Tested On:

24.6.2 (Build 2)

Sonoma 14.6.1

24.3.0 (Build 50)

Sonoma 14.5

Windows 10 Pro 22H2

Project settings:

Color Engine (OCIO color managed)

OCIO config (ACES 1.2)

Bit Depth (32)

3D LUT (Trilinear)

Working Color Space (ACEScg)

Display Color Space (Any)

When Importing Illustrator files with a gradient and then interpreting its color space as ‘-sRGB - Texture’ the gradient quantizes considerably. However, if you set interpret footage to ‘Preserve RGB’ and apply an OCIO color space transform effect (input : -sRGB Texture, output : ACEScg) it works as expected. They are essentially the exact same operation. Something fishy is going on in the interpret footage math.
