Hi all,

When I export my video as "Apple Prores 4444 with alpha" The alpha layer looks like the opacity has been lowered. I can see trough it. I never ever changed the opacity. I checked the whole project. When I play it in after effects its completely fine. But when I export it in media encoder, thats where it goes wrong i guess...

Hi William,

Do you mind sharing the following details so that we can understand the issue better?

  • What's the version of After Effects you're using?
  • Are you macOS or Windows?
  • Could you share a screenshot or screen recording that shows the problem?
  • What happens when you export from After Effects render queue. Do you still get the issue?

Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troublrshooting.

We're here to help, just need more info.

Thanks,

Nishu

Hi Nishu

I use After Effects V23.2

I use Windows as the operator system.

Thanks for letting me try to export it in after effects! It worked!

Here is the screenshot from inside after effects

And here is the screenshot from the final render

There are no media players that will display transparency. You have to load the rendered file into After Effects or Premiere Pro to see if your movie has transparency.

Did you create your own render settings or use the High Quality with Alpha preset in the Output Module settings menu?

Hmm weird because i always use media encoder for things like alpha layers. It has never not worked before.

No, ive never made my own render settings/changed any settings from already existing presets.

But the problem is solved!
