When I draw new shapes, the anchor point doesn't auto-center like in previous versions. I've checked that this option is turned on in the Preferences.
What's also weird is that I'm unable to alter the anchor point using third-party plugins, the anchor point doesn't budge, but the same script/plugin works on other types of layers. Is this a bug or have my settings/preferences messed up some way?
I'm using After Effects 2025 (25.1.0 Build 68) on a MacOS (Sonoma 14.7.2)

Update: Resetting Preferences seems to have resolved it! Though I'm curious how this happened out of the blue, hopefully doesn't occur again.

I am not reproducing this issue. Wth the Center Anchor Point Preference checked, it is centering as expected when I create a new Shape Layer.
Can you send a screen capture of what is happening for you?

Still experiencing the bug. I also have 2024 installed and it's working normally — also has the same set of plugins installed.

I'm glad you found a solution.
It sounds like the preference wasn't getting updated successfuly, regardless of the state of the checkbox.
We'll definitely keep an eye out for this.
