Ae does not import updated and saved Ai file correctly

Hello

After importing an Ai file into Ae 2018 I then decided to amend the Ai file. So I saved the amended Ai file and tried to import it into a new Ae project but Ae shows only the unamended Ai file. I have even exited and reopened Ai after having saved the amended file but Ae for some reason is importing the old version of the Ai file. As a final attempt I have exited and reopened Ae and now it shows the amended version of the Ai file. I previously believed that Ae automatically reacted to updated Ai files. If anyone can shed light on whether this is a bug I would be very grateful.

Thanks

AE needs a bit time to update everything (you see it in the info-panel) and yeah - sometimes it's not doing it. I learned that you should not interrupt AE when it updates the layers - no clicking, no playback, just waiting a bit until it's done.

You can help yourself by right-clicking on the AI-footage in the project panel of AE, selecting "reload footage", when the update hangs.

Cheers,

Martin
