Hello Everyone,

I just wondered if anyone knows if you are allowed to backup a copy of  adobe software installation disc for archival purposes. The reason I'm asking is I have a boxed copy of After Effects and on the cd label it has a symbol saying no copy?

Any help will be much appreciated....

Hello bend55807110,

also my disclosure: I am not an Adobe employee and I am not authorized to speak on behalf of Adobe. Nor am I a lawyer.

The "No Copy" sign usually means that you're not allowed to make a copy of the contents included on the CD/DVD and
sell or otherwise distribute it elsewhere. Such sentences can also be seen on music discs, for example.

Considering Peru Bob's link, you should be fine with making a backup for archival purposes - but again, I'm not a lawyer
