Replace footage ignores interpretation

Isn't it about time Adobe fixed the fact that replacing footage does not retain the original footage's alpha interpretation?

This has been broken for decades and is a major and constant annoyance when using AE as a development tool. I'm a 3D animator and am constantly updating sourced footage as I version up my renders during lookdev and final shot development.

If I want footage to be interpreted with anything except a premultiplied alpha channel I have to reset this setting every time I iterate.

Every. Single. Time.

Of course it's a complete no-brainer that retaining whatever settings were chosen on the original import of a piece of footage should be the default. To my knowledge there is no way to set this (other than the session specific "remember interpretation", which is an unsatisfactory and equally cumbersome workaround to setting interpretation manually each time).

Please fix this.
