Anyone know of any ways to convert shapes from text in batch?
Trying to do them one by one is just not efficient.
Use the keyboard shortcut editor to create a shortcut, use the shortcut Ctrl/Cmnd + [ or Ctrl/Cmnd + ] to move between layers and then use your new shortcut to create a shape layer from a text layer.
If you want to search through a comp for text layers and convert them all to shape layers so you can use shape layer animators on them, which is just about the only reason I can think of to make the conversion, you'll have to write a script or look for one to buy. Try AE Scripts or similar sites. I

as Rick said, better find a script or a script wizard...
it is annoying that you can't "create shapes from text" from multiple layers. you know the command to "create shapes from vector layer" used to be one batch too once upon a time, until someone asked for the ability to a make it work for multiple layers and now we can. so don't forget to ask for it here and make Ae better for all of us: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Hi
If you are still looking for a way to do this you can use the excellent set of free scripts from redefinery - rd: scripts
You can download them from here: redefinery.com: rd: scripts
This is the one you want :
redefinery.com: rd: Batch Layer Converter
Hope that helps
Nick
