AE7 Pro copy and paste crash

If I copy and paste my plug-in effect, it works fine.
But if I copy and paste a track with my effect, AE crashes.
My flatten and resetup procedures look ok.

I've traced events...
Copy effect events -> flatten, resetup
Paste effect events -> flatten, resetup, all is good

Resetup is being called twice when the track is copied...
Copy track events -> flatten, resetup, resetup
Paste track events -> flatten, resetup, resetup, crash!

Any ideas?
