After Effects doesn't work with Advanced 3d

New Here ,
Nov 06, 2024 Nov 06, 2024

When I load a 3D model into After Effects and add it to a composition, it doesn't appear in the Preview, just a black screen. When I try to turn on Draft3D mode, AE crashes, but allows me to save the project.
I tried this with different 3D models, including those that worked fine on other PCs.

My version of AE is 25.0.1
I also tried with version 24.6.3

My laptop is
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11980HK @ 2.60GHz 3.30GHz
Nvidia geforce rtx 3070 8gb
32 gb ram

Windows 11
I have updated my video card drivers to the latest version

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with After Effects not showing the preview of your 3D model. Let’s see if we can get this sorted out for you. To better understand the issue, could you please provide some additional details?

  1. Do you see the crash reporter when After Effects crashes? If so, please provide your email ID to it and submit the report.
  2.  Could you let us know the version of the GPU driver that's installed?
  3. Does it work fine if you do not use the Advanced 3D renderer?

In the meantime, try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled.

Let us know, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

I have the same problem, it won't let me work like this. It directly saves and closes the project.
