Hi everyone, I'm just a novice texture artist and recently I wanted to try to make a simple enough wallpaper texture, but when I got to the moment when I needed to put these shells on top of each other like in the photo, I couldn't do it. I've been digging into Time Sampler for a long time, but I haven't found any settings that could do this. I also searched on the Internet but also did not find it. Could you help to make this effect? I also tried to select individual rows of shells to move them, but nothing worked for me.Thank you in advance!
I have tried installing/uninstalling but to no avail. It only appears again when I install 13 and below.Any help?
I often need to save 8 bit tga for a game and 16/32 bit pngs for archiving and using as input for other materials . Would be really nice to have it Designer .
It would be great if we could specify colors for referenced graph nodes from other graphs in the current graph in Substance Designer. Currently, referenced graphs are displayed in the same red color (#a21318) as default nodes, which is not very intuitive. While allowing users to customize the color would be ideal, if it disrupts the consistency of the user experience, it would be better to represent them with a distinct fixed color instead. For example, a highly saturated red color like #f01c24, similar to the bright green (#86f047) used for sbsar nodes.
Hi, I was wondering what would be the best way to recreate this kind of texture? Thanks

Hi everyone.I'm trying to make an effect and I can't get the outer borders of several lines to create a blur effect taking into account the direction of the line. With the directional blur or directional distance nodes I can apply a blur but with a global direction. Is there a way to make each of the segments have a blur based on its own tangent? Thanks
We had so much to share that we decided to jump in early with the Community Digest for February 2025. This month: Anna Koroleva adds a touch of eerie atmosphere in Substance 3D Assets, a look at the advantages for motion design provided by native 3D integration in After Effects, a whole caboodle of 3D educational resources, and more. And away we goooo! Featured Artist Beyond the Event Horizon: a collection of 3D materials by Anna Koroleva Our Featured Artist this month is freelance 3D environment/material artist Anna Koroleva. The Substance 3D Assets library is once again adding Signature Collections by guest artists to its impressive library of resources. For the first such collection of 2025, Anna Koroleva has created Beyond the Event Horizon, a series of sci-fi-themed materials that are at once natural and organic yet architectural, non-organic matter that feels like it can grow and evolve, as well as deck plating and bulkhead materials that no derelict sp
focusGraphNode() is only focusing on SDNodes, can you please extend the functionality to focus on any graph object (i.e frame, pin, comment etc.)?

So I have to hit Ctrl+B 3-4 times or even re-load the graph before certain texture is exported . Especially ones having alpha. Does anyone know what might be a reason?
I need to make a following thing in substance designer - let's say I have an image with four areas overlapping each other Red, Purple, Blue and Yellow for example. Is it possible to compare all neighbouring colors in the image and draw a Black border line between Red and Yellow neighbouring colors, and to draw a Green border line between Blue and Purple colors? Something like this:
One year later, same problem. I tried to renew my Free Substance 3D for Students and Teachers License by submitting a new request for an e-mail with my Adobe ID. But this mail was never received and no, it isn't in my spam folder. I can't resend the mail, because I now get the error: "UniqueID already exists" in the forms input field. I tried my secondary e-mail address, but that didn't work either. Why is this still not fixed and how can I renew the license anyway?
When adding a tilt to my tiles using the Flood Fill To Gradient node or a simple gradient, strange artifacts appear in my material. I've tested other versions of Substance Designer, adjusted the Flood Fill settings, made changes to my material, and still haven't found a solution. It's a bit frustrating to reach this point and not be able to continue because this error always appears. I would really appreciate any advice you can give me.
Hi Substance team!Loving the new Substance Designer 14.1 update! One feature that I was really excited about was the alignment tools, but I find them a little bit hard to use right now. I am often selecting the bunch of nodes I want to align, hovering over those new icons and see which one I need to pick, click it and then repeat. It would be much better to have them appear in the Shortcuts panel to assign our own shortcuts to them.Personally, as someone who is working in Unreal, I am used to the Shift+WASD for the alignment of nodes and think that if it doesn't clash with any of the current keyboard shortcuts, this could be a good default keyboard shortcut for it. But the option to change them should still be there.I'm sure anyone working in Designer would agree with this!Thank you!
Hi! Im having dificulties creating a tiling material. Yesterday I've updated to the latest version of SD and it seems its broken things along the way.- In tile samplers/ generators i now have to change Texture sampling to Bilinear as to not leave edges around. (see imgs)- It gets more difficult with other nodes though where i cant change the texture sampling. Eg.: Edge bleed with Blur HQ. (see img) Could it be related to SDs Mip maps? Thanks for the help!A)B)
The new year brings some epoch-making news for the Substance 3D ecosystem, as well as some grade-A community news, and a featured artist doing some truly tasty work in Designer. Let’s go! Substance News Unmetered access to Substance 3D Assets! HUGE news this time around. As of this week, we’re launching unmetered access to the complete Substance 3D Assets library for Adobe Substance 3D Subscribers. That means that if you’re a subscriber on a Collection or Texturing plan you now have access to the full collection of almost 20,000 professional materials, models and lighting environments without managing points. Yes, you heard that correctly. Head over to our post about this on the Adobe blog to learn more, or simply make your way over to Substance 3D Assets right now to start using the library immediately. Does anyone know what identifier goes on IMAGE INPUT node for normals to be recognized instantly inside SBS Painter once you bake your maps?Inside Painter, I have managed to properly "link" the baked maps to the material I made inside designer, so once I do my bakes inside painter the maps automatically adds to their respective maps inputs of my material but thats not the case for the baked normals mapThough I can manually add the map, is kind of tedious to add it every single time I add the material so would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows the proper identifier for baked normals map.
It would be really useful if there was an 'export all graphs' or 'export selected graphs' option. If I have a substance file with a bunch of graphs that I need to batch export, I'd like to select them all and do export selected, or something similar. I don't see any way of doing this and you need to run through them all one by one exporting, as it currently stands.
When exporting textures the export window stays open afterwards, and the program will not take any more inputs until it is manually closed. I do not see the point, it's just an extra bunch of clicking for no reason. Can we have an option to make the window disappear after you've exported and you can carry on. This might not seem like a big deal but with no option to batch export graphs you find yourself having to constantly close the window and it's just redundant clicking.
At the moment if you have let's say 3 texture nodes and you want to set a common property, such as, 'relative to parent' for example, you need to click the texture, change the properties, go to the next texture, click it, change the properties, etc...As they ALL share this common property why can't we just select all 3 nodes and change it once and have it apply to all of them? This applies for just about anything in the properties panel, this would be a great feature in my opinion, color/grayscale etc, etc.
I see dds is a file format substance could quickly export and import .. Much quicker than any other file type. What picture browser could show them ? Not Adobe bridge it sseems? A sort of addon to Windows maybe?
Hi! I'm working on a substance graph. All of a sudden, my node bar or node palette (whatever the name is) is missing from the window. A.PNG is the current toolbar and B is the original toolbar. How can I bring back all the node icons to the toolbar? Thank you in advance!
