Adobe After effects 2024, 2023 Crashing in every second

Community Beginner ,

I've been experiencing crashes in Adobe After Effects for the last two months, happening every 2-3 minutes uses or even more frequently. I reached out to Adobe support several times, but they couldn't fix it. They uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ and updated my Nvidia driver, but the problem returned shortly after. I thought it might be a Windows issue, so I did a clean install of Windows 11, but the crashes still happen. I can't get any work done, and Adobe hasn't been able to resolve it. What should I do?

My PC specs:
- Laptop: Asus Scar 16 (2024 model)
- Processor: Intel Core i9-14900HX 2.20 GHz
- RAM: 32 GB

- Graphics: Nvidia RTX 4080
- Storage: 2 TB SSD

A few products are currently causing issues with AE:

* Trend Micro Antimalware

* Aspera Connect

If you have either of those installed, start by removing them.

After you see the dialogs you attached, does an overall Adobe Crash Reporter dialog show up? If so, can you submit that and make sure your email address is included and we can look up the crash.

Thank you for the suggestions. However, I don’t have either of the mentioned products (Trend Micro Antimalware or Aspera Connect) installed on my Laptop.

Do you get this issue in all the projects or in a particular one? Are there any third-party plug-ins installed? Try running After Effects in Safe Mode with the third-party plug-ins disabled. Here's how: https://adobe.ly/3ZMtsyZ

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi Nishu,

Thank you for the suggestions. I’ve tried running After Effects in Safe Mode and disabled all third-party plug-ins, but the issue persists across all projects. Could there be another cause?

Most crashes happen when I use the "Tint Effect," "Light Effects," and "Colour Balance " plugins, which are After Effects plugins. Sometimes, Illustrator and Premiere Pro Crash too, I noticed today.

I am looking forward to your advice!

Thanks.

It could indeed be GPU related, especially since the effects you mentioned use GPU acceleration. Can you try updating your GPU driver if it’s not already updated? If it is, I’d recommend doing a clean installation of the latest Nvidia Studio driver.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks,
Nishu

Hi, I’m facing a crash issue with an older version of the project made in After Effects 2021. The project is made in After Effects 2023 and 2024, I’ve noticed it crashes occasionally, particularly during specific actions or effects. I’m looking for insights or potential solutions to stabilize the project in these newer versions, as I rely on its features for my workflow. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
