Adobe Express Android freezes constantly | Android 16

Community Beginner ,
Sep 18, 2025 Sep 18, 2025

From opening of a project on the app, to nearly every function, the app keeps freezing after 1-2 commands are issued. Express has a long history of issues and unnecessary changes but now it's really just plain unuable like this. Since the update, on Android16 the app will freeze and the only work around I can do is switch ot another app and go back and most of the time it will resume. This way I know it's not my OS, it's the coding of Adobe Express. This app becomes more and more unusable every few months but this is quite the stunning leap. I wish I could go back to the pre-AI slop version of this app but you forced me to this new one that is so non-userfriendly and non-intuitive. It takes 5 steps to do something that just took 1. More bugs than benefits and now I can't even use it. You aren't making it better more than adding more problems. PLEASE give us the old versions back or the abilty to switch to the old UI. I just want to get my work done on my mobile quickly and correctly. It hasn't been that way for 2025. It's BEYOND frustrating.

1. version 29.0.0
2. Android 16 (build: BP3A.250905.014)
3. Open any project and watch the fun begin. Every 2-3 functions the app freezes. Stuck loading screens,  unresponsive to inputs, frozen screen, etc.
4. We just expect it to work. it doesn't. it freezes. switching out to other apps and trying again sometimes works. Feels like a memory issue or sloppy code.

Please try the latest update to the Express App (29.1.3). We believe we have found a workaround for a bug in the Android16 WebView component we rely on.

We have released a new app version- 29.1.0, with some fixes.
Please update Adobe Express and install the latest Android System WebView from Google LLC  from the Play Store.

Do share your observations here after completing these steps and using the app.

I'm using a Google Pixel 8 Pro. Never had a problem up until recently. App crashes. Or when I go to edit one of my projects, it never loads and just freezes. Can't even go back to the main page.

Still no fixes.

I can't believe you are blaming Android 16 (not even a beta) literally all of my apps works EXCEPT yours. It's been weeks and nothing has helped. What are you even doing?

Every time I think Adobe Express can't get worse you find a way. It's so beyond user friendly to operate, needless AI features that seem to just playge your app with more problems. Is AI writing your code too? Please just let us have the old versions that worked. This is unusable. What am I even paying for? No support. No functioning app. This is infuriating.

The problem seems to have been fixed. The app works flawlessly. I have the latest Android 16, Pixel 9 pro, and AE wrsja 29.1.3 apps.

Thank you to all Adobe and Google employees for fixing this flaw. I'm glad that I can use a working well app again.
