Hi all
I've connected some circles with lines using the beam effect and animated the motion. I'm using this composition in another composition. When I scale the comp the circles scale but the beams stay the original size - please see attached file.
Any thoughts? I feel like I might have missed something obvious here.
Thanks

Also do not upload cropped screenshots of preview. They are completly useless. Always upload the entire interface with the layer in question settings in view.

The normal workflow for attaching either end of a line generating effect like Beam or Saber to other layers is to use expressions. If you then need to scale both layers the easiest thing to do is to parent both layers to a null and then scale the null. Another approach is to use the Create Nulls from Paths script that comes from After Effects.
Without a detailed workflow description and screenshots showing the modified properties of the layers, it is almost impossible to figure out how to help you. I can think of at least a dozen ways you could attach lines to dots and I don't have time to explain all of the solutions.

Thank you Rick for taking the time to respond to my question.
That looks like a really good idea - I will give this a go. I also bodged a work-around where I used the 'Scale Composition' script and this also seems to work.
(I apologise for not presenting my question in the right way - this is the first time I've done this so I will learn from it.)
Thanks again
