After installing "beta" version of After Effects not only did it hijack all my file associations: the fix for wit is here >>> Bridge open all types of files in AfterEffects.
It's also causing random file types to appear in the wrong folders. I keep all my jpegs in one folder, all my pngs in another, etc., etc.
Since installing the newest "beta" release I am getting random file types in every folder. A few tiffs, a few psds, etc., etc. mixed in with every folder.
Anybody else experiencing this with the latest beta, 16.1.0?
Thank heavens Adobe lets us use older versions, huh?

I can approve that Bridge is behaving weird since the update - when I double click on an AI files, AE opens up instead of AI.

You're damn straight on that one! I'm certain you left yourself with a Good Plan B, i.e., software that actually works.
But frankly, I'm a bit surprised that you bit on a Beta version. Surely you don't trust Adobe to get it right the first time, do you?
Hell, an Adobe rental makes you an involuntary member of the Adobe Unpaid Beta Tester Program already!

Well I usually install the latest just to try it but I usually don't start working with it until the next version. I currently have 2018 and 2014 installed for actual work. But this new beta broke stuff just with the install alone. Everyone talks about breaking up Google and Facebook and Amazon but those companies have competition and people use their products of their own free will because they do what they do better than anyone else. Adobe has NO competition and millions of people are FORCED to use their products and a huge part of the economy is effected...or affected (I can never get those straight). Adobe is the company that needs to be broken up. They need to be forced to compete.

I totally agree. Monopolies only care about themselves. Anything they to for customers are done because they think those things will help themselves even more. And no one can do a thing about it.

Thanks for your response. The bigger point is that every 6 months after it's fixed, it's going to be something else you're reassuring us will fixed as soon as possible. It's beyond frustrating and if I could stop using your products I would. Unfortunately, I need them to pay my bills and there's no alternative. And as I said...It's a good thing you allow your subscribers access to older, stable versions.

Hi all,
This issue has been resolved in After Effects 16.1.1. Bug fixes in the April 2019 releases (version 16.1 and 16.1.1) of After Effects
If, for some reason, you can't see fixed issues on that page, here you go:
Thanks,
Rameez
