Working in iOS and creating layered art in Illustrator with RGB000 elements that look rich and lovely in Illustrator.

But when they get imported into AE the RGB000 blacks apear grey and render as grey in the final video output.

How can I get rich blacks out of AE?

Oh got it. You're using CMYK in Illustrator, just switch to RGB before importing into AE.

Then it'll import correctly into AE.

You probably need to adjust your color profile.

Post your Color settings in AE ( Edit > Project Settings > Color )

And from Illustrator ( Edit > Color Settings )

Try changing AE Working Space to Rec.709 Gamma 2.4

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not offered a working space of "Rec.709 Gamma 2.4." Here are my choices. None of the Rec.709 options listed here seems to help with the issue.

Interesting, maybe try sRBG then.

Well, I found the Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 option at the top of the list and it didn't help. The sRBG also didn't fix the problem. I would appreciate any other suggestions you might have.

Sure. I'm attaching the AE file and the AI file used in the animation. Thanks for taking a look.

I can't post the original Illustrator file for some reason. I get the error message: The attachment's r27.ai content type (application/postscript) does not match its file extension and has been removed.

Try compressing/zipping it into a .zip file and uploading.

I already tried that. .zip isn't an accepted format for this forum.

Thank you. That fixed the issue. I've been using AI for 25 years and never even knew there was such global document setting. I appreciate your help.
