After effects 2017 error: file cannot be imported the .jpeg file is damaged or unsupported

Hi.

I've encountered an error, as stated in the title when I try to import a jpeg file. In the past I've used Photoshop to simply gust save the file with RGB ... (forgot the full terminology) and boom, it worked.

Since I only use AE and have no othher need for Photoshop, I've not renewed Photoshop again.

When I encountered this error again, I've upgraded to the latest version of AE again, but it is still not working. There is nothing wrong with the jpeg file.

Your informed insight would be highly appreciated.

It's entirely possible the online converter just doesn't do the conversion cleanly?

I'm not trying to sell you on anything, but I find Photoshop (and Illustrator) to be essential pieces in the AE workflow. Depends on what kind of stuff you're doing, of course.

If you're not interested in having Photoshop, it might be worth looking at another image editing program with CMYK capability, (free ones exist) even if you're just using it for conversion.

What about using an online converter?

Online CMYK to RGB conversion

Hi Zulkifar

Thanks for your suggestion.

I've tried that already and it brings the following error: An unexpected error happened. If this problem persists, it would be nice if you could send us the input which produced this error.
