Hello, everybody! Here's a strange situation: When I insert text boxes or click boxes, they appear in position. When I preview or publish the file, though, they are shifted down a fixed amount (not sure what that is, but it is the same for all controls). Have any of you heard of this or had it happen to you? Better yet, have you figured it out? I'd appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks!

OK, I give up! I have tried most everything and am just not finding the correct solution. I am trying to load and run an ASP script from a Flash Document and it just wont run? My code is: “loadVariables("SendCode.asp",0,"GET");” The ASP script works as written as I ran it directly from a browser. It seems as if the loadVariables command is where my problem lies but I can’t figure it out. Stepping through the code in debug mode produces no errors what-so-ever? Help please!

Hello, I have this code for a .mp3 player and I really need it modified slightly. The tracks play thought just fine but id like tracks to loop after they have finished playing instead of moving onto the next track in the playlist. I have small sound files which make nice ambient music when looped. To get to a new song you would click the next or prev buttons still ;) Please take a look at the code and hopefully someone knows how to modifiy it.

Greetings, all. I apologize in advance if this is the lamest question ever posted here, but I'm having a terrible time with it. Here's the deal: I have a Flash presentation document (slides). The first set of slides are an index to a video that is displayed later. In the index slides, I have a series of gotoSlide and gotoAndStop operations launched from button symbols. I'd like to put the code on the timeline (instead of on the button symbol objects). So, the first frame of a slide has the following code, where L1-1_button is one instance of a button symbol: L1-1_btn.onRelease = function() { gotoAndStop(2); } When I launch the movie, the output window displays the following error: **Error** Screen=lecture1, layer=actions, frame=1:Line 3: Syntax error. L1-1_btn.onRelease = function() { Why? What's the syntax error? Any help is greatily appreciated. This is making me crazy!

I've got a menu I'm programing, but I am starting to forsee it being a lot of code.. Is there a way to cut down this code specifically? I've got it so that the alpha level of a button goes down to 60 onRollOver and the alpha goes back to 100 onRollOut. Is there a better way to do this? Here is my code: calendar.onRollOver = function() { calendar._alpha = 60; } calendar.onRollOut = function() { calendar._alpha = 100; } programs.onRollOver = function() { programs._alpha = 60; } programs.onRollOut = function() { programs._alpha = 100; } media.onRollOver = function() { media._alpha = 60; } media.onRollOut = function() { media._alpha = 100; } bios.onRollOver = function() { bios._alpha = 60; } bios.onRollOut = function() { bios._alpha = 100; } serving.onRollOver = function() { serving._alpha = 60; } serving.onRollOut = function() { serving._alpha = 100; }

ColdFusion MX 7.0.2 standard with SunONE Web Server 6.1 on RH Linux ES 3 I can't find the right documentation that explains how to multihome CF7 with SunONE Web Server 6.1 (no longer iPlanet - those instructions are outdated for this product!!) Docs found at http://livedocs.macromedia.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=ColdFusion_Documentation&file=00001757.htm do not work for me. The CF7 admin gui works fine and the true web server home page will render cfm just fine. When visiting a CF page on one of the virtual hosts, I see the source code rather than the rendered page. What do I need to do to configure the multihoming? Thanks! Aaron (gripe) One would think that the documentation for a compatible web server would actually work and not have to contact tech support for $$$ (/gripe)

Hello, I installed FMS 2.0 develper version on a RedHat 3.0 and cannot initialize the server corerctly, when starting it using 'fmsmgr server fms start' or '/etc/init.d/fms start' the only process created is 'fmsadmin -console -conf ./conf/Server.xml' there is no sign of fmsedge, fmscore or fmsadmin therefore there is no listener on port 1935. The result is I can connect to the console but cannot initialize any applications for streaming or logging through the console. I've tried different user ownerships and port numbers and nothing has worked. I'm pretty certain there is no firewall active in the server and no other process is listening on 1935. I can't think of anything else to try, any pointers? Thanks!

I work for a university and have a web app that needs to check the campus directory server daily to see if the users access my system have changed department codes or have left the university. Our ldap administrator is informing me that my connections to the server look similar to a DOS attack like so: open open open search search search close close close resulting in the server dropping my connections after the first few results. I'd either like to reuse my initial connection or close any open existing connections before continuing with my loop (there's about 2000 users total), but am not quite sure how to do this. Simplified code is attached, any suggestions? Thanks, Vince

Hello, I'm searching a way for clearing text entry box after the user entered a wrong answer. If this it's not possible to do that with text entry, is it possible to do that with captivate question quiz, or somthing else? Thank you Miky Aviel

I am real new to Flash. I have been working on a site http://d9wc.com on of many problems I am currently having difficulty in figuring out is - when you click on a button you can send it to a particular frame number (for this instance frame 99. I want it to play 99 through159. I then want it to play frame 160. The problem is that I have 4 additional buttons I also want to play those same frames 99 through 159, but then jump to 161, 162, 163 or 164. There is probably and easy way to do this but I am stuck. to see what I am tring to do got to http://d9wc.com/servicetest.html then click on special wallcoverings you will see the menu move over to the left and then expand out sub menu Items. What I want is when they click on another item not in the sub menu for everything to repack and go back to original place then the info appear below. I am sure that my file organization method is all messed up, but it is working so far. And Like I said I am new to flash (This is my first project) so a

I done some searching and can only find people wanted to remove sound. I can't hear my audio (I checked the mute speaker) I created a captivate. Several days later my 'voice' person recorded some audio I've added that audio. When I click play I hear it and when I hit preview for just the one slide I hear it. If I preview more than one slide or even publish the entire movie I have no audio - BUT I'm still hearing the typing and clicks so I know there is sound somewhere. Any suggestions? Did I maybe record my initial movie in the wrong mode? How can you see what mode you recorded in? Thanks, Tracy

I'm creating an application where a person can post an event with listings for up to 20 days from filling in the form. I'm saving these dates (one to twenty individual units, using a 20060810-type code, separated by a delimiter) in a single field. I am trying to figure out how I can construct an efficient query to find a range within a set of date codes that answers the question "what is happening between 8/1 and 8/6" for example. I know how to find things by the day, of course. Is this possible?

Hello, I can't seem to figure out why the below code does not work. I'm just trying to create an array from a cfquery. The code does not give any errors. but the alerts are not working. If I view the source of the browser page I can see the array has the right information in it from the db. Why aren't the alerts popping up? Thanks. Shawn Cowman

We have a Cold Fusion Web Site on our Windows 2000 Server that we host. We have some clients that have a proxy server that have to disable caching for the Web site to allow Users to log in properly. More specifically, if a client has 2 User Id's, they can log in with the 1st id fine and place an order then Log out. When they log in with there 2nd ID they see the 1st User Id Information , customer name, order, etc... The only way around this is if we have the client disable caching for the web site on their server. Then, it works fine. Is there an alternative approach to a solution? As this is cumbersome to relay this to the IT department for them to access the site properly. I am using Session variables to control to login and the shopping cart and am destroying the sessions during the logout process. I have also set all pages to no-cache, but this has not helped. Maybe there is a setting in the Cold Fusion Administrator that I need to set on our server... Thank you in advance for

Would you kindly confirm the impact I think using our new .Net software will have on our RHX5 WebHelp project for Fall? I've spent the day reading forum info, and have a list of white papers to read, but I'd like to know the probable overhead. Following is a description of our relatively simple (large) Help project, our teams, and the impact I think will occur to all. It may be more detail than is needed, but I don't want to skip something that may be needed for an answer. Our project contains 6 imported Word docs and 10 baggage file PDFs. All docs are deleted and reimported when they are updated. We plan two Help changes for Fall: 1) use RoboEngine, and 2) create/merge 6 Help projects, in order to have both global and individual indexes. No context sensitivity - Help will still open to the start.htm page, which is the typical 3-paned Help. Three teams are affected by Help: 1) Dev puts the Help folder into the application build, and creates a call to start.htm when the user clicks

Hello everybody, I have a Web site make entirely with flash MX. My Web site contains several button, when I click one button a drop-down menu container of other button appears. (A animation make this). My problem is : I can't click on a button already clicked (to remake to unroll the menu) unless I click on another button. In this case the first button becomes click again but the second is not it any more. Approximately, I believe that my animation do not play any more because it is already in execution. Can you help me. Thank you Michel Langlais

ok. this is a pretty long chunk of code. it's x10 basic math but can't figure how to simplify into shorter syntax.

How would I go about having a navigation pop-up menu to reflect changes dynamically from an external file provided by a client? For instance, the left nav bar includes 5 links to other pages and each nav button expands to display sub-menus to the other links within. The links change on a weekly basis, and I am assuming there would be a way my client can upload a file and the links would be updated automatically, also having the nav bar sub contents update as well. Would this be possible, and how? Any other recommendations for doing something like this would be greatly appreciated. example: "reference" part of menu would expand to display links for "Florida State info", "Delaware State Info", California State Info", and "Tutorial". Help me, please!

I don't have a print button available when I go into the help menu. Adobe asked me to re-install, but it is still missing. Has anyone else encountered this ? Thanks for any help.

Hello I've been trying to call a stored proceedure from coldfusion, but EVERY time, there has been an error: "The system has attempted to use an undefined value, which usually indicates a programming error, either in your code or some system code. Null Pointers are another name for undefined values. Here is my code for the stored proc:

I've tried several of the coding changes referred to in this forum. Most instructions say to make the changes in the topic's .html file. Well, I did that and, when I didn't compile Robohelp, it worked. But if I compile the SSLs, the code reverts back to the previous code and my changes are gone....what am I doing wrong? In Captivate, there is a file called "standard.htm" that can be modified once and, when the movies are re-published, this file replaces the old. Is there such a file in Robohelp? Thanks Pam

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me understand the right way to do this. Basically I have some programmatically attached movie clips which are attached in a loop, so the only way I can reference their Instance names is through using a variable. I want to do this so that I can attach a createTextField to each clip instead of _root which is what I do now For example I'm tring to do this: for (i=0;i<5;i++){ clip2 = _root.attachMovie("A","A"+i,{_x:coordx,_y:coordy}); Variable-which-is-named-("A"+i)-here.createTextField("_text"+i,depth,coordx+5,coordy+5,40,30); } I hope that makes sense? If anyone can point me in the right direction I'm not having luck with google searches Best Regards, Tom

hi. i am using the alert component. when viewing locally, everythign is fine, however, when publishing and uploading, the alert box contains no text.... it seems similar to a dynamic text field with no embedded text problem. cant figure it out... has anyone experienced this?
