Substance 3D Stager

I've been trying to render a file for 2-3 days. I set it to render, then leave it. When I come back, hours later, the render hangs somewhere in the middle of the progress bar.My scene a big canvas with lots of objects. I'm rendering 4000x5000 px.  I don't need super high quality, I just need to get this thing I've been working on for weeks over to photoshop, in one piece.  Since Stager isn't presenting any errors, it's just comatose, I don't know what to do. The interface "works", that is I can go through the save dialogue, but it just doesn't save anything. It may be that the underlying process is just busy, but... when nothing happens, nothing keeps happening, it's really hard to figure it out.  When I come back, even if I leave it for an hour after that, the progress bar isn't moving. Also, since it's not the app crashing, only the underlying software, there's no crash reports, nothing like that. What do I do?

I recently installed Stager(1.1.1). It starts fine but placing an object in the viewport has no effect. Most of the menus and tools seem like they are active and can be selected but there is no actual effect. I can load a stager file but it shows nothing in the viewport.Once the program is opened it can't be closed down unless I terminate it in the task manager.I've reinstalled the program several times with the same result.Any suggestions for a possible fix?

Hi,I am trying to figrue out what programs can help me with this: I want to be able to build a nice setting/scene and then add a product to it. To be able to have nice product photos without having to make the scenes with real objects en stuff in a real studio. So my questions are, wich program lets me build beautiful photorealistic scenes and how do i make a photo/3d model of my fisic product to import in to that scene. 

Hi Guys If I have a model with multiple materials that requires scrolling, the last material in the list cannot be renamed. When double clicked on it will scroll the list up. Let me know if you need a screen capture of it. Kind regards,Iyad

I changed the Magic Wand setting to tiny and now when I try to scroll it up nothing happens, its stuck on tiny now. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi,   I recently upgraded to Stager and painter 2022 via steam. A couple of issues I have found that you might be able to resolve.   1)  Can the steam stager 2022 (painter etc) version work offline without the app wanting to quit after it links back to Adobe cloud? When you put the steam app into offline mode the stager app shows an error message saying it will quit as it's a Adobe trial version and then it won't work until it goes bank online.This is very troublesome as I wouldn't always have internet connection so having the ability to use the software without wifi connection would be very helpful.   2) when I try to open the stager app I sometimes get an error message saying something about Sandbox needs to be installed.   3) I know this isn't the case but the rendering speed is like the rendering is going via the web as it does seem slower than dimensions - I have a new MacBook Pro Max so it shouldn't be rendering this slow.   4) Stager - the displacem

I know that CAD file imports are supposed to be Enterprise only, but I can't recommend moving from Keyshot Pro to Stager to my boss if I can't test out how I pretty much start every 3D project - which is by importing a STP file that I get from the manufacturer. Does anyone know how to get around this limitation? Thanks for your help.

So i textured on painter and exported to stager using its preset available in painter. Everything worked out until i activated ray tracing mode.When ray tracing is on i get black artifacs around my entire model when moving the camera around.After a bit more digging i found out that meshes with no smoothing groups doesn't get affected with this issue.Hope you guys can help me with that.

When I render my work all is well, but when I take it to Aero the images inside my work are all sideways. Please help.

Big problem has just appeared. I am unable to add another model to an existing scene. Previously I could add as much models as I needed but now when I go to add a model it closes the existing one ! Very strange . I need this addressed ASAP.

Is it possible to subtract volume from shapes to actually make them hollow (for example, a cup of water) using the cylinder to create empty space inside. This what I am currently needing for my Stager workflow along with macOS GPU Support. Also waiting patiently for the Modeler app to be available on macOS, I truly feel like that will be icing on the cake for the Adobe 3D Substance Suite, the workflow in that app looks very intuitive. Cheers,Charlie Dixon

Hello everyone,I have a little experience with C4D.With great interest I have been looking at the substance 3D programs.My question is very simple, maybe too simple 🙂In C4D you can model by using tools and sculpting.Where do you do that in the substance 3D series?

Can't run the app becuase of the following error: I have a paid subscription and I am logged into Creative Cloud on the app and on the website. I've also tried running Stager via the launcher in Creative Cloud with no luck.

Hi there, it appears the latest update, whilst fixing many bugs, has introduced a few too. The current killer for me is that after working with Real-Time Raytracing enabled in the preview, I am unable to switch to the Render tab no matter how many times I select it. The only way I can get it to work is to save the document, close Stager, reopen, and immediately select the Render tab before the raytracing preview is selected.  The other issue I'm experiencing is that when importing a large image for a background it's showing in the preview and the render as part of the image and then a huge white rectangle in the middle of the image very reminisant of a softbox. My specs are i7 11700 @2.50Ghz, 64GB RAM, RTX 3070, Nvidia Studio Driver 472.47, Windows 10 Pro 64Bit

Hello I wonder does it matter what default size of my House project for a character I create? I would like to know what are industry standarts for a character dimentions? I have already modeled character in maya and now I am looking forward to build a house for it to be placed in, but I worry that I won't be able to modify dimentions later on in a project. The worry comes from that I am not sure how to scale rigged character. All in all my question is all over the place but the main issue is to be able to size character to a room/house correctly, thanks 

Why is it so hard to render in stager? I have my sneaker ready in Substance painter for the ongoing competition, but I have not yet been able to have a single render out from the Substance Stager. After an hour time it is just "estimating"..... even with draft quality? I have tryed to follow discussions about Gpu rendering with Stager, but as I am not an "engineer" I feel myself very insecure in changing anything on my computer...   Are there any clear and precise instructions for "dummies" in rendering with stager anywhere?I have tryed out every tutorial I have found, so the porblem is probably on my PC? As I am use to work with Adobes programs - which usually are genious - but this Stager rendering is now killing me.. This is annoying beacause I really would like to take part for the Sneaker competition! Regards, Annamari

Hello all,Any idea about the release of an apple M1 supporting update for adobe Substance Stager? I am experiencing a lot of freezing screen, lags, and some of my inputs doesn't always work.Did I miss a beta? 

I would like to participate to the Great Shoecase contest, and I have spent several hours to texture the model.It is required to render a couple of images in Stager, but it does not look possible to render anything!!!I have uninstall and reinstall it already.I feel so frustrated about that....

Hi,  I've brought up this issue, but to no avail. I made a very simple material in Sampler. I added snow to a sphere, added height, turned up the normal map. I added a little bit of water. That's it. This is the result i was looking for: I exported this material as an sbsar but when I apply that sbsar to a sphere in Stager, it comes out as a flat, lifeless nothing. So I exported all the information as a PNG, which gave me Roughness, Height, Normal, BaseColor, Specular, Ambient Occlusion, AnistropyAngle/Level. I opened Stager and added all of the PNG files to each coresponding slot in the properties tab. Displacement on. This is the result. The same flat nothing.  Is there some fundamental thing that I am overlooking? Can stager not produce the same results shown in Sampler? In an effort to teach myself these programs, I simply want to make a sphere in Stager look like the one in Sampler.  Thanks for the help, A 

I feel a contest like The Great Shoecase highlights a huge issue with Adobe trial licenses in general.  I may not be able to afford purchasing Substance Painter this year, but need this and Stager to enter the contest - problem is, I have already used up these trials, so cannot use them again without purchasing. There should be an option to redeem a code in the Creative Cloud Hub (app and browser), which can reactivate affected trial licenses for the duration of an event.  That way they have the chance of getting a fee, annual license.
