After effects added motion tile but it won't move

Hello I am working on a project and added motion tile to a Studio Reflection image. I know you are supposed to be able to drag your time/seconds duration line back and forth to see the image in motion before the work is saved. No matter what I do I have a static image that I can't scroll back and forth on to see movement. I am a newbie but trying hard to learn. Can someone please help

Motion tile only expands the layer it's applied too. If the source layer you're applying the effect too is a still image you wouldn't see movement while scrubbing around the timeline because nothing is moving. Try applying the effect to a video clip or another composition that has animation in it and see if you get the same result
