Bizarre error - layers disappearing after render

Explorer ,
Oct 06, 2018 Oct 06, 2018

Hi all,

I'm having a bizarre issue I can't seem to work out. I had a composition ready to render, however after rendering, half the project has disappeared and it won't let me seem to fix it. I've walked through the issue in the video below. I've tried creating a new composition and new project and copying/pasting, however the same errors and issues occur after I've copied and pasted. Tried all my usual tricks and wondering if I'm just missing something simple.

Any ideas - I'd appreciate them. Thanks!

First, purge memory and disk cache.

Second solo the layer that disappears, make sure it is selected and press the U key twice to reveal all modified properties of the layer, move the CTI to the point where the layer disappears and start turning some of the effects off and on to see if you can bring it back.

If you cannot find the problem try copying the layer that disappears and paste into a new comp and see if it still has problems.

Without actually seeing what you are doing to the layer it's really hard to say what caused the problem. I hope you have a copy of the Project before the layer started having problems.

Hi Rick, thanks for your reply!

I'd previously emptied cache and checked for modified properties. Copying and pasting didn't work either - same issue. I don't know exactly what fixed it, but  I went into the original PSD and then created a new PSD file and it fixed it! I removed all colour toning actions I had, so I think it had something to do with those.

A few hours of head-scratching later, all fixed! Thank you
