I was trying to edit my video on After Effects but my video won't show up in the space where I should be able to see the video's visuals. I circled the area in red in the picture below.
I can hear the voices and the music fine, but I just can't see the video.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi there! I'm having the same problem and I already try your suggestions about the media cachet and reseting the After Effectcs preferencies and still not fix up the problem... woud you sugget me anything more to try?
This is happening with all my projects old ones and new ones.
My system specifications are:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.30 GHz
RAM 16,0 GB
OS of 64 bits
Windows 10 Pro
After Effects version 18.4.1 (Build 4) - I had try restoring an oldversion and the problem stills on.
Do you think that maybe some of this specifications are not working for de correct funtion of the software?
Any help I'll be greatfull.

Hi defaultvywtoyr0vhgw,
What's the version of the GPU driver that's installed on your computer? Is it updated? Could you try disabling "Hardware Accelerated Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels" in After Effects Preferences > Display?
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Nishu

Hi Sara, aparently the issue was in the version of Intel's driver. IT business support searched for the very last driver manualy, installed it and since then I can work without problems.
I don´t know if they did anything else on the pc, but I think it was just that.
I hope this would be helpfull for you.

Hi @defaultvywtoyr0vhgw , I had the same issue recently, whenever I use ae with nvidia driver, the view port disappears. But when I switch it to intel it works. I think it's the same problem with updated intel driver. What's your intel driver?

I have been having a similar issue for a couple of weeks. I tried the steps you've suggested and I've even tried uninstalling After Effects and installing older versions. This is a new Windows machine and the problem did not exist on the old one or my current MacBook Pro. Additionally, whenever I try to close After Effects, the program locks up and stops responding. This happens every time.
My computer specs:
Intel i7-1185G7, 32GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 10 Pro 21H1 19043.1288, After Effect 22.0.

Derreck, have you gotten anywhere with this problem? If so can you post? I have multiple students with this problem. They've emptied cache's and everything else Adobe has recommended and nothing works. Thank you.

Hi Sara. I have not. Due to some other technical issues with my computer, my IT group is requesting a replacement. I will update if that replacement has resolved the issue. I have not been able to use After Effects on the machine in question. You are the first response I've received, so no additional help was provided to me.
