Delete Key No Longer Deletes Characters in Adobe Express

Hi Adobe Team,

 

I’ve run into an issue with the Delete key in Adobe Express when editing text.

  • The Delete key no longer deletes characters forward when the cursor is inside a text box.

  • The key does still remove entire text boxes when they’re selected, so that part works as expected.

  • But inside the text box, pressing Delete simply does nothing.


I have some coworkers who use this key in their work daily and they are wondering if this was removed for a reason. I couldn't find anything online about it and to try and give them some closure, i decided to ask here.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Add a text box in Adobe Express.
  2. Type in a few words.
  3. Place the cursor in the middle of the text.
  4. Press Delete.
  • Expected: The next character should be deleted.

  • Actual: Nothing happens.

We’re sorry you’re experiencing this. Could you let us know which browser and version you’re using? Also, does the issue occur in multiple projects or just a specific one? Meanwhile, you could try clearing the browser cache, restarting, or using a different browser to see if that helps.

It happens to me too, started today. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, no matter which browser I use.

Same here. Delete key, up and down arrows.

Using Chrome, also doesn't work on Microsoft Edge.

It's the same here; I can't delete any letters (or text) with the "Delete" key. I tried it on another PC, and it didn't work there either. It's really annoying, because now I have to work with it!

Adding in: Also I can't use my delete key when trying to delete a word in a text box.

Same problem still here, after a few days: delete key and up and down arrow keys don't work in any browser. Very annoying.

Hey Andrew, I’m noticing the same issue in Adobe Express — the Delete key doesn’t remove characters inside text boxes anymore. It used to work fine before. Seems like a recent bug or update change. Hopefully, Adobe fixes this soon because it’s really affecting workflow.

How much longer is this issue expected to last? For the last few days, it has not been possible to edit text that I add to a project or an image in Adobe Express. Specifically, I am unable to delete or change letters or symbols in a text box using the delete key.  Today is October 7th, and this has been going on for several days now.
