Background

In tutorials backgrounds are black. In AE my background is a checker pattern (indicating transparency). How do people get the black background you see in tuts?

Click on the transparency view switch:

You need to deactive the transparency grid. Use the Toggle Transparency Grid button in the bottom of the Composition panel. Check attached image.
