Substance Painter 3d on steam, what type of licence is there? Indie ? Pro?I'm buying a perpetual "Indie License" for "Revenue under $100K".? There is no information about license type. I was trying to get answer on adobe support chat, but there was no clear information about this... Help 🙂 RegardsChris
When working on this Sandbag and using the Stitches Tools inside of Substance, I am getting this low resolution blurry and distorted result. How can I increase the Reoslution and ensure the Stitches appear clean and crisp?I baked with 4k and 8x8 AA.What am I missing here? Thanks for any hint!
When I preview a mask in SP by alt clicking the mask in layer, I see perfect mask. But when I export this by right clicking the layer mask I get seams. Are there any options to control the padding or such? Not sure if that is the issue though.
I have several multi-UDIM model I am working on and I need to export grayscale layer masks from Substance Painter to Unreal/ You know, to get ability to change color in Unreal based on the mask and such. So, if I right click a layer and "export mask" this will export the masks in UDIM format, but the resulting bitmaps are indexed color, not grayscale. And this is problem. This will not work in Unreal, as I am getting "Warning: Mismatched UDIM image formats" if I try to load them to UE.I have tried manually to convert the maps to grayscale and this works, but obviously hand converting each map after export will destroy the workflow.Any recommendation?
Hi, I was trying to install the addon in Blender via the standard way (install the .zip file) However, it went this way. Pic1: So, I pointed the install to the .zip file.Pic2: It installed it as the dialog states.Pic3 Nothing refreshed in the prefrerences, and the addon did not seem to install since pressing N does not make it show.Any suggestions? Thank you.
Hello Everyone.I've been trying to fix these artifacts for a long time but didn't succeed so maybe you could help me with that. Basically, I've created some objects in Blender, both low and high poly:Low: High: I've marked seams on hard edges and unwrapped the low poly:Then I exported both models to SP. I've been using these settings for baking: Once the baking was done, these lines on the edges appeared: However, if I zoom out, these lines become less visible:Even though they are not really visible from a distance, I still want to fix these artifacts, if it is possible of course. Then I duplicated the low poly three times and made some adjustments to the new objects:They are separate objects with suffixes _low and _high on all eight of them. Here are the uvs: However, once the baking was done, these lines have become more visible on the edges: I've been looking through the forums searching for an answer to my problem, I've tried everything
Hello!I was wondering if someone could take a look and see if they could help me figure out an issue I have with substance... I've imported this mesh from blender with unwrapped uvs and seperate materials. However parts of the mesh disappear when moving the camera. Here is a photo to illustrate. Look at the buttstock, as it is the most obvious example.Moving the camera will make that missing part rotate on the closest side to the camera.
Just bought a year of access to creative cloud with Substance being an important factor of that purchase. Apparantly I'm only able to download the trial version of the app
I emailed allegorithmic about this and how they will get back to me. but nothing worse than getting subbed again despite canceling your sub. this is getting confusing and frankly making me less likely to resub in the future if you can't get your act together. hopefully I can get reimbursed for the sub I was put on for sept and get canceled. Not particularly happy how things are going.
The "Getting Started with Substance 3D Painter" tutorials a re great. I have a question about the shelves seen in the tutorial. The tutorial reference materials that are not in the Substance Painter install. For exapmle, the MatFx HBAO is not in Substance Painter by default. There are other shelves in the tutorial that are not in Painter by default, either. Question, are the shelves used in the tutorial a seperate purchase? Sean
Hi to everyone,I have a question: if I put 2 texture sets in the same tile, when I export it, Substance create 2 or more different files for each texture set, like "Mesh_texture set_BaseColor.1001_2. Obviously I need to merge them manually later. There is a way to do it automatically? Like this:Tanks to everyone for any answers.
I followed the document and copied the code verbatum:https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/spdoc/creating-a-python-plugin-197427756.html#section5When I run the scrypt I get this error:[Python] resource://allegorithmic/PBR Metallic Roughness[Python] Traceback (most recent call last):[Python] File "C:/Users/chasmll/Documents/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Painter/python\plugins\custom_export.py", line 55, in export_textures[Python] substance_painter.export.export_project_textures( config )[Python] File "C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Painter/resources/python/modules\substance_painter\export.py", line 195, in export_project_textures[Python] *_substance_painter.export.export_project_textures(json.dumps(json_config)))[Python] ValueError[Python] :[Python] For exportList item #0, the preset "resource://allegorithmic/PBR Metallic Roughness" is undefinedI have the most current version of substance painter, is this document out dated?
So having an issue with Substance Painter 3D and my Wacom Cintiq 22HD. Current drivers and have followed the Substance setup for Windows Ink. Here's the issue. I can either toggle off Windows Ink and I am able to use the MMB to pan around the camera, but I lose pen pressure for my brush. Or I can toggle on Windows Ink and I get back the pen pressure, but lose the ability to use MMB for panning on the pen. Workaround is that I keep Windows Ink on and just use my mouse to MMB pan the camera, but this is obviously not ideal and slows down my work. There used to be a workaround in Photoshop for this kind of thing in the past using Wintab, but that has since been fixed in Photoshop 2022 so didn't know if there was a similar workaround with Substance 3D Painter.
Hello all, I've struggling with complex materials such as plastic painted with metallic paint(with granules of metall), blued steel, parkerized iron, black iron, casted iron, blacked metalls. Overheated metalls. I think this kind of materials should have values in between of 0 and 1,but I don't what correct values it would. I try to guess it by eyes, maybe there is something like a chart for this types of materials?
Hey, I export my mesh from blender to substance painter. I have a parent and I set everthing "All transforms to deltas" then exported. But my mesh's transform changes in substance. Couldn't figured out why and what to do 😕😕
I'm using Substance Painter version 2020.2.2. Today I downloaded an Nvidia GPU driver update. The next time I opened Substance, I was met with an error/warning: [GPUIssuesCheck] Installed driver for graphics adapter 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070' is outdated. You should update them for a better experience (http://www.geforce.com/drivers). The currently installed version is 30.0.14.7168. The recommended minimum version is 26.21.14.4250 (442.50 WHQL). This now gets written to the console log every time I open Substance. Is there a way to stop Substance from performing this check? There seems to be a bug in the driver check version, since I'm using a version higher than the minimum recommended driver. Thanks.
Hi guys,It doesn't work when AA moves the camera. Is there any good way to deal with it?
Hi, I've imported a bunch of textures via "File / Import Resources...". I set the resource type to "texture" and the "Import resources to:" setting to "library 'your assets'".Afterwards, when I enable the "textures" filter in the asset browser and go to "your assets", the textures are there and everything is fine. However, when I restart Substance Painter the textures have disappeared. I.e. when I enable the "textures" filter in the asset browser and go to "your assets", the textures are gone. When I open the path "/Users/myusername/Documents/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Painter/assets/textures, the textures are there: So, it seems like Substance Painter can't access the textures, maybe due to macOS preventing it from doing so. I'm on macOS Big Sur 11.5.2 using Substance Painter 7.2.2 on an M1 Mac mini.
Hi, When creating a project with a low-poly OBJ file or when baking the mesh maps using a high-poly OBJ file Substance Painter can't access the material (-.mtl) file. I've double checked that the material file is valid by loading the same OBJ file in Blender and Marmoset and it works fine. I get the same error even for a simple cube with six vertices and a single material. I suspect that macOS is possibly restricting Substance Painter from acessing the material files. I'm on macOS Big Sur 115.2 and Substance Painter 7.2.2 on an Mac mini M1.
Hi guys, I cannot find a propper place to ask but maybe someone can help me. I'm paying monthly subscription for Painter and previously I've had acess to the collection of smart materials. That is now https://substance3d.adobe.com/assets/allassets?q=skin and if i want to download something I need to log in now with Adobe account. But when I do that I'm asked for another subscription model just for that, and I cannot download stuff for free. Is this normal, do I need now two different subscriptions? Thanks,Aleksandar.
Does anyone know where there is a license agreement for the fonts that are packaged with Substance 3D Painter? I am trying to find out what usage they allow. I tried looking some of them up under the normal Adobe Font page but they aren't listed. Which leads me to think that they may have a different legal status.
Hi Adobe support team and community.I'm kind of newbie in Substance Painter. Started the trial few days ago and after watching a good amount of tutorials, read the manual, watch the FAQ, and read the other users posts. But I cant find the answer, that's why I'm had not more choice than post this.Learning how to use the tool, I started to explore the Brushes in the Assets panel, and naturally picking here and there, among the different options to see what they do and "play" with their individual setting over and over, after couple of hours of experiments I close the model and open a clean new one to check more of the other brushes but for my surprise I started to see that the new selected brush, is painting carrying all the settings that the previous brush used, for example if I used an Autumn Leaf and switch to a Basic Hard now the brushes paints with the Autumn Leaf color parameters among others, little weird but somewhat manageable, but when you previous brush is somet
Just using substance, in general, is extremely unstable, need to use this for my work. Researched multiple 'fixes' none of which worked so far.
Hello All. I have only now saw the warning message about my disc cache being low. Painter shows a usage o 100 %. Prior to this message it sat around 60 - 70 % any ideas on the remedy ? Could I un install Painter and re install or maybe delete the Temp folder. [ as long as I can find out which one to delete ]Regards,Raymond
Hi all, does the Python API already support querying and updating the project mesh file?We would like to weave Substance Painter into our production tracking pipeline. Getting the full path to the imported mesh and setting another mesh file via script would be really great. I could not find anything in the docs or Python module help though.Cheers, Michael
