hi guys,hows it goin'?
i made the jump from sony vegas to after effects about a week ago and it blew my mind.AF is awesome,i love it
however,im having some problems with animation.more specifically...its not smooth.it feels very choppy.and im not talking about the PERCEIVED smoothness of the animation,im talking about actual FPS.
im running the project in 60fps,and im hitting F9 on all keyframes for easing etc.however, its still choppy.its not that real buttery seamless smoothness.
lets say im moving a logo from point A to point B...it feels like there should be extra frames drawn in between each advancement of the motion.
heres a crude mock up i made to explain (picture the logo traveling diagonally and each still represents one frame)
they are screenshots of two instances of AF taken one frame apart and overlayed (they are not perfectly aligned).im just using them to illustrate my point.
basically i feel like there should be an intermediary instance of the logo positioned between the red lines (to fill the void and add to the smoothness)
im uploading a video too so you can tell me if something is wrong or if this is the best i can hope for far as smoothness goes(but its taking some time.the file size is almost 3GB for a 7 second video...that also seems a bit odd)
anyway, any help would be really appreciated.i want everything to be super smooth .i hate choppiness

Do you know how to preview? The space bar is typically useless in AE.

I would try to:
1. Render to MP4 (H.264)
2. Use motion blur

i tried to do motion blur but no dice.it didnt help with the lack of inbetween frames and also i dont want this blur effect (but i see how it could be useful for certain other things)
heres the video (notice how visually displeasing it looks when the logo slides to the side).its so choppy and jumpy .there should be like 100% more frames inbetween to make it look smooth .it looks like 60fps footage rendered in 30 fps
thoughts?
