RoboHelp

I am importing a FM (16.0.3.979) book into RH (2020.7.46), publishing with a custom skin using the Frameless output preset. Everything is looking pretty good with one exception: in my topic pages, any text tagged with an index marker in FM is a light gray in the final product.  I can't find a setting which controls this behavior so I can fix it.

I'm currently on my second evaluation of RoboHelp 2019 (new interface)-- I checked it out when it first came out, and it was missing so much functionality that it simply wasn't usable for my team. Things are definitely headed in the right direction, but I'm still stumbling over some curious issues. This particular one is a deal-breaker if I can't get it sorted.In previous versions, when I created a PDF, it could be built exactly according to the project TOC, thanks largely to the functionality on the second page of the layout properties window, where I could control the chapter layout. This meant that I was able to have topics at various levels, and to include TOC book titles as headings where appropriate. In version 2019, this ability seems to have disappeared. The PDF ends up being a flat list of topics. While they're in the order dictated by the TOC, they're all at the top level. This renders the output essentially useless as a user's guide.Am I missing anything here? If not, looks

Hello,         My supervisor has given me one RoboHelp file. I got it from the download section. I cut and paste it inside the one-drive, document folder. RoboHelp project files were there. I pasted it there. I try to select the output folder, but it denied selection and showed failed word output generation. Note; I am using RoboHelp 2020 version 7. 46 and word 365 version.Thanks.

Hi..When i create link in my computer I: drive and hyperlink all the content it works fine. But when i send it to sponsor who do not have access to my I: drive they are not able to open the Link.  

I am new to Robo Help and attempting to use the Robo Help publish function to place my files on a server to test.  Several of the projects I am working with were created prior to Robo Help 2019.  I have updated with no issues but when I go to publish I can't find any preexisting publish profiles.  Does that mean that prior the files were probably copied to the correct location and not published?  Also, to my understanding Generate is used to test locally and Publish is used to deploy the files.  Is that understanding correct?  Lastly when Help is called does Robo Help add any additional parameters to the pathname that are displayed in the URL?  I have read the Publish section in the User's Manual but if anyone has addtional references to suggest, please do so. Thanks

I use a "story" structure where only the first topic is in the TOC and the following topics can be browsed with a "Next" button. Now I noticed that I cannot link an index term to a topic that is further down the line. Even though the topic is in the output and all links wirk perfectly, it will simply not be displayed in the index. However, if I add the topic to the TOC, then the index term is displayed. Is this observation correct, and if so, is this regarded a bug or a "feature"? Robert

Hello,            I have created one document, that consists of some pages, I want to import all the word pages and output in pdf, word, and HTML format. But after giving all the settings on output preset. it didn't show in the output file. However, when I type a new topic on the authoring pane, I can view it as an output file. So, how to import the word file and convert it into a suitable output preset? Thanks. 

Any suggestions as to methods to make screen shots used as images in Robo Help 2019 appear more professional and consistent?  I only have access to basic graphic tools (Paint and other defaults supplied by Microsoft). I have been capturing the screen shots then importing them into Paint.  Any pointers would be appreciated. thank you

I have upgraded my projects to RoboHelp 2020.7 and plan to use the Frameless layout with a customized Studio skin (let's call it Studio-custom). In the Mini TOC, is there a way to change the bullet that's used to mark the current heading? In the attached screen shot, you can see that the bullet is a dark blue. I assume this is coming from the Theme Color for the skin (#00477B in our case). Is there a way to make that bullet a different color without changing the overall theme color (to use an accent color, for example)? Is there a way to use a different indicator altogether? In the skin settings (Topic Page > Mini TOC), I see something called selected-pointer which seems to be the bullet, but I don't see a way to change the color or the character. (Changing the Font Color for it had no effect in the output.) I see that there's a file called dot.svg in the /publish/skins/Studio-custom subfolder but it looks black, so I'm guessing that RH applies the theme color to that

Hi all, running Robohelp 11 on a virtual machine, which ports must be free, that the license check is working? Or is only normal internet access neccassary that this is working? best regards 

RH 2020.7.46, Frameless layout, customized Studio skin Is it possible to create your own home page to replace the Studio skin home page? I see two options in the layout settings:Select "Use skin home page" on the Layout tab. This gives you a series of tiles for the top-level heads, plus a prominent search box, background photo, etc. See the attached Studio_skin_home_page.png file for an example (I had to make it super-generic so I don't reveal too much 🙂 ).Deselect "Use skin home page". In this case, the help will open on the first topic in your table of contents. This option gives you the usual structure of a topic page with the left and right panels, and the search icon in the header. Good afternoon,  I am facing a problem with using Rohelp at my organisation. Maybe you could help me. We are using Robohelp 2019 (together with Smart SVN, but I don't think this is relevant).  Yearly we make a new project by copy paste the project of the previous year and change the dates in the relevant files. This time some issues came up. We had problems with the variables. That problem is fixed eventualy by someone at Adobe. But now the styling seem to dissapear when I generate an output. The CSS files are coming with, but there is a lot missing in the htmlcode of the topics (in the output file) (see the attached images). Someone at our ict-department said to me that there service is looking for <div class="topiccontent"> within the html tag and using that part. And that part is now missing, so the topics are not showing at their end.  Where can I add this in the outputscript or somewhere else? I cannot put it manually in each topic, because

My colleagues and I are currently using RoboHelp 2017, version 13.0.0.257, on-premise. We are not yet in a cloud-based environment. We are using version control with SharePoint. Is it at all possible to upgrade to the latest version of RoboHelp? What do we need to have in place in order to upgrade once we do move to cloud-based services? How are version control files maintained?

Hello All, We used to work in 2019 Classic with 1 parent and 32 child projects. We had the following (bold information) redirect housed in the parent:The redirect is housed in this topic.It is in the <head></head> and points to /mergedProjects/Welcome/Welcome_1.htm My question is, is the redirect necessary in RH2020? I upgraded all our information to RH2020, when I did a test publish, it seems as if I get stuck on the Welcome page. Any process I select flashes the redirect code (from above) before showing the Welcome page again?

We have installed Robohelp 11 on a Windows 10 desktop and need it for a legacy system. The desktop is now to be virtualised. How can I ensure that the Robohelp 11 licence will continue to work after virtualisation?Thanks for your help 🙂

Dear community, we are a software company in the Netherlands. Currently we are using Adobe Robohelp 11. We would like to convert our data to Robohelp 19 (and eventually 2020). Our IT specialists have tried to convert the data, unfortunately with no success. My collages tried different ways to contact Adobe Robohelp, unfortunately we didn’t receive an answer yet. We would like to get some help, do you know who we should contact?

Hello,           I am using adobe robohelp 2020.7.46 version. I have written something and tried to see the output preset eye icon how looks. But it shows me a blank file however I have typed smt and saved it. Again, when I tried to generate the word output preset whatever I have written on RoboHelp, it gives me a blank file. tell me why this happened?

I copied some texts from word and wrote some text on RoboHelp. However, the size drastically changes. I wanted to select all the content and resize it to one font size. But, unable to find any particular option to do that.

Hi all - We are currently using RoboHelp HTML 7.0When I publish, frames cannot be viewed when using Chrome, although they are just fine when using IE or Firefox. This is the publically shared URL for accessing this file - http://responsibility.motorola.com/web_help/index.htmI've been told by co-workers this is not a version issue, it does not work for higher versions of RoboHelp either. Does anyone know the accuracy of this statement? Hello RHers,I've been tasked with updating an old version or Robohelp (not sure of the previous version) with RH2020. I can open the project and click through all the topics in the TOC, but when I try to generate Printed Documentation I get a progress bar with the message "Calculating Topics List..." No matter how long I wait, the message does not change. I got an error message when I tried to generate a PDF that said I needed to install Java. Now that I've installed Java, I get the same behavior for PDF and Printed Documentation. I have a suspicion that the issue has something to do with version incompatibility. I've tried adjusting most of the output settings with no result. My only idea is to harvest the help topics from the existing project and put them into a new project, but there are many hundreds of help topics. Any ideas on troubleshooting this issue?
