AE Crashing when saving or attempting to change cache file paths.

I get multipe crash issues when either saving an AE project or setting new paths for cache.

This specifcally happens when trying to open a project or save a project. I've tried installing multiple older verisons of AE as well. I've deleted all of the plugins and double checked my firewall settings.

Sorry to hear about the crash. Are you able to import footage in After Effects? I am trying to understand if After Effects crashes every time you try to access Windows Explorer in After Effects. If that's the case, try running After Effects as admin (right-click its icon and select Run as administrator).

That's a great point, yes, it crashes every time it tries to open a windows tab. Will try this tonight, thank you!

I've run After Effects in admin mode and everything works fine. I can open files, save and set my cache paths. How am I able to get this back to running normally not in admin mode?

No problem, thank you! I tried setting everything to Read-Write and checked permission and the issue still occurs everytime windows opens up.

Are you still having the same issue? If yes, check if there are any updates available for Windows. If that doesn't help, go to Windows Control Panel and repair all the Microsoft C++ Redistributable files by double-clicking them. Restart your computer and check.

Unistalling AE, then repairing all Microsoft C++ files, restarting and redownloading worked!
