I'm trying to use cinema 4d lite in after effects but when i go back to After Effects I get this message:

After Effects AEGP plugin cineware SceneLayer. Cineware - General error (5027 :: 12)

I have the latest version of After Effects 23.5 on a Mac Studio with up to date  OS Ventura 13.4.1

How do I fix this error?

I think this happens when Maxon wants you to re-login to its app.  Can you switch to Classic Renderer, then go to File > New > Maxon Cinema4D file and from there, you'll be prompted to login.

Thanks, your suggestion seems to have worked. I didn't have to log-in but changing to classic renderer lets me see what i created in C4D within After Effects main comp window.
