"Generate Similar" images are not added to Generation History, and other generation history problems

Hi everyone,

I'm writing to report a pretty serious issue I'm encountering with Adobe Firefly, and I'd like to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I've generated numerous images using Firefly over the past hours/days. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the generated images are not being saved in my "Generation History" within the "Files" section of my account. I've checked thoroughly, and there's no trace of these creations.

The most critical problem is that, even though the images aren't visible or retrievable, my Firefly credits have been consistently deducted for every single generation. This means I'm losing credits for a service that isn't retaining my work.

I've already tried:

Checking the "Files" section multiple times.

Refreshing the page and restarting my browser.

Accessing Firefly from a different browser.

None of these actions have resolved the issue.

This is a significant bug because it undermines trust in the use of credits and the preservation of work.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Have you found a solution or do you have any suggestions?

I hope Adobe can investigate and resolve this anomaly as soon as possible, perhaps by refunding the lost credits. Unfortunately, at this point, I cannot precisely quantify how many credits and files I've lost so far, nor the exact date since this problem began.

Thanks for your attention and for any help!

Ho dimenticato di scrivere un aspetto importante. Su windows se clicco su genera mi da errore. non riesco a generare nessuna immagine. Kasperky mi dice che il sito non era sicuro....ahahah

Forse questo problema non è collegato agli altri. Non so.

Grazie.

Hi @davidt2715125,

Ok, I think I understand. When you reopen an image from the generation history page, I believe it is expected hehaviour that the four images shown on the generation page are not added to the generation history as they should already be there from the original generation. If you then do another generation, the new generations should be added to the generation history. I just tested this and that is what I experienced. I asked if I am correct that this is expected behaviour and will report back if I hear differently.

I forgot to write an important aspect. On windows if I click on generate it gives me error. I can't generate any images. Kaspersky tells me that the site was not secure.... hahaha
Perhaps this problem is not related to the others. I don't know.

I do not think it is related. Can you please include a screen shot of the full browser window when this happens?

Thanks,

Adobe Firefly is free until december as part of my account so I thought I would try this out.  I am comparing this to Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, GPT4.   Ran across this issue using Firefly nearly 4 months after this bug was reported.  I found it frustrating and not intuitive.  Generative fill images are not saved unless you specifically save these locally.  This is not consistent with how every other generative AI tool works.  This breaks flow.  This is a frontend issue and should be an easy fix for your web development team.  If you choose that the correct workflow is local save, then this should be clearly shown in the interface.   This submission was marked as "fixed", but it is not fixed.

I’m a paying customer and Adobe closed my support ticket without giving any real answer, solution, or refund.

I’ve lost credits and generated images using “Generate Similar” and “Rerun” that never appeared in the cloud. The Generation History often doesn’t load properly, and it’s impossible to know which files are missing or if they’re gone forever.

I’ve tested this on multiple devices, with stable internet and even using mobile data – the problem is clearly not on my side. I also received a Kaspersky warning about an SSL issue on an Adobe server (service.account.adobe.com), which raises even more concerns.

This is unacceptable for a paid service. We’re not just losing images, we’re wasting time and money.

I already opened a previous post here with more details and a video:

If you’ve had similar problems or feel ignored, please comment here and share your experience. Adobe must address this issue seriously, issue refunds, and fix their cloud system.

We deserve real support — not silence.

Your "link" does not work.

I have merged your duplicate posts to one thread.

Hi @davidt2715125,

So, it appears that when you do a "generate similar", those newly generated images are not added to the generation history. It appears you also cannot favourite them. This is a known issue, and is in the backlog to fix.

For now, any images that you generate with "generate similar" should be saved locally, if you want to keep them permanently. If I get any updates, I will post them here.

Note, I edited the title of this thread to identify this as the issue in case others come here looking for this specific issue.

Thanks for this! I consider this a huge issue, as that's how I arrive at most of the final versions of what I'm trying to achieve. Any idea when this will be fixed?

Hello @Dave29444686sq4a,

Adobe generally does not give dates when bugs will be fixed. Until the generate similar not saving to cloud issue is fixed, please locally save any generate similar images you want to save permanently.

Update and Technical Details on Firefly Malfunction

Thanks for your attention. I'd like to provide further technical details and describe the issue's reproduction to facilitate its investigation.

Currently, my Adobe cloud storage is only utilizing 24.16 of 100 GB available, ruling out storage capacity as a problem. I'm operating on macOS using the Safari browser.

I've generated an estimated over 200 images, making extensive use of the "Generate Similar" command as well. Subsequently, upon checking the "Generation History" in the "Files" section, I found no trace of these creations. When I returned to the generation screen, only the most recently generated images were visible.

I also performed a specific test to isolate the issue:

I selected an image that was present in the history (one of the few that had been temporarily visible).

I used the "Regenerate" or "Generate Similar" command on it.

I observed that credits were consistently deducted, but the generated image was lost, not appearing in the history or anywhere else.

This behavior confirms that the issue is not related to storage space or the type of generation (initial prompt or "Generate Similar"), but rather a systematic malfunction in the saving and persistence process of files generated directly within the cloud. This situation raises serious concerns about the reliability of Adobe's cloud service, as generated and paid-for data is not being retained as one would expect from a professional platform.

Unfortunately, at this point, I cannot precisely quantify how many credits and files have been lost so far, nor can I pinpoint the exact date when this problem began, making it difficult to retroactively estimate the total extent of the damage incurred.

I expect a direct and conclusive response from Adobe regarding this serious anomaly.

At this point, it's clear that Adobe's cloud service cannot be considered a secure option for saving work, given the critical data loss issues I've experienced.

Hi @davidt2715125,

Any chance your creative cloud storage space is full? The images are charged against your quota, I believe. If not, please tell me your OS and browser and I can look into this further tomorrow.

Note: you can always save images locally, and I recommend any important image generation be saved.
