Shift Key No Longer Snaps Rotation to 45° in New After Effects Versions

In previous versions of After Effects, when using the Rotate Tool (W), holding Shift would constrain rotation in fixed increments (by default, 45°). In the latest versions, this “angle snap” behavior seems to have been removed, and holding Shift no longer locks rotation to specific angles.

This feature was extremely useful for precise alignment and fast workflow. Could you confirm if this change was intentional? If so, is there any way to re-enable it, or could it be added back in future updates? Also, is there any keyboard shortcut or alternative method that replicates the old behavior?

I can confirm the behavior, Cristian. Thanks for the detailed notes. I'll move this issue into the bugs forum as I could reproduce the behavior on my M1 Mac. You will want to give full details of your system and media there, if you don't mind. See: How to Report a Problem

It seems to be working fine on my end. Can you try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled and see if it fixes the issue?

Also happening to me on AE 25.4.0 for OSX Sequoia 15.6.1, Even in SafeMode.
