't see any of them in the Template list under table options. Is that a bug or expected? Right now the only way to assign those table templates is to go into the HTML and add the class myself, which gets old after a bit.
