Community Beginner ,

My After Effects will not open. I have it installed on my MacBook already and I have had this problem on a different computer. What the apps look like in my application folder are Screen Shot 2018-10-22 at 8.52.45 AM.png and I always get this message Screen Shot 2018-10-22 at 8.53.03 AM.png. How do I install it

What version of the MacOS do you have? You may need to update AE to 11.0.4

Seems like you have to upgrade AE or downgrade macOS...

Hi! So this is one of the problems of running legacy software. Older software needs equally old OS to run optimally and eventually to run at all. Presumably, you have updated your OS past what works with CS6. Most people started having issues ~10.11 but it really varies from system to system.

Well, the only thing that a I have to say you is: upgrade Ae. The question is, why have not you done it already? Just as a trick question, is it a cracked version?

CS6 is the last version someone could outright purchase. It could be that our poster purchased it and doesn't want to get into the subscription software. I wouldn't assume piracy immediately.

You're right. In that case, the option would be to downgrade the operating system.

Or update AE. Since Mavericks (I think), AE CS6 has to be updated to 11.0.4 to run. And, for the most part, it can run on newer Mac OS versions. I haven't heard of anyone trying it on the newest ones yet though.

Again, it's a bit risky to hope such an old version will work on new OS versions, but there's always a chance it will.
