I bought a pack which has like 500 after effects in it for video editing. Now I have to convert these files (.aep) in mp4 so I can work with them.
How can I do that ?

so the pack must be constructed that each effect is a composition by itself
you have to send each composition to Adobe Media Encoder as in the video
that shows you a trick to export mp4 (H.264 or whatever)

Do I have to do this with each file ? this would take hours

usually those packs are designed so that you export the ones you need for your project
it is not logical that you will use all 500 in a single project, so as byroncortezh mentioned
put the ones you think you will use or all of them if you like on Media Encoder, not the render queue
to get mp4 export as I explained in the video

You are right Carlos, it must be in the AME to be able to export to MP4 not in the Render Queue.

Hi
Put them all in the Queue Render and leave them a whole night exporting. Do not do it one by one because it will take you a long time.

Thanks for the answers but I have a big problem.
If i put it into ame it all extracts into my Temp folder (C:) but I have no space for that. So it fails all the time...
And I cant change the extract path... so depressing
Why isn't there a Button which says "save to" so you can choose your destination folder ? I have 4 tb free on E driver...
I just want to get these aep files converted into mp4 and on my E driver...
Pls help how can I change extract folder?
All I see is Watch folder and stuff like that.

It's obvious that you brought this huge pack of AE files having never used After Effects. What were you expecting?
You're just opening these programs with no instruction and asking "why wont it do this? How do I do that?"
I might be the only person here compassionate enough to tell you what a fool you're being.
Adobe has tutorials on how to get started with all their programs.
I think you should have some respect for others (as well as for yourself) and take a few hours to learn the most very basics...like how to save a file.

No you're wrong. I just need AME to get the mp4 files so i can work with them.
apparently AME is the only software which can change aep to mp4.
As soon as I have my files i will uninstall AE, AME...
I have other programs I work with.

The very first lesson of how to use AME is 30 seconds long & it tells you where to change your output path.
I gave you the link. VERY FIRST LESSON....30 seconds long. Yet you could not be bothered.
You could get the information faster than anyone here could give it to you....yet you wait for an answer.
I am literally overflowing with compassion right now

following the video I sent you, when you are in Media Encoder, click on the blue line below
'Output File' and you will be able to save in the destination you choose, do not go to file
save and search for save as ... just click on the play button I demonstrated
choose only the effects you think you will use in your current project, you are dealing
with 500 effects here

Gutterfish read my question. If you have read it, read once more.
Now you should know that I must change 500 effects . Your video shows how to do it with a single file. I already knew how that works.
I don't want to save each file individually. I want to specify 1 folder.
carlosz I need all of them.

Then follow what Gutterfish told you to do

I prepared the video to show you how to get an mp4 export from after effects since in your very first post
you wanted to know how to do that... then you wanted to export all 500 at once, you got Gutterfish reply
and now Roland's reply, so go for it, but for next time please specify and add to your post that you also
want to know how to export ALL the 500 transitions AT ONCE as mp4 so that we could be of better help
and better service, I would have added that to the video ...

Ah. what a fool I am. Hey click on the Media Encoder link I sent you one more time. Move your eyballs a half a millimeter to the right and note the thumbnail at the right end of the strip. Note the title: "Set Output Location"
Have a nice day

AME's Preference Dialog has an option to always save to a specific folder - use it before sending any AEPs/Compositions to AME.

This is AME's Preferences Dialog. See the last option - "Specify Output File Destination". This is where you tell AME to save all of its renders/output.

you can select all of them, the same way I showed you with a single one in my video,
but select all of them holding shift key, set the format to H.264 if you want them all mp4
and set the output location of any of the selected, it will apply to all selection...
you need to do this method, because don't forget that you need to set 2 things :
1. Format
2. Destination
