i'm about to buy it, but wanted to run this by someone.
i've got labor intensive projects where i want the Words to have an effect on them as they are said.
i'm going to use text exploder for let's say a paragraph of text ...i then want to select those text layers and click a button that will cause them to each have a new solid with the saber effect applied to them ...if posible setting the saber core type to text layer and then setting the saber text layer to that new text layer would be awesome.

Hi Joseph,

the easiest way to apply third party effects with Automation Blocks is to create an animation preset including the effect and then applying the preset with Automation Blocks.

https://mamoworld.com/docs/automation-blocks/block-reference/aeLayer#ae_layer_apply_preset

After creating the effect you can adjust effect parameters with the Set Attribute of Layer Property block (set it to set the value of the property).

To learn how to work with presets, see this tutorial:

https://mamoworld.com/docs/automation-blocks/tutorials-ae/programmingAHighlightTool

saber is free if you are attempting to figure this out https://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2016/03/new-plug-in-saber-now-available-100-free/

i don't know if you can even access third party effects via Automation Blocks.
you will find that when you have multiple instances of saber running ...you will have to set the saber render settings / composite settings / transparent ...otherwise, you will only see one text layer with the effect applied.

this would be something else that would be greate to automate.

Hi Joseph,

To learn how to work with presets, see this tutorial:

In the tutorial, I create shapes with the presets, but it works the same way when you use presets containing effects (also third party effects).

To learn how to change effect properties after creating the effect, watch class 2 of this tutorial series:

https://mamoworld.com/docs/automation-blocks/tutorials-ae/writeCustomTemplateTool

It is about replacing texts and colors, but you can change any other effect properties in the same way.
