After Effects 2023 & 2022 are constantly crashing, Yes I have updated graphics drivers.
The has been an awful experience.
Firstly they would not install via the CC app.
Then they would not startup without crashing.
So I updated graphics card (RTX4080) to latest studio drivers (535.98)
I managed to work for 30min, then the app crashed (2023 latest), and now I can't start either 2023 or 2023.
All the crash logs state this with slight variations:
Crashed thread: 27 [9012] THREAD_PRIORITY_NORMAL
Exception Code: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Exception Parameters: Access violation writing location 0x0000006669a00f48
Exception Message: 3221225477 The instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The memory could not be %s.
I tried attaching the .crash files but guess what, even that doesn't work.

If you still have the crash log, can you find Thread 27 and copy that portion of the crash file back here? That should give us an idea of what's going on.

One thing that is weird is that at the bottom of the crash logs (all of them) it states:
Processor Architecture: PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64
Number of processors: 24
Processor type: PROCESSOR_AMD_X8664
But my processor is INTEL

Sorry about the issues. I'm discussing with the forums team how to make this easier. In the meantime can you place the file on your creative cloud storage or dropbox or onedrive or somewhere that it can be shared and I can download it?

That's strange about the file type into Creative Cloud. I have every sort of file extension I can imagine in mine. Anyway, go ahead and email it to mfrbeta@adobe.com - Strange I know, but I can't give out my personal email address on the forums, but this will get to me.

Got them, thank you.
It appears all the crashes are occuring due to something called Trend Micro UMH Monitor Engine, which I think might be something to do with Ransomeware protection. If you have any control to disable that, do that and see if that helps with AE being more stable for you.
I also see both WACOM tablet and NVIDIA driver potential issues in the crashes. I believe you are up to date on the NVIDIA piece, but you might try disconnecting your Tablet if the Trend Micro software doesn't solve the problem.

I'm new to After Effects but not new to the subpar performance of adobe's software. Going through my first After effects tutorial and just experienced my first crash. Upon relaunch, the program stated that the crash may be due to the Transform effect. Whatever. It looks like I can expect more temperamental conduct from yet another adobe application.

Are you still having the issue? Let us know.
I am moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for now.
Thanks,
