Unable to import FLA files into Ae

Doesn't work for me either. How is this still a problem after 2 years?

I have the same issue in the 25 version of AE. 

Hi - a tool that I've started using to have Animate and AE play nice is a $50 plugin called Timelord. It's become a weight bearing wall of my production process (also is handy if I make an update in the Animate source - one button press gets it updated into AE. This is effectively workaround for the FLA importing issue. Once I found the solution I didn't look back.

And. To pile on - the fact that there's not yet an Adobe Animate 2025 is pretty telling. 

"Hi, I'm using Ae version 2025 and Animate version 2024 (which I believe are the latest versions) however I am unable to import .FLA files into Ae. This appears to be a known issue in previous versions going back to threads in 2020 - surprised it's still an issue with the latest versions. In any case, can anyone help? 

I have restarted my machine and also uninstalled / reinstalled both apps. Same error which reads as follows 

'An error occured while importing this file. Please try again.'

Ae tries to import the .FLA file for around 30 seconds before bringing up a box with this error message every time." 
basically I'm facing the same issue as this and I have an assignment due tmrw.

same here, this is a very old problem with Animate and After Effects, somehow the ability to import .fla is lost with the time, reinstalling both programs doesnt seem to fix it

I get all of Adobe for free from the University I work for. My IT department reloaded all of Adobe's applications--to include Animate and the problem still exists.
